Hi! In this video, I'll show you how to make a turtleneck for your four-legged and how to pull the neckband through it.
You need two different fabrics. I use these two cotton fabrics.
But first, let's measure the neckband.
First, you close it in the size your dog always wears.
Then I take my measuring tape and measure the circumference.
Now I'm at 54 cm.
And then I measure the width of the neckband.
Here we are at 5 cm.
Then I put the fabrics right sides together, so that I can look at the beautiful sides.
The dimensions of the fabrics should be as follows. I'll show you.
So in width, the neckband circumference is minus 5 cm.
And height, the desired length, how long you want the neckband, plus the width of the neckband, plus 2 cm.
Next, we mark the width of the neckband on top, plus 2 cm.
For me, that's 7 cm.
And the same on the other side.
We also mark that here, at 7 cm from the top.
Now I fold the fabric once, so that I have the markings up, so that I can see them.
And now I cut about 1-1.5 cm with the scissors.
You can see that quite well.
And now I cut from the top here, where I already cut, down the fabric.
Folded apart, you can already see a triangle.
Now I take the fabrics apart here.
I turn the whole thing over so that I have the left side up.
And here I fold the corners inwards.
And I fix the whole thing with needles.
That's about 1-1.5 cm.
And there I go over with the iron.
Then I can also take the needles out.
And now I put the two fabrics right on top of each other, so that I can look at the beautiful sides.
I now sew the following edges together.
Once here on the right and left.
And on top.
I do the whole thing with a fake overlock stitch.
But you can also take a zigzag stitch, a straight stitch, but clean it up with a zigzag stitch.
Or just with an overlock.
Then I cut off the corner here.
Almost to the seam, but be careful not to cut into the seam.
Then you can stuff it out later.
Now I turn the whole thing over.
And that's what it looks like.
Now I go over here from this corner to the other corner.
But first I mark the whole thing with a pen, so that I can make it really straight.
And now I just go over it with a normal straight stitch.
And then the turtleneck is already finished.
Here you can see the seam.
On the other side you can see it a little better.
And up there I put the neckband through.
So as you can see, it's really super easy, super fast.
