100 times more powerful than all warships - US begins construction of new generation combat vessels

[music] US President Donald Trump announced a bold plan on Monday for the Navy to build a new large warship that he called a battleship as part of a larger vision to create a golden fleet. "They'll be the fastest, the biggest, and by far 100 times more powerful than any battleship ever built," Trump claimed during the announcement at his Mara Lago resort in Florida. According to Associated Press, the ship, according to Trump, will be longer and larger than the World War II era Iowa class battleships and will be armed with hypersonic missiles, rail guns, and high-powered lasers. Those technologies were still being developed by the Navy. It's to counter everybody. It's not China. We get along great with China. I have a great relationship with President Xi. and not China. It's a just everybody. You don't know who comes along, but we just wanted peace through strength, Trump said. Hopefully, we never have to use them, but there will never be anything built like these. Trump said talks are going okay as the US continued to push for a peace between Russia and Ukraine. The talks are going along and they say that, you know, there's tremendous hatred between these two leaders, between President Putin, President Zilinski. Tremendous hatred and I hope we can get it done. We are talking, Trump said. Asked about Greenland, Trump said reiterated his previous call, saying, "We need Greenland for nation security. If you take a look at Greenland, you look up and down the coast, you have Russian and Chinese ships all over the place. We need it for national security. We have to have it," Trump added. >> It's beautiful. It's the first renderings of what we're doing. We're calling it the Golden Fleet that we're building for the United States Navy. As you know, we're desperately in need of ships. Our ships are some of them have gotten old and tired and obsolete, and we're going to go the exact opposite direction. As commander-in-chief, it's my great honor to announce that I have approved a plan for the Navy to begin the construction of two brand new, very large, largest we've ever built battleships. You know, you used to build the Iowa, the Missouri, the Wisconsin, the Alabama, many others. We had big battleships. These are bigger, but they will have 100 times the be 100 times the force, the power, and uh there's never been anything like these ships. These have been under design consideration for a long time. >> Thank you. >> These are the best in the world. I just wanted to know what your response to that is. >> Well, he has to watch because, you know, he's got drug factories. They make cocaine in Colombia and uh he's no friend of the United States. He's very bad, very bad guy. And uh he's got to watch his ass because he makes cocaine and they send it into the United States of America from Colombia. We love the Colombian people. I love the Colombian people. They're great people, energetic, smart, great. But their new leader is a troublemaker. And the talks are going along. And I say that, you know, there's tremendous hatred between these two leaders, between President Putin, President Zalinski. tremendous hatred and I hope we can get it done. Russian troops have carried out a special operation near the city of Costantinoka in Ukraine's Donetsk region. This was announced by Chchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchchenin leader Ramzan Kadirov recently the chchen leader emphasized that soldiers of the 78th sea Ahmat motorized rifle regiment and the 1,194th motorized rifle regiment of the fourth separate guards motorized rifle brigade successfully pushed back Ukrainian forces. However, the Ukrainian military says the Russians suffered significant losses in this direction. Anastasia Khalitka, head of the communications department of the fourth separate heavy mechanized brigade, says [music] that the invading Russian army continues attempts to take control of the Ukrainian defense [music] forces logistical routes in the Costantina direction. There are enemy attempts to take control of our logistics routes in the Costantin [music] direction. However, if we're talking specifically about the city of Costantinoka and its surroundings, [music] the Russians are now concentrating their efforts to approach the city in small groups. They are taking advantage of weather conditions. Right now, the weather in Donbas [music] is quite foggy and trying to infiltrate. This is their tactic which has been tested in more than one direction and more than one settlement, Khala said on Espresso TV. She also emphasized that fighting in urban areas has always been difficult regardless of whether it involves defense or offense. Obviously, if we're talking about urban development, it's a completely different specificity. In cities, it has always been more difficult to defend and to attack. Therefore, this factor needs to be taken into account, she added. Besides Pakovsk, this town is the last link in a defensive chain holding Russians at bay for nearly four years. Now with Pakovsk occupied and over 100,000 Russian troops pushing the front, Costantinoka remains [music] the last pillar along the Donets ridge. Its fall would expose Krammatsk and Slavansk, the largest Ukrainian-held cities in Donetsk, and leave Khakib's southern flank vulnerable. Ukrainian teams hit Russian positions, halt supply deliveries, pick off soldiers here. Russian military expert Vasil Dandikkin claims that Russian armed forces could invade Costantinovka in the Donetsk by the end of winter. Costantinovka is a large city. Fighting is underway now and it's [music] getting close to being overrun. As happened in Krasnomsk, Russia may be creating a cauldron for the Ukrainian armed forces using barrage tactics. Our troops are already liberating hundreds of buildings a day in Costantinovka. I think the city will be captured fairly soon. In fact, the operation to liberate [music] the last part of the DPR has begun. I think it will happen fairly quickly. Not this year, but quite possibly in the winter. Dandikin said earlier Russian defense minister [music] Andre Bellosov stated that Costantinoka currently under attack would be the key to Kiev's last [music] stronghold in Donbas. He referred to the Duskovka Kmatsk [music] Slavanskomeration. [music]
