The BATTEX Battery Attachment Extension System from Mission Tool Company adds a slim accessory-mounting rail between the battery and a compatible cordless tool. You can then attach bits, bit holders, and a belt hook directly to the tool and swap them as the work requires.
In this episode, we unbox and install the DeWalt 20V MAX version, provision it with the accessories we commonly use, and put it to work for our initial evaluation. We’ll examine:
• What comes in the BATTEX set
• How it installs between the tool and battery
• How the locking rail and spring-ball detents work
• Why each accessory must be fully seated in its detent
• The horizontal and vertical magnetic bit holders
• The removable Easy-In belt hook
• Added size, weight, balance, and handling
• Battery fit and removal
• Stability and vibration during actual use
• Situations where having several bits on the tool could save time
BATTEX maintains the electrical connection between the battery and tool while adding a sturdy, Picatinny-inspired mounting system for accessories. The holders use powerful N52 magnets, while a 35-newton spring-ball detent helps keep each accessory locked onto the rail.
The snug fit is intentional. It minimizes movement and vibration, but it also means installation and accessory changes require deliberate pressure and attention to ensure everything is fully seated.
Mission Tool Company provided four DeWalt-compatible BATTEX sets for our independent evaluation. We will place two with regular tool users for an extended field test. After about a year of real-world use, we plan to report on durability, accessory retention, battery connections, ease of use, and whether the system continued to earn its place on the tools.
BATTEX is engineered and manufactured in the USA and is currently offered for DeWalt 20V MAX and Milwaukee M18 battery platforms. Mission Tool Company backs it with a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
