Hi, in this video I will show you how you can easily sew a turban hat.
I will show you two variants.
You will need a stretchable fabric.
I will use this jersey fabric.
You can also use a sweat fabric or a knit fabric, but it is important that it is stretchable, like this fabric here.
The width of the fabric should be the same as the circumference of the head and the height should be measured from the forehead to the neck.
Now I make a bun here.
For this I turn the fabric once to the beautiful side, i.e. to the right side.
Now my fabric clips are used.
You then fold the fabric up here.
I have now taken 6 cm and then I fold it down again and attach the whole thing with fabric clips.
I do that now here on the whole lower side.
Now I go over here with the sewing machine.
I do the whole thing with a fake overlock stitch.
This is what the whole thing looks like.
Now we can turn the whole thing around and then you can see the bun.
Now I fold the fabric once in the width and cut the corner round here.
Then we can take the fabric apart again.
Now I turn the fabric once so that I have the left side, i.e. the inner side, on top.
Now I take my needle and thread and then I sit down here and then I always take large folds and put them over my needle.
You can do that relatively roughly, so you don't always have to sew exactly the same large folds.
I do this once around here, in between I pull through once and then I put some folds over the needle again, pull through again and I do that once until I have reached the other end.
This is what it looks like now.
I pull the threads on both sides and push them together nicely and then we have a nice seam here.
Now I make a double knot here, cut off the excess thread and that is now the inner side of the hat.
Now I put it together nicely and go back and forth with the needle and thread so that it stays together nicely.
Otherwise we have a hole there and of course it should stay covered or closed.
That's what it looks like when we're done with it, that's from the outside now.
And now we're going to make it a little nicer.
With the hat, I thought I'd make a bow on the front, so I take a long piece of fabric here, put it right sides together,
cut off the corners here so that I have the tip, then I sew it together once, once from left to right, but we have to leave a turning opening here.
Through the turning opening, I turn the whole thing around now.
This is what it looks like now.
Now I have the turning opening here and I put this side of the turning opening on the front of the bow.
I take my needle thread and just sew it on with a few stitches.
I'll make it a little nicer here so that it's really nice and evenly covered at the front, the opening.
I'll just sew that together here with a few stitches, from top to bottom.
So that's what it looks like now and now I'm going to make a knot in front of me.
Now the hat is already finished.
Of course, you can now fix the bow a little by simply fixing the bow a little with a few stitches, so that it doesn't hang down somehow.
I think it's really cute, especially for children with bows.
However, I made another one for myself, a little simpler.
Here the hat is ready, now all that's left is to put the decoration on it, I'll say.
Then I'll take a piece of fabric again, also here right to right, and I'll take one long side together.
Then I'll wrinkle the whole thing around once, that's what the whole thing looks like now.
Now we have the seam here on one side, which of course I don't want to see later, so I'll put the whole thing the other way around on the hat.
I go into the hat, pull the fabric through the loop at the top, then I go into the hat with it and take the whole thing together.
I do that with a simple straight stitch, cut off the excess fabric and then my hat is ready.
So as you can see, you can really try out different variants.
At the front, there are various decoration options, so your imagination is set free.
I hope you enjoyed the video and that it helped you.
Of course, I'm happy, as always, about a thumbs up.
