Georgina, do you genuinely, genuinely think that we hate women?
I mean, I was thinking it.
I'm Evan Real.
I'm Rachel Meller.
I'm Sam Nungesser.
And we are recapping this not-so-wild finale of In the City.
It kind of ended on a high note.
Sunshine, rainbows, like, it was kind of like good energy.
We did navigate some drama before we got to a very copacetic,
simpatico ending, mainly revolving around this whole mom card,
nanny card situation between Whitney and Lindsay.
I'm sorry that you felt that way because, again, this wasn't my attention.
Like, I appreciate you hearing me and, like, understanding.
And I appreciate that.
How do you think that played out?
Who do you think won that war?
No, I thought the whole thing was a little silly.
The room drama is very reminiscent of, like, old Roni, which I liked.
I like a silly drama.
Where there's low stakes.
I think that, obviously, she likes single moms.
Like, that's, like, not even a point to be had.
Right.
I do not think that Whitney is a single mom hater or a woman hater, for that matter.
She likes moms.
She likes women.
It's fine.
I think Georgina was just very heated because Georgina was part of the drama, too,
because she was also allegedly pulling the mom card as well.
Because, do you know, if the mom card was pulled for Georgina,
Lindsay was the one who pulled it because she was like,
Which is valid.
Yeah.
I don't think them having a nanny, though, like, makes that irrelevant.
Like, I think they could still want the room, be single moms, and have a nanny.
Like, that point that she kept making, being like,
oh, I like single moms, but they have a nanny.
I'm like, well, you're kind of, like...
Right, exactly.
In a way, it's kind of, like, contradicting her point a little bit.
I think that Whitney, though, for the most part,
is well-intentioned for whatever reason.
It's just she and Lindsay clash, and Kenny and Lindsay clash,
even though they planned this trip together.
But y'all, they are clashing on social media, and I'm sure you guys have seen it.
It's, like, so crazy.
I know. They, like, hate each other.
I don't get it. It's, like, so wild.
I mean, Sam, do we think that there's hope for Kenny and Whitney
to ever make amends with Lindsay,
or are they just going to be, like, tense for the foreseeable future?
Honestly, I kind of hope that there's...
We always hope for resolve, but it is interesting
because it's nice to see drama that isn't so dark in this world,
and it is very kind of lighthearted drama.
You saw Kenny kind of, like,
I'm sorry for nothing, and Lindsay laughing about it.
I'm actually also sorry for absolutely f***ing nothing!
Oh, we know. We know that.
So, like, that kind of thing, I think, is the kind of drama that I do like to see.
Will they... I could always see that push and pull.
I don't know if they'll ever be, like, besties.
Completely.
But who knows?
They're going back and forth on socials.
Lindsay's activated.
Like, even after the reunion, like, it's so crazy.
Yeah, I think partially she wants to make a show,
and, like, sometimes when I watch it in the city,
I kind of feel like it's Lindsay and Kyle, like, teaching a class on reality TV.
It's like, come on, guys.
We're going to be, like, fighting about this now.
They are the perfect professors to teach a master class
in how to do reality television.
I mean, really, this is kind of, like, the Lindsay show.
She is the central force in the city, and I love that for her.
I love that for us.
I also love that she and Danielle finally got to a better place at Friendsgiving.
The way that Danielle sort of opened that conversation, though, I was like,
I feel like this is going to go left.
Like, there's going to be no resolution.
And then Lindsay dialed in and was like, let's resolve things.
Like, she really came with peace, love, and joy
for this reconciliation between herself and Danielle,
which, I mean, their friendship stresses me the f*** out.
And so whenever they're getting along, I do feel more at peace in my own personal life.
So it was nice to see that.
Do we think it'll stick?
It was in support of me, but it didn't feel, like, supportive to me.
You know, like, I just, like, wish we could have just talked about it.
Yeah, you're right. I'm sorry.
I think they're always up and down, but I do, but in a way, I don't know.
I don't know if it'll stick forever.
I think that that's part of the name of the game in these kinds of shows.
You know, you're best friends one day and you're not the next day.
I hope it will, though, because them two together,
like nothing stronger than a Danielle and Lindsay.
They're a force, but I think they'll always have a deep friendship.
And like, I feel this way a lot where there's history there.
Yeah.
But like, they maybe grew apart because they're very different.
And I can't actually see them being so close in everyday life anymore.
But they have a mutual respect for each other.
I do wonder, though, now that Danielle's a mom, too,
I wonder if that'll kind of bring them closer together as well.
Yeah, maybe.
Because they'll have kids like close-ish in age growing up.
And also the way that, you know, Danielle's birthing process wasn't so easy.
Her kid was in the NICU for a while.
And I know that Lindsay reached out to her and they were able to touch base about that.
So I think sometimes when those difficult situations arise,
it puts things in a perspective.
So hopefully it maybe brought them closer.
Although I wish those circumstances were different.
Although Danielle and her little baby, they seem to be doing well.
Everything's good.
I'm so happy for her.
Everyone is having babies, which we were reminded of at the end of the episode.
They did this kind of like six-month or this June update.
So we got to see where everyone was in June.
And yeah, Yvonne, Lexi, and Danielle all joining the mom club.
I don't know if they'll pull the card.
You know what?
I think that they should pull the card.
I was raised by a single mom.
And if she ever pulled that card, I'm so happy for her.
It's not a card.
That's the whole fight of it all.
It's like, this is actually just my life.
So I should get the big act.
No, exactly.
Exactly.
And I do think that, you know, one day, like Georgina said,
maybe Whitney will understand that.
I think that the next step is a baby after they kind of got fake married in Peru.
I mean, that was kind of fun to see.
I love the idea of like a spontaneous wedding you didn't know about.
You know, it's like, oh, so that was a wedding.
But he did say like in real life, he does want to marry her, which I don't know.
I kind of like them together.
I just had Whitney on for virtual reality.
And like, she was honestly such a vibe in person.
And she's so pretty.
They're all so pretty.
I love a pretty girl.
She was so pretty and so sweet and so nice.
And I will say when she spoke about Lindsay,
she spoke about her like in a pretty respectful way.
So it gives me hope for her future in this friendship group,
because it didn't seem like she was able to foster too many strong friendships
during season one.
But she told me that she's pretty close with Yvonne
and she's pretty close with Lexi and Danielle.
So all the new moms.
So maybe she'll be next in line.
I don't know.
But I also do wonder, like being so close with Yvonne,
who is still very close with Lindsay and Georgina.
And it doesn't seem like Lindsay and Georgina
really love Whitney so much at the moment.
Like, how does that impact the friendship, like the Lindsay crossover of it all?
Like, I think it's perfect for season two.
Are you are we excited for season two of In the City?
I am.
I think I'll always like watching these people.
I love Summer House, like big fan.
So just having them on my TV is like fun for me.
Will it be like a staple show in reality TV like Summer House was?
I think that's time will tell.
Right.
But because as a finale, this episode like didn't finale for me.
So like season two has got to bring the drama.
Yeah.
And not artificially like contrived drama.
Right.
And I think they'll find their footing.
I mean, they definitely brought that Summer House energy
to the like final little tail end of this episode
with West and Amanda and this this pickup scene that felt a little
I don't like awkward's not the right word.
But I feel like there could have been more.
Like we could have added a bit more texture to the conversation
because they were talking about the West and Amanda, Scamanda of it all.
And in that conversation, Kyle was sort of taking a ton of accountability
for the ways that he sort of screwed up in their marriage,
which like obviously we've seen that play out for eons now on Summer House.
And so good for him for taking accountability
and understanding that like it wasn't all Amanda's fault.
However, I feel like we spent a little bit too much time on Kyle apologizing
and not enough time on Amanda explaining more of herself
because so far she hasn't really done much of that.
So I still don't really know.
I just I need to know more from Amanda, the why, the how, the this, the that.
And then it just sort of ended with Kyle saying sorry.
And then like, let's go on a double date with Sally and West.
Like what?
No, like like any of you really think about it.
Sally was with West and now Kyle.
So everybody's crossover.
It's so weird.
It's a crossover of the century.
I mean, I'm glad that they are at least in a place
of just accepting how weird it is and acting like it's normal.
No, but it's like weird that she was like, let's go to dinner.
And he's like, that'll start up the Internet.
Like what world are we being played?
Do you want to go to dinner?
It'll probably create quite the Internet storm, but I'm happy to.
Like, wait, are they just punking us?
Is any of this imagine what's going on?
Imagine Ashton Kutcher comes in and he's like, you've been punked.
No, I can imagine that happening the way they like talk about the fans.
Like, I know he was apprehensive to be like and the fans,
but I feel like it actually is a larger part of their brain than they let on.
Yeah, totally.
I mean, you know, obviously that was a breaking of the fourth wall,
which I can appreciate most.
Like, I like it when a fourth wall is broken.
I think that's really interesting.
But in this instance, it was kind of like, what?
It's awkward.
But I do think that the fans did play a big part in, like,
leading Amanda to the getting out and getting away.
So I kind of think you can't not address it.
And I remember talking to her in the past,
and she's talked about, like, the fan and the fan opinion.
And it's hard.
And I think she's even said it on maybe maybe on Summer House, too.
But I just think that it's hard to, like, be this big and have so much conversation.
And, you know, you're on the show and have it not affect you.
And then you have to kind of acknowledge what kind of brought you to that decision, too.
Because I wonder, like, if people weren't telling her to leave him for so long,
would she ever have done it?
No, that's a good point.
I don't even think about that.
But you're right.
She has mentioned in the past that it was the fans who really helped her come to that decision.
And Ciara, I hope.
Because remember, Amanda, how supportive Ciara was of you?
That was so sweet to see on this past season of Summer House.
Actually, I don't know if she clocked it.
But yeah, it seemed like she really cared a lot about what the fans thought
if she didn't give a ---- about what Ciara thought.
Yeah, she doesn't care anymore.
Yeah.
Do we think Amanda will come back to In the City?
Yes.
You do?
Oh, you do?
Okay.
Because I feel like I feel like it could be like kind of like 50-50.
I don't know if reality TV is the place and space for her anymore.
But I can't imagine Kyle doing the show and Amanda not doing it.
I think she loves reality TV.
I think she's like said that to me before on like an event or something.
Like she's been filming the show for 10 years.
This is her livelihood.
She's not going to be getting brand deals for quite some time unless she breaks up with West.
Okay.
She kind of like needs this show.
Okay.
One thing about Rachel, she's going to keep it real with you, Amanda.
I'm not like a complete Amanda hater.
If she makes this right, like I can see a version of myself writing for her one day.
Okay.
Like she has a long road there and like she needs income before that.
Right.
Okay.
So Rachel is Amanda's financial planner because honestly she was making some money.
She had that $170,000 or whatever it was to immediately give Kyle and background,
which was like she was just like, yeah, no worries.
Like I got it.
I don't know if mama's got it anymore.
You know what I mean?
Because like you mentioned like she's not.
I think that she'll 1 million percent go.
Yeah.
She's not brand safe anymore.
So she can't bank on brand deals, which kind of really sucks because
her trajectory up until Skamanda happened, like she was on the up and up.
She was on the cover of Marie Claire, all of the Bravo fandom was galvanizing behind her.
Everyone was kind of on that anti Kyle Cook train.
And now it is the complete opposite.
And Kyle's making more money than ever before, which they did talk about in their
little sit down, which I thought was like really interesting.
Amanda did admit she was like, I think Loverboy is doing so well because everyone hates me so much.
I don't think that's why they're supporting you.
I think it's because they hate me so much.
Yeah, she was giving him zero credit.
She's like, I blew up this town.
Wait, I didn't think about it that way.
She was like, you're welcome.
She's like Loverboy is doing great because my life is failing.
He equates it to like, oh, I opened up about my business and everyone's supporting me.
And it's like, no, Kyle, like, love you.
But like, no, I think maybe it was the convergence.
It was like a happy accident.
No, she admitted that Loverboy was failing and we didn't know this about Amanda and Wes.
I don't think people would have gone and run to buy like lemonade.
Right, right.
Yeah, definitely.
It definitely helps for sure.
So Amanda, you're right about something.
OK, well, Amanda, if you come back, we'll be excited to see her like we want her.
She needs to come back, according to Rachel, Amanda's financial planner.
But do we want to see her back on the show?
I do.
Yeah, I'm curious.
You know, I'm curious to see because when would they start filming like this fall?
All of this has happened.
She's had her summer of weddings with Wes.
Like, how is she doing now?
What's going on?
Like, I want to know.
And will he be back with her?
Well, they're still together.
Right.
So when Danny and I asked Kyle and Lindsay about the potential of Wes joining in the city,
they're like, I mean, we film in the fall.
They're still together.
They were kind of shady about it.
But like, we're here in July.
I think they're going to be together by September, October.
Like, I just don't see it stopping anytime soon.
I mean, like anything is possible.
I wouldn't put it past them to just like do some crazy breakups that you like.
I mean, anything can happen.
But something in my heart tells me that they're going to be together for like
at least through the end of the year.
I don't know, because I kind of think that Wes thinks maybe Amanda could be her
his ticket back on to reality television via in the city.
Because how do you have scares me so much?
That makes you feel icky.
So icky.
Wes potentially being on the show.
No, because that's kind of inevitable.
But like the fact that like he might be like using her and like she's like actually like
falling in love with this like bad character who just wants Bravo fame.
Because I think he really enjoyed the reality TV experience.
I think Wes really liked the fame.
And I can't imagine if Amanda does Amanda does a show.
She's still with Wes.
How would he not be on the show?
At least as like a friend of her, a side character, etc.
Like he's going to be filming.
How could he not?
He would have to be.
He would have.
I mean, in a cameo way, some way.
Otherwise, it doesn't feel authentic.
Then we want to know what's going on with Amanda and Wes.
Right.
Exactly.
And he's not there and they're still together.
Bravo is not going to take a moral high ground when in the in the city, like preview.
Remember that preview?
They released like a while ago before the show came out.
The top scene was Amanda and Wes hugging.
Right.
Like they know what they're doing.
I'm kind of surprised that Wes didn't make some sort of cameo in the finale.
I thought we were going to get maybe like an update with Wes and Amanda
because everyone else had their little updates in June.
And all we got was this pickup scene between Kyle and Amanda in April.
Why don't we check in on Kyle and Amanda in June?
Do you think his contract was maybe over?
And he's like, I'm done being like bullied.
You're right.
Oh, because he did say during the aftermath taping with Kyle,
he mentioned something kind of like under his breath.
He was like, well, this is my last little bit.
I think they'd have to pay him more and get him all wrapped up.
Oh, interesting.
I wonder how much they would have had to throw at him.
Ask financial advisor Rachel.
Oh, my God.
They would have done it.
They need it.
This is like where my mind goes.
I love that.
That is where your mind goes.
Thank you, ladies, for going on this finale journey with me recapping this.
Hopefully we'll be recapping season two with or without Wes slash Amanda.
Who knows what's going to happen?
We will know what happens at the reunion.
Which is going to be airing, I believe next week, which is so exciting.
I mean, that's crazy, crazy, to be honest.
The fact that they fit so many people into that.
Watch what happens live clubhouse.
That is so talk about financial planning.
They save some money with that one.
And outfits.
Oh, shout out your favorite or least favorite.
Rachel, you're really just so unfiltered today.
I can't think of any outfits specifically, which isn't great either.
Because none of them stood out.
But they were just like casual for a reunion, which is like sad.
Yeah, they're at the clubhouse.
Yeah, I'm surprised Lindsay allowed that to happen in the clubhouse.
Yeah, I'm sure she was shocked, too.
Yeah.
OK, all right.
Well, stay tuned, guys.
