We're not usually into to cliffhangers, but we're also not into 15 minute long videos and we didn't want to skimp on our awesome trip to see the Terra Cotta Army / Terra Cotta Warriors in Xian China. WOW! I really didn't expect this site to be as breathtaking as it it but again...WOW! The detail on these pieces of 2000 year old pottery is just beyond belief. China has done such a great job of preserving the site and creating an environment that allows these treasures to be viewed while also remaining protected and allowing further archaeological work to continue. While many guides are available for a fee and they will try to convince you their services are required, that is thankfully not the case and we really enjoyed the site at our own pace. Everything is in Chinese and English so very easy to self guide. Emperor Qin Shihuang's Mausoleum Site Park is included with our ticket to see the Terracotta Army so we enjoy walking around the picturesque pathways. Not a lot to see at that part but it's a great walk. After a long day exploring history you know we have to do something special for dinner so we go that cool looking conveyor belt restaurant we saw last week and it does not disappoint. Great food and a lot of it, and it's fun too!

We're to the Terracotta Museum. It's broken into two parts. The museum where the warriors are and
then Leshan Park where there is the mausoleum. It's beautiful up here. There's a walk to this
gorgeous park before you get into the site. For those who can't walk, they do have golf carts
for 5 yuan to take you up there. There's a bunch of guides out front. You can get a guide if you
want. Our friend that went previously said it wasn't really needed and we found that it's not.
Go to the Visitor Information Center. It's big. It's beautiful. There's a bathroom in there.
They have pre-maps in English. Tells you where all the sites are. So we're going self-guided.
And at the end we'll tell you whether it was worth it or not. The mountains and the pine trees are
kind of reminding us of Oregon. A lot of people are going to start at pit one it looks like. So
we're going to start at pit three and go counterclockwise. Yet another UNESCO World Heritage
Now let's go see it. This museum is filled with bronze relics. It's made of bronze, tin, and gold.
It's exactly to scale. It's a half scale of the exact size back in the day with all the working
ropes and everything. That's amazing. Terracotta puppy dogs. And we go to pit two. Those are the
remains of the roof beams from the walls. Pit two is still an active dig site. You can see
wrapped artifacts and their tools down here. Check out that look on his face. He's got the plan.
Heading into pit three. This place is absolutely incredible. We are at pit number one which is the
best coolest pit. We saved it for last. We're going to counterclockwise order. So in we go.
Wait are you excited? I am. Really? Like super excited? I'm super excited. Oh my god like...
Okay now I'm leaving. All joking aside this is really blowing my mind. Absolutely incredible.
I can't believe this stuff is over 2,000 years old. This is beautiful. Wow. And they're still
working on it. It's like a school and a museum at the same time. I love pit one because they're
working on it. You can see all of their workspace and what they're doing. Why do I have Martika
playing in my head? Of course there's a Starbucks right by the Terracotta Army. So to add to my
collection that I don't get to buy. We're headed to LeSean Garden where the other part of the
mausoleum is. That was amazing. We are wandering our way up to LeSean Garden. We were walking
around these beautiful paths trying to wonder why we couldn't find the mausoleum. Turns out the whole
hill is the mausoleum. It's enormous. It's beautiful. A ton to see but it's a beautiful walk. So there we
were traipsing down trails out in the middle of China all along. What could go wrong? That's where the
bronze and chariot pits were. Well that concludes our time out here. The Terracotta Soldiers. Wow.
They were amazing. LeSean Park. It's a park. Both the pits they have here are closed.
One is under construction and it says a long time before it's going to be open.
But it's a beautiful park if you want to walk. We are trying a new place. You get a boiling hot
soup I guess and you put all your condiments in it. It's a way to play with your food and it's
going to be fun. This is Lee and what was your name?
We met them at this awesome dinner. People like to come up and have their pictures taken with
us so it's so nice to be welcomed. Holy cow that was amazing. That was a fun play with your food
dinner. It was tasty and I am really full. That tends to happen when you give me an all-you-can-eat
option. And that came in at just under 12 bucks for two people.
We're off to find our newest addiction in China. Sour plum juice. We thought it was that prune
juice. It's not. It's refreshing and cold and I love it. She loves it. We gotta get it. Peace.
Every country in the world. But we're from Portland. Just let you know. Yeah Portland. Chinese.
Look at this. Now we got a Bruin. Oh my god. Pac-12's in the house.
It's all right. We love your football coach. If you like our video, click the thumbs up and subscribe.
