Timberwolves Make SNEAKY Perfect Signing...

So today we begin with the Timberwolves make sneaky perfect signing as Timberwolves president
Tim Connolly assigned not one but two well-known players to training camp contracts which of
course will give them both an opportunity to grab that coveted and I do mean that coveted
15th spot on the Minnesota Timberwolves roster for the upcoming NBA season.
Welcome back to the Timberwolves digest as always North America. I'm Dave Dubois and I
bring you the latest Minnesota Timberwolves news trade reports trade rumors and of course
a whole lot of commentary. Today we're going to talk about both of these well-known players.
I want to know if you like these ideas as long-term potential players on the Minnesota
Timberwolves or if you actually dislike them. We're going to start off with Drew Timmy who
of course was famous for his time in collegiate basketball with Gonzaga. Former Lakers Drew
Timmy has joined the Timberwolves for the upcoming training camp. He has signed a
contract now there's Drew Timmy and the other player that the Timberwolves went out and got a
deal done with recently is KJ Martin and if you're wondering where is KJ Martin been they actually
did not play at all last season in the National Basketball Association. So if you're Tim Connolly
just put yourself in Tim Connolly's shoes who would you ultimately end up choosing for the
15th roster spot? Now of course there is the possibility that Kevin Love will still become
available and the Timberwolves will go in a completely different direction but assume that
doesn't happen which of these two players would you want on this Minnesota Timberwolves roster?
If you are new to the Timberwolves Digest please go ahead and subscribe and I always like to say
if you like the pod well then go ahead and like the pod. So are you choosing KJ or are you choosing
good old Drew Timmy? So let's talk about what Drew Timmy has actually done or I guess in some cases
not done in the National Basketball Association so far in his career. He's had two seasons
in the NBA with what can best be described as limited minutes in limited games. In the
two seasons he was eligible to even play in the National Basketball Association
Drew Timmy has put together a whopping 36 games in which he's had the opportunity to play.
Split that between the Brooklyn Nets and the Los Angeles Lakers. Now played for the Lakers
last season the year before he ended up playing for the tanking Brooklyn Nets and I have to say
there were several games in which I thought Drew Timmy showed a lot of promise when he was playing
for the tanking Brooklyn Nets. If I had to lean in one direction over the other direction I probably
like the Drew Timmy upside a little bit more than I do KJ Martin at this point but it's not about me
I want to know what your thoughts and opinions are. So a special shout out to our sponsor on
the Timberwolves Digest today and that of course is Kelshi. Now on Kelshi you're trading directly
against other users not the house like traditional sports folks you're buying yes or no contracts on
the outcome of events across sports politics or even the weather as an example of all of that I
put together a contract for the Timberwolves a $25 contract against a five percent chance of winning
the NBA title. I don't know about you but I've been following this Minnesota Timberwolves team
pretty heavily especially during the offseason and I can confidently tell you that
five percent seems like a little bit low at least in my opinion. Quite frankly I think we all can
agree that the third best team in the Western Conference and maybe even surprise some people
along the way. So I think this is an interesting opportunity and this is what I'm going out and
rolling the dice on so to speak. Now if you're interested in Kelshi
in trying out Kelshi use the link in the description and pinned comment and code
DigestNBA to get $50 added that's right $50 added to your account instantly when you trade your first
$25. So that's Kelshi our sponsor of the Timberwolves Digest today. So we took a look
at what Drew Timmy has done throughout his short NBA career. I just wanted to sort of roll up what
KJ Martin has done. Now look I thought KJ Martin at times especially when he was with the Philadelphia
76ers was a really solid player and certainly did a great job when he played for the Houston Rockets
when the Rockets had decided they were going to be tanking and we'll get into some of those
specific numbers in just a little bit but KJ Martin did not play last season. He actually
ended up getting cut about a year ago was never picked up by another NBA team which of course
surprised me last year because I thought KJ Martin still had a lot to offer especially when you
consider he can sort of play multiple positions on the court. 8.6 points, 4 rebounds and 1.2 assists
those are his stats for his career. Now I talked a little bit about what KJ Martin did when he was
with the Houston Rockets back in the early 2020s. Can't believe I'm saying early 2020s at this point.
Anyways his best season was in 22-23. He played in all 82 games, 12.7 points and 5.5 rebounds
and a shooting percentage from the field of 56.9. Now remember Tim Connelly in the Minnesota
Timberwolves especially in the makeup of this roster are looking for a couple things that don't
exist on the roster today. The question is do you think a Drew Timmy who's only had two years of or
two years of what I would call a drink of water in the NBA at this point has more upside in the
long run for this Minnesota Timberwolves team for that 15th roster spot. I want to know what
your thoughts and opinions are North America please go ahead and drop them in. So as we
mentioned Drew Timmy has signed a deal to play with the Timberwolves at least during training
camp. Training camp actually tips off on Tuesday so it'll be very interesting to see how this all
actually plays out but real quick if you are Tim Connelly and you're making the big bucks to be the
president of the Minnesota Timberwolves and once you get through training camp who are you picking?
Now personally I'm going with Drew Timmy but I'd love to get your thoughts and your opinions.
All right that is all that I have for you today on the Timberwolves Digest. Thanks so much for
tuning in. As always in North America I'm Dave Duvall wishing you all a tremendous rest of your sports viewing day.
