I'm going to use my number 5 trimming tool.
There's a little curve here so it will go in there just perfectly.
After taking care of this curve,
I'm flipping my tool using the straight side to trim the side of this bottle.
This is my number 5 tungsten carbide trimming tool.
You can use all different kinds of tools.
The 7 shape loop tool.
Or you can use the D shape loop tool.
Pear shape.
My square shape.
Alright, so I used 5 different kinds of tungsten carbide tools to trim this piece.
Just to show you, very graphically,
it wears out your tool, your sharp edge easily.
But with the tungsten carbide, they stay sharp for a long time.
So the carbide tool is very good for graphically,
because you don't need to sharpen your tool very often.
By the very final stage, I slightly increase the speed,
but try to remove a small amount of clay.
So your surface will be smoother.
If you are not holding it right,
usually you will get the unwanted chattering.
But as you can see, at the very final stage,
I try to cut a smaller amount of clay.
So the surface becomes smoother.
Smaller amount and move the tool slowly.
And slightly increase the speed of the wheel.
But when you are doing a lot of heavy lifting,
try to slow down the speed of the wheel.
So that you don't create too much of the chattering mark,
which is going to be too deep for later on,
if you try to smooth the surface.
It's very hard.
And then after that, you can use a brick to burnish,
to smooth the surface.
You can use a shiny rock.
The rock is pushing the graphically inside the surface,
so the surface will be even shinier, smoother.
So by the very final stage, after I burnish the surface,
I'm going to put a little bit of texture to decorate it.
Using my No. 4 tool to get the floating,
the indentation, the curve, cut it into the surface.
I'm going to put a little bit of texture to decorate it.
So I stick up two chucks and I will show you later how I stick them together.
Let me show you how I stick up two chucks.
So I know most of you have the chuck that has been bisque fired.
And that bisque fired chuck is pretty porous.
So when you try to use the clay to stick up to try to hold your pot,
usually the chuck draws a lot of water from it.
So what I did was these two chucks in between.
Before I stick them together, I wet the clay and then stick them together.
So they will stay for a while before they dry out.
And once they dry out, they fall out easily.
But when the clay is still wet with the water, they will hold together.
So it's not moving around.
This is the bisque chuck.
So that is the tip for you if you want to try to hold your pot on the bisque chuck.
Wet your clay before you stick it.
All right, so this is the final piece of the bottle shape.
I was using a lot of different carbide trimming tools to trim it to show you.
All of my carbide trimming tools are very good for corapi clay.
And then the very final stage, I was using my No. 4, a little oval shape.
So if you want to have a smaller indentation, a smaller inward curve,
you can use the tip part.
And if you want to make it larger, slightly larger,
you can use a larger curve here to trim it.
From here, I have a smaller one and gradually increase the width of the groove using this tool.
So I have multiple sides of the grooves.
I'm using that for the decoration of this bottle.
All right, I hope this demonstration helps.
My tools can be purchased from my Squarespace shop and also my Etsy shop.
I will link the shops down below in my comments.
So you can have a link from there to purchase my tools.
All right, so that is my demonstration.
Thanks for watching and see you in my next video.
