BOND WITH YOUR DOG

It's time for Fan Friday! We're gonna try to film this in between the noise of the neighbors putting on a roof and the neighbors over there building a house and the crazy storm that just rolled through. Alright you guys! If you are new to the channel, that is Oakley. This is Memphis. That is Shelby. Apparently Squirrel friend is up in the tree up there. My name is Jess and this is Fan Friday. Fan Friday is a day where we answer questions submitted by you guys, the fans. If you want to leave a question and possibly have it answered in another episode of Fan Friday, just leave it down in the comments below using the hashtag askGTTSD. Let's get to some questions. First, we wanted to remind you guys that there are still limited edition posters available. Let me show them to you. So here's your reminder. These are the posters that we are doing. They are signed and pawtographed. Link up in the cards and down in the video description below if you want to get one. Second, many of you have asked about Shelby's birthday. Yes, her birthday is coming up. It is not until August the 8th. She will be getting a birthday video just like all the other dogs did. So if you want to send her a birthday card or something else for her birthday video, you can send it to the PO box listed on the screen. Again, her birthday is August the 8th. So just make sure it gets here before that. CookieMonster195 says, How do you rebuild a bond with your dog? My dog and I are working on rebuilding our bond and I'm struggling getting us to the same level of trust and love that we once have. I think it's going to be just that. It's going to be a lot of trust, a lot of patience, a lot of time. Make sure you're doing a lot of fun positive activities together. If you can go to any type of training classes, those seem to work really well when it comes to bonding with your dog. Any type of agility class or training class, even if your dog has been through those before, I would suggest going through and doing them again. Because those can be some real... Apparently the little cart smells good today. Those can be some really great ways to bond with your pets. If anybody else has any suggestions for that, leave them down in the comments below. Kira Rutter says, My two year old Pipples inside paw is suddenly stained red. It's not blood, but I don't know what they are. They are red in color. What do you think it is and what do you suggest I do? I know I've told you guys this over and over and over in the past. Questions like this are something you probably should refer to your vet. Red paws can mean a lot of different things. Some dogs paws are lighter in color. So you'll see a little bit of red. Sometimes it means they may have been burned. Sometimes they may be having an allergic reaction. So I would definitely suggest a visit to your vet. Sheepy says, My seven and a half month old Husky has stopped growing and is still very small. What do I do? Your Husky is not done growing at seven and a half months old. They don't really finish growing until they're between one and a half to two years old. So as long... And Huskies aren't supposed to be big. I think this is a common misconception that a lot of people have. Due to poor breeding practices, a lot of times Huskies are bred a lot bigger than they're supposed to be. But like the AKC standard of a Husky is females should not be over 55 pounds and males should not be over 65 pounds. And females can be as little as 35 pounds. So that's not a very big dog. I mean realistically, I know they look big but they're kind of fluffy. They're really not supposed to be a big dog. So I would just wait it out a little bit. If you think maybe they're a little bit underweight, talk to your vet. See what your vet thinks. Make sure they're getting a good balanced diet. And yeah, Huskies are also supposed to be a very lean dog. I mean you shouldn't be necessarily seeing their bones but they are a very lean dog. They do have a very high metabolism. So I would definitely talk with your vet and see what they think about the health of your Husky. Sharon says, Are you going to do videos on the business side of your trip to Chicago? What exactly did you do with the dogs and what company were they working with? Gabby says, I know that your Huskies are all purebred but have you heard of any accurate reliable DNA tests? Our Husky puppy was a rescue with no history and he's really small compared to other Huskies her age. Again, this goes back to what I said before. A lot of Huskies are bigger than they're supposed to be because people don't breed to breed standards and you have backyard breeders and so on and so forth. But as for the DNA test, we have used two of them. We have used the Wisdom Panel DNA test and the Embark DNA test. I will put links to the DNA tests, affiliate links to the DNA tests and to the videos where we have done each test. And my battery died. We've actually done both of those DNA tests on Oakley. Both of them came back and said she is 100% Siberian Husky. I will put the links to the videos and the affiliate links down in the video description below so you can check those out. Between the two, I think I like the Embark test better because I like all of the stuff that it tests for but I think the Wisdom one is now different than from when we did it before. As well! We got some mail! Let's open it up! This is from Abby! Look! She sent the Mississippi Mud Pie Oreos! You're the best! And some socks for Jamie which I might put on Shelby so she'll stop licking her foot. And some packaging for Memphis! Want me to make it pop? Why is this the best thing ever? Doesn't even have to pop. You just love it anyway. And we got a package of stuff from Cadence! This one is from Mia and Isabella from England. And then we got these amazing smelling candles from the Husky Candle Company. There is their Etsy store and there's their dog. These smell amazing! How did you know that lilac is my favorite scent? We got this beautiful piece of artwork! For those of you that are following us on Instagram, you may have seen this already because I retweeted it from the artist. This is the artist and all of the information if you want to get one for yourself. They were kind enough to send this to us and it's amazing. And now I'm gonna have to frame it and hang it somewhere. We got this postcard from Henry! Henry stayed in this epic Airbnb. What's really funny is Jamie and I were just looking at these the other day. How cool would that be to stay in this? And it's dog friendly! This is from Devon. It says, this is the other thing I made for you. So I'm assuming I may have something else from Devon as well. These are from Cassandra and Cassandra wants to know if we can do a DIY dog bagel. I'll add it to the list. That's a cute idea. This is from Sage. These are from Hannah. We got a letter from Samantha. This is from Edison and Edison wants to know if huskies are as gentle as golden retrievers. I think Memphis is. They're just a little bit more high strung than golden retrievers. This one's from Victoria. We got a super cute letter from Bella. I found the other letter in a drawing from Devon. I knew I'd find it in the pile. And a letter from Hannah. I have a feeling I'm going to say this name wrong. This one was from Biscayne. Biscayne? Tell me if I said that right. This letter and drawing are from Andrea. This one's from Rachel and Rachel wants to know if the dogs like blueberries. Well if you watched Monday's video we know that Memphis does but Memphis likes everything. Have we ever seen a praying mantis? Yeah we actually have one in a vlog from a couple years ago that was in our backyard. It was huge. They're pretty cool looking. And a get well soon card for Shelby from Alexa. We did do a full update video on Wednesday. As you can see her foot looks even better today. She has what six more days till those stitches can come out. We have still not heard back from our vet on what exactly it was. That was in her foot. Again we were told it was a fatty tumor but they sent it out to test it just to be safe. We should be hearing back from them anytime soon. And I will try to update that on social media as soon as we find out. If you missed Monday's video it was a new treat video.
