How to train an aggressive horse - Clinton Anderson
In this video, professional horse trainer Clinton Anderson work works with Kim Powers to train a very aggressive horse named Jack.
Jack was a pasture pet. In his mind, he got more powerful over humans. Kim tried to train Jack, but his behavior only seemed to worsen. She then had to seek help from Clinton Anderson.
Hi guys, I'm Clinton Anderson. And I have a method for training aggressive horses.
I believe that getting a horse to behave is simple and that the owner usually needs help. The first step he took with Jack was to remove the barricades in the cage that Kim used to shield himself from attacks. The goal is to win the horse's respect without fear, and that's hard to do when the horse knows you're afraid of it.
To regain control, I began moving Jack's legs forward, backward, left, and right, asking him to move around the cage in a specific way. When Jack responded to Clinton's suggestions, I stepped out of his pen to help Jack release the pressure completely and let him know that he was giving me the correct answer.
I worked directly with Kim to teach her this training method so that she could continue working with Jack independently and take back her leadership role with a confident attitude.
Good luck! Leave a comment if you find the video helpful!
