Video Summary
AI GeneratedA couple returns to Australia, renting a car and driving north to the Gold Coast. They spend their time exploring the natural beauty of Springbrook National Park, embarking on scenic hikes, encountering local wildlife, and visiting the Natural Bridge before heading back to Surfers Paradise.
Oh my god it feels so nice to be back in Australia.
Where do we go from, where do we go from here?
I know just a second ago we were getting off of a ship.
Trucks going by are loud, especially that one.
My goodness.
We got off the ship and went directly to pick up a rental car.
Of course we videoed every little scratch and nick in the car to protect us against
any shenanigans from the car rental agency, but we rented from Apex so there were no shenanigans.
No shenanigans on my watch.
Drove what about 10 hours north along a beautiful coastal drive, wound up in Gold Coast.
Everybody we talked to said we need to go and check out Springbrook.
It's beautiful here and so here we are checking it out, let's go.
I'm always looking for these.
Our first stop is to look out over the valley.
This is beautiful.
That is, as I heard, truly the absolute best view of Gold Coast that I could imagine.
I don't know, I can imagine quite a bit.
Judging by the amount of cars here on a Wednesday afternoon this is a good choice.
My beautiful wife as always with questionable choices in hiking footwear.
It's just stunning out here.
It's a wild Katie.
Careful, don't spook her.
She'll climb the trees and start eating eucalyptus.
I stand corrected, that last view of Gold Coast was not the best view ever.
I think we may have a challenger.
I just realized we're going all the way down there.
Yikes.
Make sure we stay on the twin pole circuit and not the worry circuit, worries.
We know Katie, she always takes the high road.
Come through the dark scary cave.
This hike is gorgeous.
Of course it is, it's in Australia.
This is a beautiful walk.
It's a must do if you're ever in the area.
Katie keeps almost stepping on the forest dragons.
Twin Falls walk.
Double thumbs up and a 10.
There we go.
That's a bush turkey.
Those are protected by the way.
You want to come past us?
We'll go past you.
And there's the second of the Twin Falls.
The circuit is beautiful.
A little confusing.
We're not sure if we turn around, but I swear on the map it looked like a whole loop.
So we're headed this way.
It's always an adventure, especially when you should have brought the other bottle of water,
but you thought, yeah.
We got plenty of water.
Famous last words.
You're drinking your own urine in less than 20 hours.
Well, we found the uphill.
That guy's huge.
I'm not going to lie.
I was really grateful to see legs on that thing.
First, I thought it was a giant snake.
We have to figure out what that is later.
I say it's a gargantuan Queenslander skink.
We started way over there.
It's about the time we think we have found the absolute best view of the Gold Coast.
We come up to one that's even better.
It's the chupacabra.
Oh, wow.
Look at that guy.
He's beautiful.
It's a parrot.
It's a parrot that knows I'm trying to video him.
So he's walking behind sticks because he's a jerk.
There he is.
And the Queensland Forest Service has provided us a list of aboriginal names and meanings.
Very nice.
That was a 10 out of 10.
10.
Yeah, definitely do this.
There's animals.
There's everything that I wanted in a hike is there.
Amazing hike.
Yeah, I would do it again.
Off we go to explore more of Springbrook.
A little picnic area up here.
We just stopped at because I said I had a bathroom.
And I think it's the most beautiful picnic area I've ever seen in my life.
I agree.
God, wow.
The natural beauty of this place.
Nice tables, bathrooms right along the creek.
And of course, gas grills that are here and functional.
People don't light them on fire or steal them because they're for everybody to use.
I love it here.
The hardest part of being around here is trying to pronounce the names.
Mugiwraba?
Close enough.
For the next hike of the day, it's the natural breeze.
We are being very liberal with the term hike,
since it's all sealed walkway and it's only like one kilometer.
Oh, beware the carpet fibers.
I like it when they tell you exactly how much it's going to cost you to swim.
375 Australian dollars.
What do you have to say to all the vloggers that said this is a great place to swim?
Um, I don't think they've been here.
Like we've met a lot of people that say things and they've never been to that place.
Thanksgiving is past, so the bush chickpeas are safe.
Also, I believe it's very illegal to eat them.
And after any good hike down, there comes the inevitable stairs back up.
See at the top, Katie, I'm going to take the elevator.
This part at night, there's glowworms in the cave.
It's actually way darker than it looks on the camera.
It's not dark enough yet to see the glowworms,
but thankfully it's light enough to avoid the carpet python.
And there's the top of the natural bridge.
It comes out over there.
Australia is our favorite country in the world.
We try not to play favorites, but it is.
It's amazing.
Just for the natural wonder alone.
This is another explanation point on that.
And you get to see all sorts of different animals.
You get here on Gold Coast, come on up here.
We have never been disappointed on a hike in Australia.
The nature here is just unique and amazing.
I love it.
We are going to roll back towards surfer's paradise,
and I'm sure we will have some kind of a video coming out about that place soon.
We're just going to enjoy the beach for a bit.
So peace out.
Keep drinking this coffee.
Like the thumbs up and subscribe.
No, that was good.
That was good.
