Back in China! This time in Tianjin which turns out to be a ENORMOUS and spread out over a vast area. We wander around the TEDA area and do some exploring. Interesting. Very interesting. Definitely a place of contrasts. Thankfully we find one of our favorite "Pick Your Ingredients" Soup places that is delicious and not to hard on the budget. The air quality is terrible but that can't keep us from enjoying our time here. We even make it to the Foreign Commodities Market area to do some shopping. It's a lot of fun but you better be ready to haggle...HARD...if you pay more than 10% of asking price (yes...10%) then you've likely been taken big time. Go prepared and you can work your way to some good prices.

We are back in China and in Tianjin this time.
Wow.
The smog is really bad.
But it's pretty and I'm glad to be back.
We're in a jeep.
It's like Uber but for China.
We're back in China and I kind of forgot for a second until everybody was staring at me.
I remembered now.

We found another place for you to visit.

I guess it's not super new but they're building it up as the technological
entertainment development area.
It's so strange.
There's like this huge mall and there's nobody here.
And it's Saturday.
We're just wandering around like a closed shopping mall.
It's open but no places here.
We're waiting for the zombies to come at any moment.
Yep.
It's a little freaky.
We've met one or two people at a really cool movie theater where you just
rent a room and get to watch first-run movies in there.
That's cool.
Well, if nothing else is open, let's hope that Starbucks right there is.
Oh no, it's locked.
Oh, zombie apocalypse has hit.
We found another mall that has some people at gaming tournament.
This is just so strange.
There's people around but there's just so much space.
It has like the feel of an abandoned Olympic village.
The contrast is very strange.
And if you see over here, that big giant beautiful building right there,
that's currently being built.
You know what we have to feel like is that we're in a movie.
Half the population of the world is gone and this is what it's like.
Exactly.
Well, we found some more people around.
We're down in the foreign commodities trading market area.
Tianjin, by the way, is absolutely enormous.
The area we're at is like 80 miles away from downtown Tianjin city.
Massive amount of development and construction going on.
This place is huge.
There's not enough people to fill it yet.
Well, we found the shopping.
When you come down to the foreign commodities market, it's actually pretty fun.
And I don't particularly like to haggle but it's fun.
Thankfully, the air today in Tianjin was way better than yesterday.
Beautiful day today.
Such a city of extremes.
It's clearly built to have a ton of people here.
There's the zombie apocalypse parts and then right next to it are thriving markets.
I know, it's so bizarre.
But it's cool at the same time.
Now we're going to look for some food and tomorrow we're going to hop on a big beautiful boat.
