Guess what we're doing today?
Hello Miss Memphis Belle!
Alright you guys! Don't let the title of this video freak you out too much.
Today, we're going to go over some health issues that Miss Memphis has been going through
over the past... It's been about three weeks now.
We haven't really shared a lot about it, because we don't really have a whole lot of information
and even now, I don't have all the answers.
But, I wanted to get a video out there, so you guys would know what's been going on
with beautiful Miss Memphis here.
So what has been going on with Miss Memphis here?
Well, three weeks ago Memphis had to take a trip to the emergency vet.
She had come outside and she was eating grass, which before I even go any further,
I will explain this.
Dogs eat grass.
Some dogs eat grass because they have an upset stomach.
But that's not the only reason dogs eat grass.
Some dogs eat grass because they enjoy it.
Some dogs eat grass because they're bored.
Like I said, some of them just like it.
My dogs eat grass every once in a while.
They've done it their entire lives.
Eating grass isn't a horrible thing.
It's not something you want to allow your dogs to do like all the time.
But I just kind of want to preface that, because I have a feeling a lot of you are going to be down
in the comments going,
oh she threw up because she ate grass.
Well, yes and no.
She came out here.
She was munching on some grass, which she does once in a while.
Again, not a huge deal.
I didn't try to stop her or anything.
Sometimes she does it and she's fine.
Sometimes she does it and she throws up, which is fine.
She's a dog.
That's what dogs do.
So I was out here with her and as you guys know,
I tend to come out here with the dogs a lot when they're out in the backyard
and she ended up throwing up, which again happens sometimes when they eat grass.
But this time it was bright red.
So I immediately called the vet.
We got her into the emergency vet.
We took her in.
She was acting completely normal as she is now.
She's eating fine.
She's drinking fine.
She's playing fine.
She's doing all the things that she always does.
So when we got to the vet and they're like,
okay, well she's acting completely normal.
It could be an anomaly.
It could be a little scratch in her throat.
Like she could have ate something and scratched her throat because of the color.
Because it was very, very bright red.
Normally what that means is that it's an upper GI issue.
Basically it means she could be bleeding internally anywhere from the inside of her mouth
down into the upper part of her stomach.
So they gave us some medicine to like coat her throat and soothe her
and they sent us home and said,
well, if it happens again, we can run some tests.
So like a week and a half goes by.
She's completely normal again, acting completely normal, just as she was before.
And then she threw up again from eating grass and it was fine.
It wasn't red.
We're like, okay, cool.
This was just an anomaly.
About a week after that, it happened again and it was red again.
So called the vet, made an appointment for some tests.
Well, we went in for the tests this week.
And again, this is all the information I have so far.
We did blood tests.
We did x-rays.
They did all kinds of things and everything came back normal.
Her blood tests did have a few things that were a little tiny bit off.
But like the vet said, it was nothing to really be concerned about.
Nothing really that would be related to what's going on with her throwing up red.
So we have decided on Monday, which you guys are seeing this on Saturday.
So this coming Monday, Memphis will be going in for an endoscopy.
Basically what that is, is it's like a camera.
And I'm so fortunate that our local vets actually have this machine.
They're going to take a camera.
She does have to be put under anesthesia for this.
But they're going to take a camera and they're going to take a look down there
and see what they can see.
Now we're hoping that all they're going to find is maybe a little cut or a polyp
or maybe she has some type of an ulcer.
She doesn't really have any symptoms besides the red puke for an ulcer.
But still could be that.
We're hoping it's nothing major.
But that's kind of where we're at right now with Memphis.
And we share a lot on this channel when it comes to the good, the bad, the ugly, the truth.
And I wanted to make sure that we got this information out to you guys about Miss Memphis.
Again, I don't want to scare you guys.
I don't want you guys to be super worried about her.
Really, she's been acting completely normal.
If you're not watching the vlog channel over at youtube.com slash Snow Dogs Vlogs,
you can kind of see over there.
She's been doing everything that she normally does.
We've been going for our nightly walks.
You know, it's a little bit warm and humid here in the summertime.
So we've been going for our nightly walks.
She's had her doggy friends over.
Like she's doing everything normal.
And I'm sharing this with you guys for two reasons.
One, again, we like to keep you guys in the loop of what's going on with the dogs.
One, it's therapeutic to talk to you guys about things like this sometimes.
Kind of makes me feel a little bit better.
And two, who knows?
There may be somebody out there that's watching this that may have gone through the same thing
and they may have some suggestions for what could be going on with Miss Memphis.
Are you gonna dig in that hole?
You're allowed.
None of the other dogs are out here.
You could totally dig in that hole and nobody's gonna run into you and stop you.
She's like, really?
I could just dig here by myself?
You could, if that's what you want to do.
You're so cute.
So I know this video is kind of all over the place.
But basically over the past, what?
Three and a half to four weeks, Memphis has thrown up bright red, what?
Three times.
So she...
And the one time we took her to the emergency vet.
The other two times we called and let them know what was going on.
And then she had her appointment on, what?
Last week Monday.
Where she had all those tests run and now she has an endoscopy scheduled for this Monday.
So if you guys want to see like...
I'm going to try to do real-time updates here on our community tab.
You can also follow us on Instagram, Facebook, our Facebook group.
There's links down below to all of our other social sites.
Again, I don't want you guys to freak out.
Memphis is acting completely normal.
Everything coming out the back end is normal.
She's eating normal.
She's hiking as normal.
She's doing everything else normal.
She was swimming in the pool the other day with the other dogs.
So we're hoping it's something not major.
But we did want to get the information out there and let you guys kind of know
what's going on with the queen, with Miss Memphis.
Right Memphis?
She's like, it's so nice out here today you guys.
There's like the humidity's not here and I got friends coming over later
and there's no other dogs out here with me right now.
So I could just be myself.
Yeah, you like that?
She's like, I love it.
I love it so much.
So I hope this video made sense.
I feel like I rambled through the whole thing.
But I hope it made sense.
If you guys have questions, leave them in the comments below
and throughout the weekend I'll try to go through and answer as many as I can.
So yeah, that's it.
We're wishing Memphis well.
We'll be at the doctor on Monday.
She's going to be there at 8 a.m.
So hopefully everything will go smoothly
and we'll have some updates for you sometime later in the day on Monday.
Like I said, probably check the community tab here
or check Instagram or our Facebook page for the updates.
But anyway, that is all we have for you guys today.
We hope you enjoyed this video, even though it was just a health update video.
As always, thanks so much for watching.
Thanks for subscribing.
Stay positive, dream big
and we will see you again soon.
Come on Memphis, let's go inside.
She's like, okay.
Say, see guys, I still got my pups in my steps.
I'm right behind you.
We're gonna go inside.
She's like, yeah, but them other dogs is inside.
We could just stay out here and not have to deal with them.
You're right, we could.
Goodbye Pawdience!
