It was about time to bring my boyfriend to one of my favorite places in the world, El Nido in the Philippines.
Hi, welcome to Big Lagoon!
Welcome to Big Lagoon, let's go!
And the unexpected happened.
First time in the Philippines, first time stung by a jellyfish.
But the beauty of El Nido made up for it.
How do you like it?
Super nice.
Lunch hits differently here.
Alright, this is going to be our lunch spot.
It's not bad at all, I would say.
Not bad, right?
This is so good.
We might even see some reef sharks here.
And the tour guide assured me they would be nice.
They are vegetarian.
Yes, but they don't eat people.
Good morning from El Nido!
Today we are going to do tour A,
which I haven't done so far.
I've been to El Nido many times,
but this is the first for me.
So I'm super, super excited.
I also have my boyfriend with me.
And it's going to be his first time
exploring the Philippines
and seeing the beautiful nature here.
So that's going to be exciting.
Hopefully, it will clear up.
The weather is looking fine.
But otherwise, let's go.
We arrived in Big Lagoon.
We are going to take a kayak
to explore the inner parts
of the island.
We made it.
Hi, welcome to Big Lagoon.
Welcome to Big Lagoon. Let's go.
Look at the water.
So nice.
Oh my goodness.
It's so freaking beautiful.
How do you like it?
Super nice.
Super nice, right?
Oh, this is so good.
Yeah?
Yeah, that's life.
Welcome!
Big Lagoon was definitely a good first stop
to get a first impression of this paradise.
But we didn't know what was about to come.
Okay, we made it back to the boat.
We have a patient here.
There was an incident with a jellyfish.
And...
Jellyfish.
Good job, love.
Definitely not what we wanted.
But are you feeling okay?
So when they say it stinks a little bit...
Yeah, a little bit.
A little bit.
He was like, ah, it hurts so much.
Yeah, we have a crew
that is going to help us out here on the boat.
Okay, we made it
to Secret Lagoon.
This is one spot
where you have to swim to the beach.
Which is fine because
the water is just
heavenly.
I just have to keep an eye open
for some jellyfish.
Oh wow, this looks tight.
Watch your head.
Don't make the hole bigger.
Don't scratch the stone because stone is expensive.
Expensive stone?
Yeah.
We made it.
Secret Lagoon.
Wanna say hi to the vlog?
Yes, hi.
Secret Lagoon.
Welcome to Secret Lagoon.
I guess I'll just go to the beach that is outside.
Just chill a little bit.
This is so pretty with the limestone
on top.
Wow. I love the Secret Lagoon
because I saw there is this
beautiful beach.
Oh, jellyfish.
Right here.
I'm going to have a look.
Lots of limestones again.
Look at this.
This is gorgeous.
We have an island dog here.
Hi, kitty. How did you make it to this island?
Hello.
Hi, island kitty.
Wow.
Insane.
What?
Look at this.
How?
It's just so pretty.
I think this is the prettiest beach
I've been to in El Nido so far.
Yeah, honestly,
Secret Lagoon, you can skip that one
because it's basically just
this little rock formation.
But this, yeah,
this is it.
This is what you actually should
come for.
You guys know that I love
sharing my travel hacks with you
especially if you space
you from some major headaches
that I had in my past.
I have traveled to over 50 countries
and one of the most frustrating things
about traveling used to be the moment
I landed and had zero connection.
No maps, no way to message
anyone. Just running around and
desperately searching for Wi-Fi to be able.
Search for a nearby place to go
and grab some food.
Luckily, times have changed
and I no longer have to
worry about connectivity
especially with Airalo that lets
you connect to the internet with an eSIM
the second you arrive.
Without switching, physical SIM cards,
overpaying or waiting in line
at the airport.
I just used Airalo on my recent trip
and installing it was so simple.
I opened the app, picked my destination,
downloaded the eSIM and that was it.
I stayed connected the whole time
even during long layovers
and in remote areas because
Airalo covers over 200
countries so I no longer
worry about roaming fees or
surprise charges from my home provider.
Plus, everything is
100% digital. No waste,
no stress. And if you want to
try it out, I will leave a link in
the description box down below. Also
in the pinned comment. You can install the
Airalo app for free and use my code
to get $3 off your first
eSIM. And trust me when I say
it makes travelling so much easier
especially because
I don't have to carry around
all of these SIM cards that I have here.
These are just a few that I have
with me all the time but you know
I have this, I have this, I have this.
I just recently travelled
to Japan so I definitely don't need
to pack this anymore. So yeah,
check it out in the description box down below.
And now, back to the vlog!
Alright, this is
going to be our lunch spot.
Not bad at all I would say.
Not bad, right?
We're all hungry.
I've done these tours so many times
and still
every time I arrive here
I'm just like, what?
It's just so pretty.
It's really stunning.
I mean, blue skies, turquoise waters,
beautiful nature,
the limestones are incredible,
the beach.
There we go,
we have some fish, some noodles.
Beer delivery!
Wow, San Miguel!
Thank you!
Yeah, this is how it works here on the island.
You have a boat delivery
and all of the food that they bring
they take it back again
so no trash is left behind.
And when you are here also, please take your trash
because we want to keep this place
pristine as is.
I've been to El Nido like I said so many times
and still I'm so blown away
and the tour guides here are doing
such an amazing job in preserving
and educating that this place
is in fact God's creation
and we should keep it
as beautiful as it is
for many, many generations
so that our children can also experience it the same way
and hopefully
when they watch this video someday
it will be the same.
And just like that, we're back on the boat.
So Cuya, what's the name of the island?
This island is called Semezu
and the meaning of Semezu is
a Japanese word, clean.
Clean crystal water.
Crystal clear waters, I mean, look at this.
So blue.
It's insane. It was really nice to have
our lunch spot here and the next stop is?
We're going to a snorkeling area.
Yay!
If you're lucky, you can see sharks
or turtles.
Keeping fingers crossed.
I love sharks.
My mom doesn't want me to go after them but I like them.
Sharks?
Sharks, yeah.
But you have the white shark.
The shark in the Philippines
is very friendly.
Very small.
If you dive in Australia,
the shark will eat you immediately.
Okay, I will
not dive in Australia but I know
the sharks here are very friendly.
We have a coral shark.
And they are vegetarian.
They don't eat people.
So welcome to our first stop.
So as you can see, this is Pinaglungaban Island.
So we're doing a snorkeling activity now.
We have 40 minutes.
Wow, wow, wow.
Better than swimming pool.
Are you jumping?
Okay, I'll film you jumping.
Alright, I have made it to
Seven Commando Beach. My GoPro hasn't
because there was some water
coming in. I didn't have the proper
case for it so unfortunately
I have to leave it
to dry. So I'm vlogging on
my iPhone. This place
is known as Seven Commando Beach
because there was a
Japanese ship that sunk
here in the bay and
the name of it was Seven Commando.
I mean the sand is super soft.
We have some really nice palm trees in the background.
The best view
in the world. Can't complain.
Okay, the boys are playing
volleyball here. Seems like somebody won.
I'm very happy about it.
So there is actually
a smoking area over there.
We also have a bar here
and something that you should be very aware
of is not to
lay right underneath the coconut tree
because if they have coconuts
it will most probably fall down
and hit you really really badly. That happened to me.
Luckily it landed on my
butt but
yeah, it's just a piece of advice.
There's like so many people
dying of coconuts.
So it's currently sunny on this side
and it's super super rainy on that side.
You can barely
see the island.
So I guess the rain is coming our way
but until then
we're just going to enjoy the sun.
Bye!
