Hong Kong, Kowloon, and we can see the moon. We arrive into this thriving megalopolis via Emirates who consistently prove why their economy class is the the best in the industry. Another nice surprise was Uber giving us a free upgrade to Uber Black so our welcome to Hong Kong and drive to our lodging was in an awesome Tesla...that thankfully had a driver (technology is cool, but I still like cars with actual drivers). We arrive at the shoe box hotel we booked in the Chung King Mansions right in the heart of Kowloon in Tsim Sha Tsui. The mass of humanity swarming around in and out of the mansions combined with the trillions of LED lights that make the streets bright as day even in the middle of the night make this the true city that never sleeps. So much to take in and the experience is just amazing. We waste no time hopping the on the user friendly Metro system and visit the gorgeous Hong Kong Park over on the island of Hong Kong as well as the Botanical and Zoological Park, both of which were highlights of our visit. While the metro is easy to use, the ferry between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon / Tsim Sha Tsui is much cheaper, just as easy and a better view. After walking the hills until our legs were numb we headed to the Temple District in search of our favorite meal...local street food! Despite the rain we still found a tasty meal in a dodgy alley which you know by now is our preferred dining location. Kate does some great food reviews even though we may have ordered the wrong tofu. Oh well, it was still delicious!

We got an Uber from the airport to our hotel and Uber upgraded us to an Uber Black so we
are in an awesome Tesla rolling through Hong Kong. That is a good welcome to Hong Kong.
Tiny but it'll work. We're in a mansion. I forgot what it's called. We're right in the like the
central business district of Kowloon which is TST. Tsim Sha Tsui. I'll get that better. But uh
very interesting. We found our room. As you saw it was tiny. Super busy area here and it's like
right above a market. So we're gonna go explore and find some food. After the lodgings we've been
staying in the last month or so we need this. Got to get back to our exploring roots. We'll see how
this works out. Everything smells wonderful so it should be great. Our first meal in Hong Kong
and the food is really good. We got lucky with the ordering. I really like Hong Kong. I'm getting
trying to get used to it for China. Hong Kong's really cool. It's bright lights, big city.
We just got on the train from over in Kowloon where we're staying. We're gonna go check out
Hong Kong Park which looks beautiful. My type of place. Trees. They have an apiary. This is my
favorite. Hong Kong has these at every crossing which is super handy since I never seem to know
which direction to look. Hong Kong's Botanical Gardens and animals. I'm in love. I can't wait
to see the bright colors. It's almost a coral. Ibis. Those are my favorites. And monkeys.
I almost always prefer animals out of cages except for monkeys.
They're safer close up in cages. You get the chance to see orangutans in the wild while
there's still a couple left but this is still pretty cool just getting to see these giant
beautiful creatures here. Being pretty well taken care of it looks like. The Botanical Gardens in
Hong Kong is my number one thing to do because it's all free. It's beautiful. There are animals
I've never seen before not even on television. It's peaceful so definitely a must do.
So I saw these signs that said mid-levels. I asked somebody from here what are mid-levels mean?
They said it's halfway up the hill. Makes sense. It's a big hill. I like going down. I hate this
going up. It's a big hill. We're gonna grab a ferry back to TST. Tim Shah Tsui. It's way cheaper
than the train. It's more civilized than trying to get to Manly on a Sunday. You know us. We're
on the hunt for some good street food. We're looking for Saigon Street up in the Temple District.
And yeah it's raining but it's warm. It's pretty. Looks can be deceiving but generally a place that
looks like this and has this kind of clientele is gonna have great food. This is the famous stinky
tofu. Spicy tofu. Spicy beef and glass noodles. If you like our video, leave a thumbs up and subscribe.
