This Egyptian temple is located next to Lake Nasser in southern Egypt, right in front of the "Second Waterfall", Egypt's traditional border, and facing Sudan. It was the famous pharaoh Ramses II of the 19th Dynasty who carved the entire rock mountain into one piece. It is an engineering miracle of ancient Egypt. Its interior Holy of Holies contains four statues, namely Ptah, Amun, Ramses II, and La-Heratik. On the two days of February 21st and October 21st every year, the rising sun's rays will directly shine on the faces of the three statues of Ptah, Amun and Ramses II in this Egyptian temple. It is said that one day is the birthday of the pharaoh and the other day is the anniversary of his accession to the throne, which shows the ingenuity of the engineering construction at that time.
The front of this Egyptian temple is 33 meters high and 38 meters wide. The carving in the center means Ramesses. On both sides of this wall carving, there are two 20-meter-high figures wearing upper and lower Egyptian crowns on their heads. Ramesses II carved it, but one of them collapsed 10 years after it was built. It was considered an ominous omen by the people at the time, so it was abandoned for thousands of years before being rediscovered by Belzoni in 1813. .
This Egyptian temple has wall carvings of the famous "Battle of Kadesh", which are so detailed that they even include the personal actions of some soldiers. It is the most detailed record of all Egyptian temples.
