Hello everyone, nice to have you back!
Another video on the topic
Get rid of bags.
Summer is salad season.
Almost every household has at least
two, three, four times a week salad.
These fixed bags here
for salad sauces. I have now collected two pieces from friends
so that I don't always have to buy stuff.
Let's take a look at what's in there.
I'll take this one from Kaufland
salad fix paprika herbs.
Only water and oil have to be added.
And I'll read out the ingredients.
Sugar, maltodextrin,
iodized table salt, paprika,
acidic acid citric acid, salad herbs
in brackets 5%, consisting of
parsley, chives and oregano.
Then an acid regulator, sodium
diacetate, garlic,
rapeseed oil, antioxidant
ascorbic acid and spice extract.
If you think about it now,
that the ingredients are listed according to the amount contained here
and the first ingredient is sugar
and the second ingredient, maltodextrin, is also a sugar
and then table salt comes
and we have 5% herbs
in this case only parsley, chives and oregano
and I have weighed
what actually 5% of such a bag contains
10 grams. Then that's 0.5 grams
dried salad herbs, although there are only three in here
that are contained in here. 0.5 grams
herbs for 10 grams.
How the whole thing works
without these powders,
I would like to show you today.
I actually buy a salad herb mixture
ready-dried
for the following reasons.
If you have ever tried to dry chives and parsley,
whether hung up in the drying machine or otherwise,
you will have noticed that the end result
actually doesn't taste like anything anymore, because these herbs
lose almost their complete aroma by drying.
And the ready-made salad herbs
that you get here,
they are dried gently, dried frozen and thus retain their aroma.
And although I have a lot of herbs out in the garden,
I actually buy them too,
because they also taste like something,
in contrast to when I would dry it myself.
The salad herb mixture does not contain sugar,
no salt, so no fillings that are cheap,
but these are purely herbs.
I link them to you below in the video description.
I think they offer 100 grams, 300 grams
and a kilo of packages. The bigger the package,
the cheaper the end product.
I usually order the kilo package.
Don't be surprised, that's such a huge package.
And I share it in the family,
to make a herb quark with it,
to make a herb butter with it,
over the vegetables in the pan, vegetable stock,
so I can use it multifunctionally,
even if there are no more fresh herbs in the garden.
Yes, and then I would suggest,
we just start.
I have already prepared here,
washed a cabbage salad May Queen and a little
cucumber underneath.
This is our salad for dinner today.
Get everything out of the bin.
Okay, let's start first.
I always take a tablespoon of the salad herbs.
Just the comparison.
That really deserves the name herb.
Next, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
Then I have a tablespoon of
dark balsamic vinegar.
Then vinegar is added.
I have a selection here,
of what we have on self-produced vinegar.
We have apple cider vinegar,
quince vinegar, apple cider vinegar and johannesberry vinegar.
I can vary according to my own taste.
I'll take the herb apple cider vinegar.
We need 2 tablespoons of it.
If you do not know the vinegar varieties,
we link them in the video description.
Then comes a teaspoon of honey.
Or any other sweetener,
according to your own taste.
You see, this is also about crowdfarming.
Spanish bee honey.
I have adopted a bee colony.
Since I have beekeeping myself,
I take a tablespoon of the liquid spice.
1 to 2 teaspoons, according to your own taste.
Then we need a teaspoon of normal mustard.
This works as an emulgator.
So that fat and oil
combine nicely.
You know, I'm a fan of mustard.
I also like it when I bite on grains.
That's why I always add a teaspoon of coarse mustard.
If you have made the johannesberry vinegar
according to our video,
you can of course also use johannesberry vinegar.
That is also really tasty.
Now we have all the ingredients in it,
except for the water, but that will come in a moment.
Now stir straight.
The herbs then boil up nicely in the liquid.
Then add water, according to your own taste.
I tried it.
How is the acid for me?
Do I still need 1, 2, 3, 4 tablespoons of water?
Completely according to your own taste.
I have now added 2 tablespoons of the water.
And then it is tried again.
For me it fits.
As long as I have fresh herbs outside,
I will of course also
add fresh herbs to my salad.
Because that is the advantage of the summer months,
that you can access a rich fundus.
So a little chives comes in with me.
Then a little fresh parsley comes in with me.
Because the essential oils of the fresh herbs
are of course really good for us.
Apart from that, it's delicious.
Then I have a little lovage here,
because there is already a mixture in it.
But I love lovage.
I still have a borage leaf here.
I also like that very much in the salad.
And here I have a little pimpinella, pimpernella,
Wiesenknopf, depending on how you like to call it.
I also roughly cut that in here now.
I've got 2 green slots down
outside with my onions.
And now a few more nice onion rings.
If you like garlic in the salad dressing,
a little bit, only a quarter teaspoon of the garlic paste.
I like that with endives,
I don't like it with cabbage salad.
But that's a matter of taste, like everything else.
So, add the onions.
And then we can stir the dressing again briefly.
And over it.
That's maybe a little too much,
but I also like to dunk my slice of bread
or the salted potatoes in the salad dressing,
so it's not that bad.
And then it's just a matter of stirring.
And I'm done in no time.
And when I think about what I pay for these bags
with the salad dressing,
and basically only pay for sugar and salt
from herbs,
then it's much, much cheaper this way.
And yes, was that really more complex
than just opening the bag
and stirring in water and oil?
I don't think so.
And so the salad tastes much better to us.
And I can especially do it well with the herb mixture in winter.
And I know what I'm actually eating.
Without all the additives.
And I wanted to show one more thing,
because in the second package there is even lactose
and modified starch,
where I think, okay.
And as an acid base, there is a lemon preparation in it.
Glucose syrup, acid, citric acid
and citric juice concentrate.
That means even in the lemon preparation
we have three types of sugar.
Yes, that it goes very quickly,
even without these aids, without these powders,
I think I was able to show.
And if you've tried it, you'll notice,
hmm, I don't need this bag at all.
That works wonderfully, even without these fixed products.
We're going to enjoy the salad now.
I've just made fish meatballs.
If you liked the video,
we would of course be happy about a thumbs up,
a comment and of course a subscription.
See you next time!
