What? Are we waiting for your daddy, so we can go play in the snow?
Jamie's on skis. It's all right here with the pole. You got it tight enough?
There's the girls.
Don't go too far in case I have to save you because I don't know how you're gonna stop them.
I'm gonna sit on my butt.
Uh, maybe I'll talk to them. Stay.
Watch out for trees. Stay.
Move the sled.
Um, I think you're going. I think I might have to work for it a little bit. Just tell Shelby to hike.
I don't know why. So not only is this the first time we've ever used the skijoring belt.
It's the first time the dogs have ever done skijoring. This is a Shelby first too.
He's gonna turn around and come back at me.
Maybe. If he doesn't fall down first.
You getting turned around? Come on girls.
Shelby!
Shelby. Shelby, come here.
Good girl.
They want to stop and say hi. They're like, but mom. They want to say hi.
I think I'm wearing them out.
Good. They need to be wore out.
Hi girls.
They're like, oh, we gotta dip for snow. Hey, you're not supposed to dip. No dipping allowed.
Good girls. So what do you think?
I could probably use a couple more dogs.
I don't know that I've ever seen anybody ski with more than two. More than two? Oh man.
Yeah, I could see why. And you've got like old school skis, not new skis. Yeah, these are cross-country. I mean they're...
They work. I like your skis. They're a little bit wider. They probably keep me balanced a little bit better.
We just have to get you boots for mine. I have a pair of ski...
boards.
Instead of cross-country skis. Oh.
What? Are you tired? Yeah, I think they're tired. They're probably hot. I'm hot.
They're both panting. They're like, okay. It's warm. We're done.
You're not done yet. You gotta go for a little bit longer before you get tired. Are you gonna take them again? Yeah.
See, if you guys want to do this for real next year, we need to condition you. Yep. Right?
Yep, I bet every time we go, we'll go a little bit further. Yep.
She's tired already. Yep. Yep. Yep. They're like, we'll just eat some snow. Oh Shelby, what are you doing?
Round two. Silly girl.
Oh, they're gonna get tangled. Hey girls, come this way.
That was a good move, Jamie.
Hey, you can't tangle me. What are you doing? Here, we'll just keep them there. I'm stuck. I can stand on your skis.
I was just stopping them for you.
They're ready to pull again. Okay, and apparently she doesn't want to do it.
No, apparently not. She's gonna pull you some more.
Bye. See you later.
Hill.
And he's done. I think I got most of that on camera.
Why are you trying to grab my sled?
Oh, you did. Thank you.
I gave Jamie the dogs back. We made it to the truck and I dropped the sled off and I gave him the dogs back.
It didn't seem like they were done pulling, so
I figured they could pull them to the truck and I'll walk. Truck's right up there anyway.
This is inevitable. Every time I take Shelby sledding,
she thinks that she gets to lay in the front seat when she's all done because she did such a good job.
Hey Shelby. Are you tired? Where am I gonna sit?
You gotta get in the back. Shelby.
Shelby.
Shelby, can I have my seat? Will you get in the back?
She's like, no. This seat is heated and even though I'm hot, this is comfortable.
Shelby.
You have to move.
Bite him. Bite him.
Come on. Get in the back.
She's like, I'm not moving until mom actually moves. Fine. Make me move.
Good girl, good girl.
