Hi everybody, it's Shasha with Action
News's fitness tip. I'm at the AV
Apartments in King of Pressia. Weights
up. Let's get to work on those legs.
It's time. Now listen, I'm just for
reference, I'm just using 5 lbs.
However, if I was going to do this for
real, like on my own, I would definitely
use a heavier weight. So, you can decide
what weight works for you, right? One
thing to really keep in mind is if
you're compromising form, if you're not
able to keep your balance, if you're not
able to get your knee really low into
our reverse lunge, you're just going too
heavy. And that's you're going to have
to lighten the weight, right? Form over
everything. Remember that. Okay. So,
there's my little PSA. Let's get to
work. I'm going to hold the weights
here. Okay. Taking that right leg back.
We're going to go into a reverse lunge
where we're dropping that right knee
down into that angle. From here, our abs
are in and we're going to twist towards
that front leg. Then we're going to come
up and lift that knee, engaging our
core, coming right back into a reverse
lunge. Twisting center and lift. Right
now, this is done slowly on purpose
because I want you to really focus on
twisting. And when you twist, right,
you're not just twisting the weights.
You're twisting your torso, right? So,
watch this. When we're here, look at my
shoulders. I twist center and come up.
Now,
you okay? We're okay. We're fine. It's
actually really effective. I love this.
Okay, we're working with it. You want to
take it up a notch? Come on. Of course
you do. Of course you do. Well, here. I
got something for you. We're going to
add a press. You ready? Let's go. Let's
take the reverse lunge. So, we're going
to lunge just like we did before. Twist.
Now, watch this. Press and lunge again.
Twist. Abs in. Press. Oh, yeah. Now
we're full body. Now we're full body.
I'm sweating. I'm sweating. This is
great. I got to use this in one of my
classes. Push.
I liked it. What we do on the left, we
do on the right. How many do we do?
Well, I would start with at least 12,
right? If you get to eight and you're
gassed, then stop at eight. Right? You
want to be challenged, but you don't
want to overtrain. You don't want to do
too many to where you're compromising
form. That's how it goes. So, you do
what you can. You challenge yourself.
You keep your body strong. And listen,
strength training is essential as we get
older, especially for so many of my
clients are going through pmenopause
menopause, right? We need weights and it
doesn't have to be heavy weights. So,
get your body stronger, keep it moving,
and try this one today.
