Moonraker | James Bond fights in mid-air
Moonraker is the eleventh installment in the 1979 series of James Bond films produced by Eon Productions and the fourth to actor Roger Moore as the James Bond spy.
During the investigation of the Space Shuttle theft, 007 met the owner of the space shuttle company named Hugo Drax. He follows the trail from California to Venice, Rio de Janeiro, the Amazon rainforest, and eventually to outer space to stop a plan to eliminate the world's population and recreate humanity with a master race.
Moonraker's production cost was $34 million, more than twice that of The Spy Who Loved Me (1977). Despite its high cost and mixed reviews, the film's visuals were applauded. Derek Meddings was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. Finally, Moonraker became the highest-grossing film of the 007 series, with $210.3 million worldwide, a record that lasted until 1995 GoldenEye.
