Finally Starting the Floors in the Living Room! 10/2/11

Look! The floor is almost empty. And look! New floor! Yay! New floor! We're actually going to put new floor on the floor today. Right now! We might have to paint that, because we're not sure that's going to look real good. The paneling on the floor. Once it's all together... Once it's all together, we'll decide. We might end up painting that paneling. We will! Look! Shelby! Yay! Ready, set, go! We had to vacuum all the dog hair. It took two vacuums. I still think, we missed some. Huskies shed a lot! A lot! A lot! Alright! I'll have to show you how this floor goes down. This is the Allure flooring. We'll show you how it goes together. Look! Jamie got the floor started. If I stand right here... Wait! If I stand right here, it looks finished. I'll show you guys how cool this is. These edges are like... Sticky and tacky. Just stick the piece in there. I'm going to buy a rubber mallet from Home Depot. We don't have one. That will help a little bit. Help on your hands, right? Yeah! Slide it in there. Then, just tap it in. That's pretty much it. Make sure them are all lined up and tight. Right in here. Look at the dog hair! Don't worry! I got it! Just one dog hair? This is our first time putting down a floor like this. First time you've ever done a floor like this too, right? Yeah! I've done a real floor. I've done a real hard wood floor. I'm going to get you a rubber mallet, so you don't start going... My hand hurts! I get to help! Yeah! My job is to pull these out. There's like papers in between. I get the papers in between and have the next pieces ready and hand them to Jamie. Right? Right! I'm not doing my job with one hand. Oh crap! I got to put you guys down. Get her! Did you get an apple? She's like, I don't want that! Shiloh does! Shiloh loves apples! No? Alright Shelby! You didn't even dare? She's like... No! See if Shiloh will take it from you! Want an apple Shiloh? Normally she eats them! Look! It's starting to look like a floor! Yay! Now, we got to slide the couch over and keep going this way. We already slid the TV over. I can't show you what I'm watching. It might be copyrighted. I'm watching bones! Yay! It's looking good so far. We're going out to dinner in like two and a half hours. Our goal is to have all this done to there. Right there! Before we go to dinner. We'll see! Shiloh and Shelby are exhausted. My mom and dad brought their dog over. They brought their big St. Bernard over to play. They're not even hanging out in the hallway. They're both laying on the bed sound asleep. That was nice! We don't feel so bad that they're not allowed in here. They're sleeping! Back to work! There's tired puppies! Tired Shelby! Are you sleepy? There's tired Shiloh! Did you guys have fun playing with Sunshine? Hmm? Why did you bring this nasty bone up here? How did you even get that out of the box? At least you guys are content hanging out in here while we work on the floor. Are you content? Are you snoring? Alright! I'm going back to work. You go back to sleep! Look! More floor! Slowly but surely! Look at that! It's looking so nice! We're done all the way up to here. Jamie's down there working in the hallway right now. I don't know how far we'll get before we go to bed tonight. We got some time! We just got back from dinner. We went to dinner with my family. My aunt's going back to Arizona for the winter. We all went out to dinner with her and some friends of ours. That kind of pushed us back a little bit on the floor. It was fun! We'll miss her! Bye Aunt Pat, if you're watching!
