You made it to bed.
The safest place you could possibly be is where you are right now.
Let the mattress and sheets and even the air in your bedroom wrap you
like a safe and warm cocoon.
Gently and slowly and softly, just let your eyes settle.
Let them close as they've seen so much today.
They've seen enough today.
And bring to mind a realization.
A very safe realization that you don't need to pretend.
You don't need to hold any kind of posture that you had to today.
Think of moments today where you had to bring energy.
Maybe you had to please others or even take energy to please yourself.
And that's all done.
That's all finished. You don't have to do anything
but lie there in safety.
Just as you are.
Nothing to fix.
There's nothing to calculate. A calculation won't bring peaceful sleep.
To figure something out right now won't bring peaceful sleep.
What the moment calls for now is you to just be as you are.
Letting your body relax.
The tips of your fingers all the way up to the top of your head.
And the tips of your toes all the way up.
As if a warm energy is just wrapping itself around your entire body saying,
It's okay. It's okay to just release now.
Just lay and witness your body unwinding.
Like a tight ball of thread now just unraveling in no rush.
In its own time just opening to the sense of freedom.
The sensation of rest.
If you feel comfortable enough
this calming sensation
can travel throughout the day you just had.
This peaceful sensation
can follow you
through the day you just experienced.
Bring to mind a certain part of your day
any kind of memory.
And can you offer
that person who experienced today
a sense of compassion
a sense of unconditional support
a real sense of
a sense of non-judgment.
And as you offer
that person
that past self that experienced the day
as you offer them this sense of
consolation
a sense of understanding and appreciation
the past is able to just float away outside the room
as you make peace with different moments through the day.
The moments that maybe were difficult.
The moments that were stressful.
The moments where maybe
there was some loneliness.
With each of these experiences you had today
go back and
offer unconditional compassion
for the person that experienced all this.
A warm embrace
to them.
And for the next few moments do this in
multiple scenes through the day that you had
as if touching
each of these moments
with a beautiful
spark of light.
No matter what happened.
As if the day experienced
that may have seemed black and white is now full of light and color
and full of love.
Embracing
these moments to then let them go.
Embracing that moment
to then let it float.
Embracing another moment
to let it go.
Now
allow all of these parts of the day
to float out of the room
and what's left is safety.
What's left is an acknowledgement
and love for yourself.
Of the real good that
you gave yourself.
Of the love that's truly there
and here.
And as beautifully as you
did this exercise, shift your focus
to your breathing.
As the inhale brings peace.
As the exhale
brings relief.
As the inhale
brings peace.
And as the exhale brings relief.
Noticing
the relaxation.
And being
completely safe.
Being a source of love for yourself.
That guides you into a good night's sleep.
Good night.
You
you
