Why is gravity not a force?
In this video, we’ll explain why gravity is not a force by going through Albert Einstein’s theory of general relativity.
According to Isaac Newton, gravity is the force with which a planet or other celestial body attracts objects toward its center. His theory suggests that gravity keeps all the planets in orbit around the sun. Newton believed that there is a gravitational force pushing everything toward the ground.
However, Albert Einstein’s theory of general relativity challenged Newton’s gravity theory. Einstein's theory explains gravity as the distortion of spacetime caused by the presence of matter or energy. A massive object creates a gravitational field by warping the geometry of the surrounding spacetime.
