Solo Female Travel in the PHILIPPINES - is it safe?

you know i was craving some beach time i spent too much time in manila to be honest and i thought okay you know what nelly why not and try and do a trip all by yourself yeah i'm just jumping onto the motorbike and see where it takes me [Music] hi guys and welcome to the very very first solo travel vlog on this channel with nelly so i don't know if you guessed it already but i am in el nido and it is so beautiful the last time i was here was actually pre-pandemic and we didn't have that much time to explore and you know just spend some time here to see other areas than uh the island hopping to us so yeah i'm here to basically do that and do some yoga while mike is focusing on his uh flight school i spent too much time in manila to be honest we came back from our international travels we had a very short trip to san juan in la union but you know i was craving some beach time and since mike is not available at the moment i thought okay you know what nelly why not and try and do a trip all by yourself and you know just uh have a different travel experience so today i'm basically taking you along through my day i'm here at karankarang beach and yeah i'm just jumping onto the motorbike and see where it takes me like a bird with open wings i can do anything [Music] so i'm currently walking here in the pops district this is an area where you have a lot of island tour hopping operators a few shops restaurants but unfortunately a lot of the places are empty as a result of the pandemic so that's really sad to see yeah and even those who are operating are empty so i hope tourism will bounce back and that was actually also a reason for me to you know vlog my whole experience here in el nido and just show you the beauty of this area not just the island hopping what you can do to make people come back and crave the same thing that i've experienced hi how are you oh god we're living are you leaving okay okay so these lovely people i met them yesterday basically actually the day before yesterday right yeah and this is alex right hi alex has a beautiful beautiful jewelry line thank you she has really beautiful jewelry these earrings are from her jewelry line i'll link it in cute i was walking by the beach and she just came and said um hi and then she kind of stopped and i was like oh maybe she recognized me and then she's like do you like jewelry and i'm like yeah obviously i do and then she said oh would you like to you know help me out with a little shoot for for my jewelry brand and yeah and i decided to say yes to it and we took a few pictures by the beach and she gifted me these earrings and a necklace actually two necklaces yeah super cute check it out it's so beautiful and here's my ride for the day little scooter spinelli okay got a ride safe and i also have you know proper shoes just for safety all right there we go ah by the way i'll explain this later [Music] okay that was a very very short ride just because i had to turn around and go back to the hotel because i forgot to bring some cash so yeah i have to withdraw some money totally forgot about it usually mike is the one who carries the cash so yeah i only have a few pesos with me so quicker cash refill and then let's go [Music] all right i made it to the beach i'm currently at leo beach i had a cup of coffee atlas machinas really really great coffee and i'm also going to do a dedicated video for the beach because i think it's it's worth its own video hi just going to give you a little sneak peek of what it looks like it's currently almost sunset time so it's the time of the day [Music] [Music] okay quick little sneak peek of leo beach it's so stunning here look at this guys so beautiful it looks much better in real life when you're here oh but yeah as mentioned i'm going to do a dedicated video i just wanted to mention something so when i mentioned uh these earlier on these are scent fly bites and i got them here so yeah not so cool i'm headed back to uh korankarang beach and i'm going to enjoy the sunset and i'm going to show you a very very nice sunset spot i definitely want to go back before sunset so i don't have to drive in the dark it's not recommended because there's always something on the road yeah something that i wanted to mention is i rented the scooter for 500 pesos per day i booked it for a week so i got a little discount originally it was 600 which is uh which is a good price it's yeah the airport is right over there the plane literally lands by the beach so cool motorbike rental yeah um so i got a better deal for a whole week and i didn't want to negotiate more because you know pandemic has happened uh so you know i don't want to push prices i was happy about the discount for the weekly rental that was offered from the rental place so that's fine excited for this sunset it's going to be a good one a few moments later okay i made it to the spot sunset is happening it's looking amazing yeah i'm still by the road so i need to make my way down so bear with me he arrived at vanilla beach currently going down to the beach unfortunately a lot of the places here have closed down to the pandemic as well there's a really nice restaurant here closed so sad all together everyone line it up and chase the sun alrighty i am back at the hotel back in my little hammock here um i'm directly by the beach and it's stunning it's a sunny day it's the end it's actually the next day i forgot to close the vlog yesterday yeah what i wanted to say is it was really a very different day just you know roaming around by myself and exploring taking my own time and just you know just doing things on my own uh quite interesting and also you know i met a lot of people along the way which is a very new experience everything is very easy easily accessible everybody's very open to conversations everybody's very helpful so yeah if you are a solo traveler definitely don't be afraid to come to the philippines because it is one of the most accommodating countries uh with very hospitable and friendly people who will help you out in any situations when you need advice or directions or you know just some company and yeah i'm going to do a dedicated video on my first solo trip about the whole experience on my channel nelly's life uh yes i'm reactivating my channel i will also do a lot of you know just property tours um specifically you know the places that i'm staying here at in el nido so this is one of the cheaper accommodations that i booked which is directly by the beach but i'll also have some really really nice accommodations that i want to show you and yeah here on the vlog channel i'll just uh do the things that we always do kind of just capture my day and take you along and share my thoughts and my experiences and take you along through my eyes so you can kind of get an idea of what to expect when you come to el nido with that being said it's a very hot day i'm going to head out
