Day 237 - Welcome Home

today is the day we are moving to our forever property forever uh the the the shop is not quite ready for the camper but we're we're ready we're we're ready to get out there we're going to run off the generator for a few days until we get electricity hooked up that's okay we have uh uh heat from propane here in the winter time so it's better to do this now than the summertime where we have to run the AC which uses a lot more electricity so so I've got a lot to do to button up the inside of the camper I've got to get the outside of the camper ready to go my dog knows that something's up It's Going Bonkers like we're about to go we're about to move this dog can sense it it's insane how well this dog can sense this trailer about to be hooked up to the truck it is crazy the slide has not been in for 8 months I hope it still works all right well that sure does make it feel small in here you have served us well but I am moving on we have two sets of stairs on this camper the back door has the old flip out kind and people don't like them because I think they're flimsy I love those because you don't track as much crap back into the camper and you don't have to go through this whole process of setting up stairs like this set of stairs these are they fold up and it just all this dirt and crap is going to get inside the camper and you're going to have to clean that out once we get to our destination and it's just it's just annoying do not like these stairs at all [Music] [Music] a [Music] I remember this being a pain in the butt just because I can't get this handle to go up underneath the camper I don't need much I just need to be able to get this stuff out from underneath the tire oh getting close [Music] yes yes jeez Louise [Music] twist oh something fell inside that didn't sound good [Music] ah you working got any power no barely any power those batteries toast H it's a different size let's see not quite W all right very grateful for family allowing us to use this cow pasture to call home for the past 8 months but I'm hooked up I'm ready to go and I don't know if you can hear it but my dogs are in the truck just going absolutely Bonkers they know something's up they know something's up still have to come back after we get the camper moved and uh pick up the yard and make it all nice and tidy and whatnot but just got to get the camper moved right now we'll be back it's a 33t toy hauler bumper pole and my truck so far has handled it quite well we actually took this set up on a uh two-month road trip we went to Michigan uh and see let's see we stopped in Kentucky then Michigan then Michigan again then Michigan for the third time and then uh Ohio Indiana and then back home two weeks out on on the road with this setup really really like it now we did that a year before we actually moved out here and we actually went camping uh 16 times in 15 months so we were very acclimated to this camper and we knew right from the beginning that we would have no problems doing the whole camper life thing while we figure out the land so this this land thank you so much onward going home buddy you are just you know something's up don't you you know something's up right this drive from our camper spot to the property is normally 8 minutes and um it's on an Old County Road that's just full of major dips and bumps um and this truck without the camper I don't like doing 55 it's just way too not like not like little little bitty bumps but like 10t wide bumps that make the whole vehicle do these big dips so I'm not going to hit 30 mph uh the camper I know is overloaded I know we're pulling more weight in the camper than what it's rated at we just have so many belongings in it and I I I just needed to go uh I think it's actually 6 miles I just needed to go 6 miles that's it it's not on the highway I'm running with my hazard lights on people are being respectable driving around me and whatnot so all is well all is well oh there goes one of my uncles he didn't notice us here's one of the bumps that's not too bad at 20 M hour I think this guy behind me wants to pass though I got I got to pay attention come f [Music] H you know how this thing turns I'm just going to watch more make sure you you got lots of there I Ain even worried about that when up here close and then turn what that noise yeah come on you're good all right you're inside the doorway there so you should be able to kind of jack knife it around and get straight in the other corner is what I'm worried about now you're good if you start turning in from there you got your [Music] clear yeah start cutting it you're inside the building both Corners are in the building come on you're hitting this you're hitting this bump right here is a weird spot we've almost made it the ground's not a problem it's being too soft I just got a a high spot right there buddy Jeremy's helping me out this dude's helped me out so much man it's it's good to have friends like Jeremy all right wait wait I'm in the way don't tell him all right I am now out of the way hang on let me get Tyler you stay right where you are do not move okay all right straighten up the concrete well Daddy cannot see that the back of that so you stay right where you are off to the side [Music] okay go like down if I can like not don't go here no you stay right where you are okay nothing he can't run over you where you are stay right where you are okay he can't see you clear you [Music] who whoa whoa dragon dragon dragon like Dragon there's a dragon [Music] you're ridiculously close but you're right there okay yeah I'm right here I need to make sure I don't get back yeah you're good come on keep coming got 15 ft all right 5 ft yeah [Music] [Music] don't H just a little more can all right that's my see [Music] app let go that time almost there [Music] you back up a little bit you can tell [Music] I get H on Center come on all right so what I'm going to do is I'm going to back up then I'm going to force it this way and then hug the wall [Music] yeah more Val way I need you made by the back wall [Music] [Music] go we'll eventually have to go get some cinder blocks for these corner corner Jack I this camera was up there I'm sorry that's fine it's fine let me catch you doing it again e with a bur you heard it J I heard it I'm just going to sit back and let it happen because I'm not going to get beaten for we did it we did it we did it we did it um ah that's awesome camper in we jumped the gun on it I got I got a little bit too trigger happy with this I said let's go let's just just get it done I I made the decision yesterday I said let's get it done we will be on the property and we will find a way to get everything else done we will be here and that'll Force our hand to make sure everything is done in a timely manner well we don't have electricity so I don't know if you can hear in the background the generator is running so we have 20 amps coming out of the generator I don't have the correct plug adapter to get 30 amps but that's okay because it's winter time so we're not running the air conditioner which is a big offender and then we're not running the uh electric water heater which is also a big offender so we may have enough electricity I think we do to run one of our radiant oil heaters and then of course we have uh propane heat propane furnace and then a propane water heater so we should be pretty pretty good until they get electricity hooked up hopefully this week if not next week for sure um so getting by with just with the generator that's no problem at all um let's see what else oh so we're running the propane here in the shop there's a carbon monoxide detector inside the camper I just tested it make sure it works uh I'm going to get another carbon monoxide DET carbon monoxide detector it's so cold my my jaw's not wanting to move um for inside the shop I don't think carbon monoxide is going to be an issue in here um just because there just a tremendous volume of space and then of course opening doors here and there it's it's not like super super super like spray foam sealed you know what I'm saying uh but it's plenty sealed enough and the insulation is plenty good enough and there's enough thermal Mass from the large concrete slab uh I was talking with my friend Duffy newow Stark full civil war arsenal I know he watches these videos so hey Duffy how you doing um and he said he monitored his his building which is very similar to this and he's never seen it below 40° uh he does not heat or cool it so that's that's good feedback good information um uh yeah I'm just kind of scatter right trying to figure out what all we have to do electricity like I said should be hooked up in the next week or so I still have to run a couple circuits here in the shop I'm working on lighting from my friend Jim Uno from American greenlights you go to American greenl lights.com check out his stuff uh he's he's he's helped me out quite a bit over the past three shops now this will be the third shop he's helped me out in and uh that's really really cool uh water I will water and sewer I'll probably hook up tomorrow I've got everything plumbed in I just need to make a a materials list and go get a couple things and and then we'll have water and sewer uh yeah yeah it's it's exciting it's it's it's really exciting we already brought two trailer loads of stuff here uh just my utility trailer 7x6 utility trailer outside the shop looks like an it just looks like a junkyard here the contractors weren't clean just throwing crap everywhere we haven't been clean just throwing crap everywhere just trying to you know get stuff done and trying to stay ahead of other people has we've spent zero zero time picking up the yard and we need to the yard I can say that now the yard we have a yard we have a forest anyway um that's it for tonight there's no lights here in the shop Sun is setting we got to go get a couple groceries and um I'll check in tomorrow life is good [Music]
