Today we are showing off the Outward Hound Backpack! Backpacks are a wonderful thing to have if you have a really active dog that is hard to wear our, or if you just love to go for long hikes in the backwoods with your dogs! This backpack has a lot of really cool features, such as being able to detach the backpack from the harness itself, water bottle holders in the bottom of the pouches, and really large pouches that can hold a lot of items! The backpack is adjustable, and very easy to put on and take off of your dog. As with any new adventure with your dogs, be sure to get your dog used to the backpack before going on any long hikes Let them wear it on a few short walks completely unloaded, and slowly work up how much weight you are adding to the pack. Backpacking gives dogs a job, and dogs love to work! This gives them mental and physical stimulation!! These backpacks are very durable and will last a long time! We now have 3, one for each dog! Anything to help wear out these hyper huskies!

there'll be a link down in the video description that takes you directly to it at our store.
Or, you can go to GoneToTheSnowDogs.com
They are offered in four different colors.
Shelby has the orange one on and they are also offered in four different sizes.
What you think of that Shelby?
What you think of that backpack?
These are actually really cool backpacks.
They are new as of 2007. It's a whole new design.
See the Outward Hound?
They got lots of zippers and pockets and a nice little handle.
One of the things I really like about this backpack is,
this whole top piece comes off and I'll show you that in a minute.
Check out these pockets.
Okay, so when you open up these pockets, you'll see they're actually really big.
I threw a couple of things in here just for fun.
We tossed some antlers in here.
And down in the bottom of both sides of the pouch,
there's little straps where you can put your water bottles down in here.
So you can put one water bottle on each side.
One thing you have to remember when using dog backpacks like this,
you want to try to weight them.
Distribute the weight on both sides.
You don't want all the weight on one side
because it'll cause the backpack to kind of want to tip one way.
It'll make the dog want to walk crooked sometimes.
Right? Right Shelby?
You're doing so good.
You're such a good demonstrator.
But anyway, there's these two pockets on both sides with lots of storage room.
The backpack itself, when it goes on,
there's a nice big pad right here that goes on the chest.
And then it goes down underneath.
And then there's two straps that go around.
I can crawl around you.
There's two straps that go around the belly.
One here and one here.
I have this one loose.
I didn't adjust it real well yet.
And they're all adjustable.
So if you have a bigger dog like Oakley or a skinnier dog like Shiloh,
right? So skinny Shiloh,
you can adjust these straps accordingly.
Now probably one of my favorite features of this backpack
is the ability to actually remove the backpack from the dog
without removing all of the harnessing equipment
that you have to put on when you put the backpacks on.
This is actually velcroed right on.
So you can take the backpack off.
So if you have this packed with camera equipment or first aid equipment
or whatever you have in here, whatever you need,
you can take the backpack off.
Pretty cool, huh Shi?
And get out what you need
without having to unstrap it from the dog every single time.
The nice thing about being able to remove the backpack quickly,
if you have it full of stuff and you're stopping to take a break,
you can take the backpack off
so that the dog can also take a break from carrying all that weight.
Another nice thing about these backpacks,
all of this little stuff right here
and there's some in here too, is reflective.
So if you're out walking at night, it has a little bit of reflectiveness to it
so people can see you and your dog as you're walking.
So if you're anything like us and you have really active dogs
and you need help wearing them out,
backpacks are amazing.
You can put a little bit of weight in them, take them for walks.
It helps wear them out a little bit faster.
Shelby's actually gone out with this a few times
and she doesn't seem to mind it at all.
When she first gets it put on,
she kind of does this where she doesn't want to move a lot.
Once we get walking, man, she just wants to go, go, go, go, go.
It takes me about half the time to wear her out using the backpack.
As long as we put some water bottles and a few toys in it
and sometimes the camera equipment.
Right Shelby?
Right?
Say, we like our backpack.
And now we're going to show you a little bit of footage
of Shelby working with her backpack.
And after you take your dog for a good long walk with that backpack on,
they tire out just a little bit easier.
Shelby's all tired now.
Good job, Shelby!
Bye!
