12-gauge Trixie, how's it going tonight, guys?
It's going awesome!
I can already tell, you guys, I feel...
Are you...
You gotta be stealing everybody's shine
with this red hair.
Hey, you know, I'm the front woman,
so I gotta be doing what I gotta do.
I be shaking ass on stage,
and I need you to look at my face too.
Oh, okay, okay.
So, are you twerking on stage?
No, I'm just moving hips.
Moving hips, okay.
You can twerk too.
It's rock music.
Rock music, you can shake ass too, for sure.
I love that here.
Okay, so we're here tonight at the Whiskey,
and what's the show gonna be like tonight?
I think it's gonna be packed, hopefully, praying.
Okay.
And it'll be fun, super energetic,
especially, like, that's our sound, that's our style.
Very, like, driving, so...
Okay.
And there's some really good other bands on the bill,
so I'm excited to play with everyone else.
What order are you guys going first?
We're setting the tones.
We gotta make a statement.
Okay, y'all are...
It's gonna be crazy right out the gate.
Y'all are the trendsetters, just, you know,
setting the bar high right out of the gate.
What are you guys' influences?
Do you only listen to yourself, or do you listen to...
Like, who else do you listen to?
We all listen to different ----.
Okay.
My favorite band ever is Gorillaz and Queens of the Stone Age.
That's mine.
Okay, what about you?
Well, I'd say a lot of, like, what I first started listening to
is a lot of, like, glam, like, 80s rock.
I like rock all the way from, like, 50s to, like, up to now.
Oh, wow.
And then I also like just other artists like Lana Del Rey.
Ah, I just saw her at the Ivy the other day.
Oh, no way.
Yeah, she was really sweet.
I just saw her at the Ivy.
What about you guys?
I listen to a lot of, like, 70s and 80s punk rock.
Nice.
That's really influenced, like, how I play bass.
Okay, would that be, like, the Ramones?
Yeah.
Okay.
Dead Ramones, Dead Boys, Misfits.
Okay.
Awesome, awesome.
What about you?
I would say a lot of, like, 80s Sunset Strip glam rock stuff
and a little bit of grunge,
and I like a lot of the newer stuff coming out now as well.
So, like, newer shoegaze or all that kind of stuff.
Wow, there's a lot of stuff that I haven't heard.
And what are you listening to?
I can go from your top, you know, 40s pop hits
all the way to the heaviest metal you can think of.
But if I had to say, like, my favorite band ever
would be Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Okay.
Right now, I've been listening to a lot of Dance Cabin Dance.
Wow, okay.
Now, is that a band?
It's a band.
Okay, very, very cool.
I have not heard of them.
So, like, have you guys had any crazy experiences at your shows?
Like, any wild stories?
Oh, yeah, it's always crazy.
There's always something happening.
There's definitely always some crazy stuff,
whether it might be some dude bleeding in the crowd
just because he wants to,
or maybe me even puking on stage.
I have done before.
Okay.
So, we definitely have had so many different ******* experiences.
Oh, one time we were playing,
and we had to kick a minor out
because they weren't allowed to be there.
They called the cops on us.
The cops never came.
So, we still played that show.
So, did you personally kick the minor out,
or you just let him stay?
No, I kicked their bitches out.
Both.
He actually did it for me.
So, what do you do?
You walk up to him, and you're like,
buddy, you gotta go?
We know who you are.
You need to get the **** out of here.
Yeah, because we do know who you are, ************.
Wait, wait, wait.
So, who is this guy?
Don't worry about it.
Why can't he just listen to you guys?
Maybe he's a big fan.
If you know, you know.
If you know her, you know her,
and she was causing problems.
Empty out your ******* pockets,
because when you're in a mosh pit,
you're cooked.
Because of all your ******* ----.
True.
All your ******* ----.
So, do you guys' mosh pits get pretty crazy?
Oh, yeah.
Always.
So, is this a problem
that you might slip and fall on the puke,
or you're puking in the crowd?
Sometimes it's a risk
because our guitars,
and we're whacking people in the head sometimes.
I once got some guy on the forehead,
and then he was bleeding,
and I felt really bad,
and then he was like,
no, that was awesome.
I loved it.
Really?
Okay, do you guys beat the fans
with your instruments as well, or?
Well, it's never on purpose.
I think our first ever music video,
I had a bra thrown on me.
Yeah.
I like that.
And I tend to grab people
and pull them on stage.
If it's a house show,
and I'm not elevated,
I like to go into the crowd
and kind of start going like,
I like to throw my,
I like that after the set,
I like to throw my sticks
into the crowd for whoever wants them,
but I can't say that you won't lose an eye.
Let me ask you this.
There's a thing that I've seen a lot on social media
where people are taking their phones
and throwing their phone on stage.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I won't know.
People will be recording the **** out of me,
so I'll just come up and,
boop,
and then I'll be like,
show the crowd real quick,
and then I hand it back.
Hand it back,
but when they throw it from the crowd,
like, you don't really know.
No, like, whose phone is it?
It's a free for all,
so like, honestly, if it happens,
like, if you get a phone,
then I mean,
I want to keep it.
You hand it back?
Right, or you're like,
what's the passcode on it?
Jesus.
Usually I'm just like,
whose phone is this?
Like, okay, take this,
and I start flipping it around,
and if nobody takes it,
I just set it down.
You never know for sure, though,
if it's actually their phone.
Okay.
But that's their fault.
That's not our problem.
You hand it back,
and then you throw it back.
There you go, there you go.
Let me ask you this.
Have you guys seen the video
where the band performs at Denny's?
Yes!
I think that was where I live.
I think that was where we lived.
You live at Denny's?
No, no, no, no, no.
I live at Denny's all day.
If I'm remembering correctly,
that was in San Diego,
and that's where we're from.
Ah, okay.
So are you guys down with the band?
Maybe they can open for you
one of these days, you know?
And they did it at,
so another band did it at Subway.
So I don't know if you guys
have seen the Subway.
I like that, I like that.
There you go.
So maybe we could get you guys
like maybe a Jersey Mike's or,
you know, or like...
Taco Bell.
Right, right.
What's up, Taco Bell?
What's up?
In-N-Out.
There you go.
You guys are going to start
a mosh pit at In-N-Out.
Man, I love that.
If I'm listening to you guys
for the first time,
I've never heard a song before,
what's the one song that I should play
as like the first song?
Each one of us definitely
has a different answer.
Mine's going to say,
I'm definitely going to say
Down at the Bottom.
Okay.
It's an older song we have,
but it just resembles...
Got it, got it.
What do you guys think?
I think you should listen
to Get to the Point.
I mean, it's raw, fast,
I mean, it's a heavy song.
It's punk energy.
I love that one.
Okay, she's agreeing with you.
Okay, you guys think the same?
I'm going with
Down at the Bottom, too,
just because, you know,
I love a tough groove,
and that's exactly what the song has.
So that's the one,
then you think so?
Yeah, I'd say
Down at the Bottom
or Party Favors.
Ooh, yeah.
Okay, now are the videos
for these on YouTube?
There's, yeah.
Okay, okay,
because I'm personally
going to go check all these out
because I want to see,
I really want to hear
all you guys' stuff
and everything like that.
Party Favors,
that's a new song,
but we just put out a music video
and we highly recommend
you watch it
because it's pretty good.
Okay, and that's,
you want to shout out
your YouTube?
That's also my vote.
Party Favors
is the song that you should listen to.
Our YouTube is just
12GageTrixie,
12GageTrixie.
I love that,
and that's where we can find you
on all social media platforms.
All right,
you guys have a final message
for your fans?
**** the bullshit.
That's a new one.
I've never heard that one before.
I think I like that one the best,
so there you go.
All right, guys.
Have a great show tonight.
Thank you so much.
I love you guys.
Thank you.
Take care.
