It’s Wednesday morning, a bit past 8 AM, and theoretically, I should be at the hospital seeing patients. But why am I here instead? The answer is today’s a typhoon day. It’s Wednesday, July 24th, and due to the typhoon, work and classes have been canceled. While staying home might sound relaxing, it actually brings more stress. Let’s talk about my thoughts and experiences on typhoon days and how it impacts my work as a doctor. Though the weather isn’t too bad now, it is expected to worsen in the afternoon, making commuting dangerous. Thus, for everyone’s safety, we’ve canceled work and classes. Let’s use this time to discuss the impact of typhoon days on healthcare and share some of my experiences.
