Here's our moving vlog - Leading up to our move has been A LOT! But we are so excited to finally share our new house with you quys! More videos coming soon!
Guys, this truck is massive.
I care a lot more about the safety of my daughter than the aesthetics of the house.
No!
It did rip some of the paint!
We brought her home from the hospital into this house, and this is the very last night
I will ever put my daughter to sleep in here.
Bye!
People are watching us.
They're gonna think we're crazy.
Either that or they're like, oh, who did they leave up in the room?
Did they leave their child up there?
No!
We have some exciting news!
We move in two days, and so today and tomorrow, we're gonna be vlogging, just unpacking,
and getting everything all ready.
We are so sticking excited!
But before we unpack, we have to pack.
Yeah.
So, we're gonna be doing a little bit of vlogging.
The number one thing that I have to tackle today is some of Aspen's stuff.
Like we put...
Oh my gosh, guys.
Wait, actually, I have to show this to you.
So there's been a couple DIYs that just went a little bit south.
For example, this wall, you can't tell at all, but I'm gonna put a photo up on the screen.
So we had soundproof panels right here because our neighbors are a little loud.
So we had soundproof panels, and then we also had a curtain, and oh my gosh, it destroyed
our wall.
We were not getting our security deposit back at all, but we did a little DIY, and how would
they know?
Basically, we had to patch everything because the double-sided tape ripped the paint off.
We had to patch it, and then we had to go to Home Depot and color match, but it looks
so stinking good.
And then now, the thing that I need to tackle is Aspen's peel-and-stick wallpaper.
This is either going to be super easy, or it's gonna be the worst thing I've ever done.
I'm hoping it's really easy because I actually just bought the exact same wallpaper for Aspen's
room.
I don't want her to feel like she's in a completely new space.
I want her bedroom to basically be set up the exact same way, same wallpaper, same everything.
Even though she's only seven months, and she probably won't make that connection, still,
I don't want it to be a huge adjustment for her.
Speaking of her, hi pretty girl.
Can you say hi?
Wait, tell them about the grass.
We went outside, and we filmed a little TikTok, and I think Aspen's turning into a little
Gen Z baby because we set her in the grass, and instantly, her hands went straight up
in the air because she didn't want to touch the grass.
She looked like she was scared of it.
Were you scared of the grass, Aspen?
Was that some scary stuff?
She said it was scary.
I don't blame her.
I don't like the grass either, mostly because I'm always afraid that I'm gonna step on a
bee or something.
Sorry, I'm coming in.
We are taking down this peeling stick.
I think that's what shoes are for.
I know, but like, I just mean like, she had her hands in the grass, and she just didn't
want to touch it, and I'm like, same girl.
That's fair.
Alright, let's get this little thingy on a tripod, and by thingy, I mean camera.
Guys, I'm in such a good mood.
I'm so excited to move.
They finished the stairs.
It just looks so sticky.
Good.
We had to redo the stairs because all of the rods, I don't know what they're called, like
banisters, I guess, or spindles, all of the spindles were like in between four and six
inches.
If a spindle is in between six inches, a baby could slip through.
I care a lot more about the safety of my daughter than the aesthetics of the house, so we had
to redo all of that.
I just like cannot express how stinking excited I am to finally move.
I just feel like it's been way too long.
Like, we bought this house over a month ago, and we've just been doing a ton of renovations.
The next video might just be an empty house tour.
Here's the moment of truth.
Guys, I'm scared.
If I have to patch this whole wall, I'm gonna cry.
Ooh.
It's coming off, but it definitely left a little bit of residue.
It is coming off, though.
One strip done.
I don't think the residue is noticeable enough.
We'll be fine.
But when we first moved into this place, the maintenance man, he warned us.
He said, be so careful.
He said, Invitation Homes will try to get you for everything.
Slow and steady wins the race.
Two.
Three.
No!
It did rip some of the paint.
Dang.
Not a ton, but it definitely did.
No!
Four.
It ripped some paint.
Dang.
Okay.
Five.
My prayer board that Alex so graciously hung up.
I'll use it in the new house.
I wanted to put all the prayers on here so that while I was nursing Aspen, I could look
at it and I could remember to pray.
I just didn't do a lot of nursing in here, as much as I thought.
Six.
Ooh, we're getting to the end.
I'll move you guys so you can kind of see what I'm doing a little bit more.
Seven.
Eight.
And last one.
This is only pencil.
I don't know if you guys can see it, but it is not a hole in the wall.
It looks like a gigantic crack, but it's just pencil.
I lost count.
Is this nine?
Ten?
Either way, we're done.
Yay!
Honestly, this actually isn't that bad.
It ripped some of the paint off, but this is nothing and you can kind of see like there
is a little bit of glue residue, but this is like nothing.
That'll be so easy to fix.
So we got this wallpaper from Wall Blush.
I'll link it down below.
We have loved it.
I think it's actually so beautiful.
Like I said, we got it for the new house too.
And so this is really nice to know that we're not going to destroy our walls.
I'm always really hesitant when it comes to renter-friendly anything because you always
see them putting stuff on, but you don't always see them taking it off.
Like, I want to know if it's renter-friendly, how much damage is it actually going to cause
to my walls?
This is our downstairs.
We've been drinking out of Solo cups because we packed all of our cups.
For the most part, like everything is gone.
We've also been living off of like pizza and just really, really, really easy meals.
I really wish that we had friends that like, you know how like military people, they move
every single like year or something.
I feel like they're like pro movers.
Like I'd want to know like, what are some tips?
Like, is it normal to just be eating fast food and really quick pizzas for like the
last week right before you're about to move?
Is there a trick to it?
Because Alex and I eat pretty healthy.
And so I don't love the fact that we are living off of like McDonald's, pizza, all that stuff.
Like, do people just wait until the very last day to pack up their kitchen?
Because I'm waiting until the last day to pack up like the bathrooms and stuff like
that because we're going to need our shampoo conditioner.
Oh.
Okay, back to the room.
I don't even know where to start.
I literally don't.
Making my way in here.
I think we're going to use the extra large box.
Let's do this thing.
This was our really big kickeroo.
One of my biggest regrets, I would say.
Like, purchase regrets.
We never use it.
It's so expensive.
And we literally never use it.
Ever.
Okay, Alex put this on the wall and I cannot get it off.
Aha!
Boom, baby!
I don't even know how to put this in a box.
It doesn't really fit.
I don't know if this is what this stuff is for.
But I'm just trying to make sure it doesn't get ruined.
Courtney and I have been switching on and off basically the whole day packing and watching
Aspen.
It is very, very difficult to pack while you've got a little seven-month-old rolling around.
I'm wearing my Ray-Bans.
I've just been listening to music while packing up.
I just got the office done.
I really, really hope that Courtney is the one that opens up this box right here.
I don't know if you remember any of our videos where, I think we've only done one video where
we used that guy.
Maybe it was two.
But that is a full-sized human being stuffed inside of a box.
Not gonna lie, I felt a little bit weird packing that one up.
As you can see here, I've got boxes from packing up the office here.
Yeah, there's not a ton more to do.
Really excited to get out of here.
Got the YouTube plaque right here that we have not hung up yet.
Just felt kind of weird hanging up a YouTube plaque, telling everybody how many subscribers we have.
Obviously, it's like super, super cool that we have over a million subscribers.
But in a sense, it almost feels just a little bit braggy to hang it up.
Especially in a common place, I could see maybe doing that in an office.
But curious what your thoughts are.
Would you hang up a plaque that said that you got a million followers?
And if you did, would you feel comfortable doing that in a living room
or a common space where other people would see it?
All that's left inside of the office right now that I have not packed
are just some of my basic necessities that I'm going to keep unpacked
or just put into a little bag.
So I've got my laptop.
I've got my Bible.
That's almost it.
I've got my Ray-Bans, my meta Ray-Bans, in case I want to listen to some music.
And we're about to move into the bedroom here.
I think I need to get a towel or something
because I need to unplug our little mini fridge.
Or I might just set it outside and let it melt.
I don't know. Is that going to be nasty?
I hope that doesn't make the fridge smell.
It's the next day and oh my gosh.
Okay, so I was vlogging a little bit
and then I was like, oh look, I'll vlog later.
And then I think it hit us how much stuff we actually needed to pack.
Like this is crazy.
I'm going to show you guys the current state of our house
and we are probably going to be up for another like two hours.
It's like, it's not like the big things.
Like packing up Aspen's bedroom, easy.
It's like the little tiny things that are just like making things so hard.
Like I don't even know how to describe it.
But it's like the little tiny things around your house
that like just doesn't even have a place.
So this is the state of the office.
I already packed up the bathroom.
We have this here.
Aspen's room is completely packed.
This is just like trash.
Like I need, some of this is trash.
Some of this is donations.
More boxes that we need to pack up.
Like my desk was like a whole thing.
Oh my gosh, that was so hard.
And then the bedroom.
Okay, so this is the bathroom.
This is, this is just, it's so much.
The closet's full of boxes.
It is just so much fun.
I am going to go show you Alex.
So he's trying to break down like the TV, the TV mount.
There's just so much.
Like we need to pack up our whole pantry.
Like all of the food in the fridge, the freezer.
That took forever.
My hand and my wrists, my forearms are tired.
How are you doing?
I'm definitely slowing down, that's for sure.
But we're still kicking it.
I told them how much stuff.
Like we, we totally underestimated.
Guys, look at this place.
It's just a ton.
We do, we do have a lot in boxes right now.
But there are still a lot of random loose items around the house
that we're going to have to take care of soon.
That's what I was telling them.
It's like the little things where it's like,
you just don't have a place for it.
I don't know, like even like phone chargers, tripods.
Like I can walk into our kitchen and tell you
what we're about to struggle.
Curtain rods, like pack this stuff.
This mini little bowl right here.
I'm like, I don't know.
Now that I got the TV stand down,
where on earth do you put that?
Or the TV mount?
Oh yeah.
I think it's the most awkward shape.
I'm also procrastinating my Keurig
because I know it would make sense
for the Keurig to go with the toaster down here.
But I don't think they fit in the same box.
So that's the other thing.
It's just trying to figure out boxes.
Like trying, it's like you want to figure out what's in the box
and then how big the box has to be.
It's just, it's a lot.
But I just put Aspen down for the night.
I don't know.
It was kind of sad because this is the home
that we brought her home in
for the very first time.
And so it's just, I'm like,
oh, we brought her home from the hospital
into this house.
And this is the very last night
I will ever put my daughter to sleep in here.
It's kind of sad.
We lived in like a little apartment before this,
but this was like a house.
Will we miss it?
We'll miss the windows.
The windows, guys.
Look how many windows were in here.
It was amazing.
But I don't think I'm going to miss living next to neighbors.
I think I needed a little bit more privacy.
Especially with the amount of windows.
Having some space.
It's going to be nice.
Because a dirty rug hates to see me coming.
Watch out.
I don't know.
We found something that we don't know what it is.
Anybody know what that is?
Literally no clue.
It like crumbles in your hand.
Like what is this?
I literally don't even have a single guess.
I don't either.
Like it's like chalk.
Clearly we have not moved our couch.
I don't think even once since we moved in.
But it's like chalk.
And we have confetti from my baby shower.
That was actually from that one TikTok video
we filmed when I popped the balloon.
Oh, is that what that's from?
Yeah.
The pink confetti in there though,
that might be from the baby shower.
All the other colors was not.
Well, I'm going to get this vacuumed
because we have to get up so early tomorrow.
I'm getting to it.
It's moving day!
How do you guys feel?
How do you feel?
Are you happy?
She looked happy.
I'm excited.
How do you feel?
I'm ready to get it over with.
Hey!
We will never move into our first home together ever again.
So I just want to enjoy it.
We have moving help.
We're packed.
You look at all the boxes.
We're getting there.
We're pretty close.
Honestly, I don't think we should be stressed at all.
So it's going to be so good.
We're going to go pick up our 26-foot truck.
Guys, we were not messing around today.
Absolutely not.
We've gotten small U-Hauls before to try to save money.
Not this time.
Driving the big rig, baby.
That's like basically a semi, right?
No, not that big.
No.
26 feet?
Not a semi.
That's massive!
A semi, you got a lot more than 26 feet.
Yeah, so we're going to go to Starbucks
and then we're going to go pick up our truck.
And then this little girl, she has no idea what's going on.
But guys, like, she's about to move into her first home!
Yeah!
Alright, come on baby girl.
Let's go get you inside the car.
Let's go!
We're picking up our U-Haul at 7.
And then at 9, we're going to have some moving help.
Literally from 9 to 1.
Which I don't think we're going to need 4 hours of moving help.
But that's a thing.
And then it takes us an hour to get down to the property.
And then from 2 to 5, we're going to have people helping us unload.
We also have a couple friends coming to watch Aspen a little bit.
I don't know how we could do this without someone watching Aspen.
She's in the stage right now where I just feel like she wants to play 24-7 when she's awake.
I might just not be able to play with her that much today.
So, luckily we have some friends that will.
And they're also going to bring their babies.
So hopefully that'll just like kind of keep her distracted a little bit.
Alex just said, I'm surprised it's so dead.
It is 6.30 in the morning.
It's not even that early.
I feel like people go to work at 7 all the time.
I don't know if they do.
All I know is I've noticed that if I leave the house before 7 o'clock, I never hit traffic.
You know what you want?
Yeah.
Thanks for the Starbucks. What can I get for you?
Hi, may I please do a venti iced brown sugar oat milk shake and espresso?
Could I also have a sausage cheddar and egg sandwich?
Could we get one more sausage cheddar and egg sandwich too, please?
How Alex can go to Starbucks and not get coffee will forever be a mystery to me.
No, we'll have the sandwiches right out for you, Alex.
Great, thanks.
Okay, this is the moment of truth.
Because I've came here to this specific location a couple times.
And they have messed up my drink.
So we're going to shake it and taste it.
I'm debating.
It's fine.
No, this is good.
Alex is joking around saying that I need to get a new favorite drink.
Seriously?
Because when it's made well, this is the best drink on the Starbucks menu.
It is their iced brown sugar oat milk shake and espresso.
It's literally the best.
But when it's made wrong, even the slightest bit.
Like maybe they accidentally add an extra shot of espresso.
Or maybe they don't add enough milk or add too much milk.
It is just a zero.
It tastes so yucky.
But right now I'm like, it's a tiny bit strong.
But it's still, it works.
It's good.
I came here the other day though.
Actually, two days in a row.
And they made my drink so strong.
The best way to describe it was that it just tasted burnt.
And I've went through this before.
Because even if they add too much ice, it can throw off the ratio.
And then it's like, I just paid $8 for a drink that I absolutely hate.
Alex thinks that I might be a coffee snob.
I think you need to find something else to drink.
But it's so good.
If I had to gamble between a 1000% drink and a zero.
I would take it.
If there was a chance that I was going to get the best drink in the entire world.
That's just me.
I'd rather that drink than just like a meh coffee.
U-Haul's popping.
It's not even 7 o'clock.
And there's a lot going on.
There's a lot of people here.
There are a lot of people here.
I'm pretty sure I can't get the U-Haul until exactly 7.
So we're just going to sit here for two minutes.
Aspen's been great.
Oh my gosh, look at this girl.
Hi Aspen.
Hey.
I don't even know if it'll focus.
Hey girl.
Guys, this truck is massive.
Are you nervous at all?
No, but that's a big truck.
I told you it's like a semi.
Wait until I drive by and see how big it is.
Oh gosh.
Why am I scared?
So our moving help just got here.
Guys, it has been so nice.
I've never had a move go so easily.
We're just packing up the small miscellaneous stuff
that we've been struggling with.
But they are loading everything.
And it has been amazing.
We are all packed up.
We have literally so much stuff.
It's crazy because I don't think it's just now hitting me
that in one hour we're going to be at our new house
that we own.
Here's Alex.
What do you got in your hands?
I got the last grocery bag with some of our refrigerated stuff.
And all the cleaning supplies in here.
Oh, fun.
All right, we're going to wave to this house.
Bye.
Little townhome.
If people are watching us, they're going to think we're crazy.
Either that or they're like,
Oh, who did they leave up in the room?
Did they leave their child up there?
No.
Oh my gosh.
I guess we kind of have to end this.
This is it.
So the next video you guys might see is an empty house tour.
It's an option.
We have to see if like everything's all done.
Or it's going to be a little vlog of us
spending the night tonight in our home.
Our very first home.
Crazy.
Last video ever at this place.
Yeah.
Wow.
That's crazy.
It's kind of crazy to say.
Oh my gosh.
Stop.
Bye guys.
