It's Fan Friday!
Oh! Don't yawn!
I know! I know!
So, we got a couple of questions we're going to answer for you guys today.
The first question is one that a lot of you have asked.
We've been asked this question a lot of times.
Can I drink some water?
I'm sorry! I won't video you drinking water.
We've been asked this question a lot of times.
Most recently...
Tamara from Facebook wants to know,
How much we feed Shiloh and Shelby a day?
Are they fussy eaters?
We're going to show you guys, what we feed Shiloh and Shelby.
How we feed them?
Because guess what? It's dinner time!
Is that why you are in here on the floor? Huh?
Are you waiting for your dinner?
Are you hungry?
Yeah! Let's make you some dinners!
Ok! As you can see, I have the bowls labeled.
This is Shelby's and this is Shiloh's.
I do feed them a combination of dry food and wet food.
Shiloh is on the Canada Day beef and ocean fish formula dry food.
Shelby is on the Canada Day all life stages.
Shiloh gets the other because she needs more iron and this food has more iron in it.
Basically, what I do is I mix in canned food.
Probably about a quarter of a can to two and a half cups of dog food a day is what they get.
I alternate. The first two days will be Canada Day and the next two days will be wellness.
This is the white fish and sweet potato formula.
You have to be careful when feeding your dogs canned food because sometimes it can upset their tummies.
Shiloh and Shelby do good on these two.
I only alternate between these two.
It kind of gives them a different taste each day.
Right? Are you hungry?
You want some food?
How about you?
I know, you definitely want some food because you're laying on the floor in the kitchen.
Let's make you some dinner, okay?
Okay!
What's this?
You get wellness mixed in your food today because you had Canada Day mixed in for the past two days.
The food is pre-measured out in these cups and I just pour them into the bowls.
I have two canisters I keep inside and I have big ones outside.
I use this bowl because it's easier to mix wet food in here than it is to try and mix it in here and not spill food everywhere.
This is actually the dog bowl.
We don't use it for anything else.
Since I have two dogs, one can of dog food lasts me two days.
I mix one quarter can in each of their foods every day.
What? Does it smell good?
Can you smell it?
You'll see when you go to mix it in there, it doesn't mix all that great.
That's why I use this big bowl.
You can take it and mix it like...
What do they call it?
Like whipping it.
If you don't coat all the nuggets, they'll spit out the nuggets that aren't coated.
Because yes, they are fussy eaters.
It doesn't look like that's going to coat it all, but it will.
You'll notice every nugget has wet food stuck to it.
Look! There's corn in it.
Or carrots.
That way, they'll actually eat it.
It smells like fish.
Then, I just pour it back in the bowl.
Also, if you're going to give your dogs wet food, you should definitely wash out their bowls every day.
You just can't get it yet.
Don't wait until their bowls are gone.
If you do this, remember to keep your cans in the fridge.
I take a Ziploc bag.
Drop the can in it.
Seal it.
So it doesn't sink up the fridge.
I just put that in the fridge until tomorrow.
Are you licking your ear?
What are you doing?
Now...
Make them work for food.
I didn't even say it yet.
Shelby, turn around.
One more time Shelby.
Turn around.
Good girl!
Shiloh, can you sit?
I didn't say it.
Sit!
Now speak!
You get yours first, cause he's older.
Want yours?
Good!
Is it good stuff?
That's what Shiloh and Shelby eat for dinner.
Yay!
I'm a good cook.
For the dogs.
I gotta wash out my bowl.
Wash a bowl every day.
What are you doing?
Our friend Terry from Facebook
wants to know,
if Shiloh and Shelby are microchipped.
Yes! Both Shiloh and Shelby are microchipped.
Shiloh was microchipped when we got her.
We didn't actually have to get hers done.
She already has hers.
Her and Shelby both have the home again microchip.
Is that feeling good right there?
That feels good right there.
Shelby, we got microchipped when we got her.
She was only... I don't know...
Twelve weeks old, I think.
Her first vet visit, we went ahead and got her microchipped.
Huskies can run a really long distance.
You just... You know...
They have tags, but you just never know
if the collars will break.
Both of them have the collars with the...
Let's find the clip.
Both of them have collars with the plastic clip.
You know...
They could break. They could get snagged on something.
You just don't know.
Microchipping, I think, is also a good idea.
Because, you know...
It doesn't happen everywhere, but there are people out there
that will steal dogs.
I mean, look at how cute they are.
Look at how cute you are!
Microchipping also helps in that way.
Because, if the dog ends up getting taken to the vet
or ends up in a shelter.
They could still contact you and say,
Hey! We have your dog or your cat!
Right?
I actually read an article the other day.
I'll try to find it and put a link down below
about a cat that had been missing for five years
and got returned to their owner
because it had a microchip.
You're just loving them scratches, aren't you?
You're loving them scratches!
We didn't get any pictures or anything
in the mail this week, but we did get this picture
submitted on our Facebook fan page
from Anna of Shiloh and Shelby.
I don't know how well you guys can see that,
but I love it!
Thank you!

How was your dinner?
It was pretty good!
Aww!
