I like it when a tool can do more than one job. We use TieBoss® tie downs for securing loads in our trailer and truck bed, as well as holding down tarps when transporting lose materials.

The TieBoss® also works great for overhead storage of items like ladders, kayaks, bicycles and vehicle hard tops. As long as you have sturdy enough attachment points (such as screweyes installed in the ceiling joists), you can easily lift items out of the way and secure them there, ready to be lowered with a minimum of fuss.

The TieBoss® uses a jam cleat system that allows you to pull the rope to lift the object, release the rope, and have the jam cleat engage immediately. This allows you to lift the load one increment at a time, or to level the object. It is also a safety feature - if you let go of the rope, the jam cleat secures the rope in position. To release, lift the rope more than twenty degrees from the body of the unit, and the rope will release.

These unit are great also for campers and hunters. You can lift game, or your food storage well off the ground to prevent “raids” by the wildlife.

They are reasonably priced, and come in ¼” and ⅜” rope sizes. The ¼” unit has a working capacity of 150 pounds, the ⅜” size will carry up to 300 pounds.
