LOGGING IN A WINTER WONDERLAND | Draft horses - horse logging, horses farming, and horse training
Join us to learn about draft horses - horse logging, breeding, and training! Jim uses Belgian, Percheron and Suffolk horses to do work on the farm and in the woods.
In this video, we use Belgian, Percheron, and Suffolk horses for farm and forest work. We demonstrate skill in harnesses, horse-drawn logging and farming machinery, horse care and feeding, and voice commands for horses.
- First, I'll tell you how I transport my horses. Before, I packed the reins in the barn and loaded them into the trailer with Bill in front.
- Equip your horse with new and better harnesses. The horse-pulling Wood needs to be carefully prepared. The job seems simple but also requires great care because the snowy weather on these winter days will make the work more complicated and labor-intensive.
- After using the saw to cut the wood, I used a chain to fasten it. To create a fulcrum for easier hooking of the zipper and to make work easier. I had to use voice commands to communicate with a horse I was training. And it's essential to instill faith in them that they can pull that log. The logs have been returned to their rightful place. That's so great!
Today is a great day, Jim and his horses do woods logging in a winter wonderland!! We have a great day working in the jungle! Interesting experiences. Hope you like it!
