Hey Shelby! Hey Shiloh!
Oh! I hear Oakley coming!
Hey Oakley! How's it going?
This video is gonna be a little bit different.
I have a story to tell you guys and I think, it needs to be told.
I'm gonna have a tendency to turn the camera away to the dogs for a lot of this.
We'll try to get through this.
My very first YouTube channel that I ever had was TheKittyKat79.
I used to upload just random videos on there to share with family and friends
of the dogs or whatever we were doing at the time.
Back then, I used to watch a lot of different YouTubers
but I never really done a video response or really talked to anybody from YouTube.
I didn't have the dogs channel at the time.
There was SMP Films. It was a channel that I regularly watched.
Back then, Cory from SMP Films had done the mean kitty song.
Which became a really popular song and he started a new channel.
It was the mean kitty channel.
He posted a video on the mean kitty channel.
It was of him and Nathan Wills.
You guys will recognize that name because he's allowed me to use a lot of the music
that he's written in the wordless Wednesday videos that I've done with the girls.
Anyway, they posted this video called Cats of Autumn.
It was a song that Cory and Nathan did together.
In the video it said,
Download this track for free and show us videos of your pets.
Share your pets with us.
I did a video.
It was like a montage of videos I've done of Shiloh and Shelby throughout the year.
I put it to the music and I did it as a video response.
It was the first video response I've ever done.
Overnight, it got like a thousand views.
Which doesn't really seem like a lot.
When I went from getting like fifteen views on a video to a thousand views overnight.
It was really exciting for me.
Cory tweeted it out.
Nathan tweeted it out.
Cory commented on the video.
I believe Nathan commented on the video.
I was so...
I was inspired by the music to make the video.
Then I was inspired by the response I got.
I told Jamie that I wanted to make a channel dedicated to the dogs.
I think I even tweeted or messaged Cory and Nathan.
Asking them if they thought I should try doing weekly videos of the dogs.
If people would enjoy it.
Because I had no idea.
I never really done YouTube like that before.
I always just watched videos.
I never done much more than that.
So anyway...
I uploaded the video.
Got the great response.
I believe that was on...
It was in November.
2009 when I did that.
I ended up the next day.
I believe it was.
The next day or within the next few days.
I started going to the snow dogs.
Went out and got a new camera.
I was so excited that people liked to watch the dogs.
I wanted to share more.
I had so many great comments on the video.
People really enjoyed seeing that.
How happy it made them.
Things like that.
I was really inspired to make more videos about the dogs.
Over time...
As I got to know more people.
Like I said, I became friends with Nathan.
We talked through Twitter.
We talked through YouTube.
We talked on Facebook.
I really...
Oh my goodness!
I really liked his music.
If you go to NathanWillsMusic.com
You can still get his albums that he's put out.
Sorry! This is a hard video to do.
Anyway, I had gotten to know Nathan.
I had been listening to his albums.
I had this idea for this thing I wanted to do on my channel.
Called, Wordless Wednesday.
Basically, what I wanted to do was take music tracks that I enjoyed.
That inspired me.
And take videos to go along with the music tracks.
I asked Nathan if I could use his music.
He allows a lot of people to use his music.
You probably heard his music in a lot of different videos.
He agreed.
I started doing Wordless Wednesday.
For a while there, I did it every Wednesday.
Now, I do it every once in a while.
Depending on if I have time.
I used to share those videos all the time with Nathan.
He was always so supportive.
Whenever I sent him a video, he liked how I used the track.
He liked the footage that I got.
He liked how it looked.
He's just always very supportive.
The reason I'm telling you all this is...
Friday, Nathan passed away.
I never thought...
I never met him in person.
We always talked on the internet and things like that.
I never really thought that...
Somebody could really have that much effect on your life.
Never having met him in person.
Like I said, we talked.
It was different.
I don't know how to explain it.
I don't know what I'm trying to say.
Basically, what I'm trying to say is...
He was a huge inspiration to my channel.
If him and Cory never would have put up the Cats of Autumn video...
I never would have made a video response.
You guys might not be seeing this right now.
You might never have known Shiloh, Shelby and Oakley.
We may never had the chance to show you their lives.
To show you and teach you things.
Do Fan Fridays and all of that.
It all started...
Because of one video.
Because of two people that made a video for fun.
I responded.
I think that's why...
Nathan's death has really affected me.
A lot.
Which sucks.
Death sucks anyway.
I hope you guys know what I'm trying to say by doing this video.
This is really hard to talk about without crying on camera.
We'll just keep turning the videos at the cute puppies.
Look! Cute puppies!
We should hug cute puppies! Right?
Hug cute puppies!
Basically, this video is getting really long.
I feel like I'm just going on and on.
Basically, I just want to say that...
Nathan, thank you for...
always supporting what we did.
Thank you for the talks we had.
Thank you for your music.
Thanks for being a friend.
I'll miss you.
I'm sure a lot of other people will too.
I don't know that you...
knew how loved you were.
How many people were really inspired by you.
But, we truly were...
inspired by you.
We just wanted to say...
We're going to miss you!
The track that you're hearing play in the background of this video...
is from Nathan's newest album,
Dreaming.
Like I said, you can go to NathansWills.com
or his music is also available on iTunes.
You can check it out there.
If you haven't listened to his music, you really should.
I'm sure most of you have heard it.
It's been in a lot of the wordless Wednesday videos.
But again...
I just want to say...
Thanks for all the memories!
We'll miss you!
I hope you are at peace!
