They Found a New Star...(and it's not LaMelo)

So today we begin with the Minnesota Timberwolves have found a new star and it's not LaMelo and that certainly isn't to take anything away from how great LaMelo Ball has been to this point but at the end of the day Jaden McDaniels absolutely has an opportunity for these Minnesota Timberwolves this year to take a major leap forward welcome back to the Timberwolves Digest as always in North America I'm Dave DuBois and I bring you the latest Minnesota Timberwolves news trade reports trade rumors and of course a whole lot of commentary on today's show we're going to talk about Jaden McDaniels I have an unbelievable quote from head coach Chris Finch in which he talks about giddiness which we're going to get into as well plus i've got your comments in a mailbag section of the Timberwolves Digest which we'll get into in just a little bit as well but we begin with me asking you the question will Jayden actually average 20 points per game this season drop your comments in North America i want to know what your thoughts and opinions are about Jayden going north of 20 points per game this season last season he was about 15 and now he has LaMelo Ball on the court and assuming LaMelo Ball stays healthy there's a big asterisk right next to that but assuming he does stay healthy the offense is going to get significantly easier for everybody including Jayden and i believe Jayden is the star that will be born as a result of all of this i'd love to get your thoughts and comments now if you are new to the Timberwolves Digest please go ahead and subscribe and I always like to say if you like the pod well then go ahead and like it all right to uh head coach Chris Finch we've got a lot more on Jaden as well coming up for you but first I wanted to touch on this story which broke yesterday because it was just absolutely fabulous Finchie talks about how they traded away moodiness for giddiness if you will shots have been fired Julius Randle and we all know that head coach Chris Finch and Julius Randle actually have a or had I should say a good relationship it's a question of whether or not that relationship will survive this particular comment more on Jaden McDaniels and this comment for you coming up in just a bit so do you all know what actually ruins a great outfit well the answer to that question is an old beat up belt that quite frankly hasn't fit right in years that's why i'm super excited today to have Anson Belt and Buckle as the sponsor of today's video instead of holes Anson uses a micro adjustable track system with quarter inch increments so your belt fits perfectly every single time and i am telling you right now once you experience that kind of fit and comfort trust me you'll never want to go back to wearing a regular belt again now i've been wearing mine non-stop since i got it and honestly it is the best belt that i've actually ever had once you try it trust me you'll never go back to your old belts again and if you're wondering why you should trust them well this is a company that's still proudly family owned and operated and has earned over 40,000 five-star reviews like this one from Chad M they back their belts with a lifetime guarantee on functionality they stand behind every product they make and once you get one you'll see why and because Anson Belt and Buckle is sponsoring today's video when you click the link in the description or scan the QR code to build a box set you'll get two bonus pieces a buckle and a strap completely free that's three buckles three straps which can be mixed and matched into nine unique belt combos all in one box it's an exclusive deal you won't get anywhere else so click the link build your set and upgrade your belt game today so the last thing I wanted to say about this is head coach Chris Finch and I've been following Finchie for a long time now this is as loose and as confident as I've ever seen head coach Chris Finch actually going into an NBA season and I believe a lot of that is directly attributed to the changes that the Timberwolves team has made specifically around LaMelo Ball some of the other changes as well he seems to be super excited about what's coming up for the team now this is what Jaden did against the New York Knicks the other day and the thing you have to look at right here is just how easy those three-point shots were catch and shoot threes Jaden did not have to if you will create his own shots and that's going to be a huge difference for the Timberwolves and Jaden McDaniels in the upcoming season uh Jaden is always on the edge uh this is a comment from uh from you all uh Jaden is always on the edge of where he uh can become a dog his games were he is but never consistently now with two stars i'm having trouble reading this apparently next to him why would his average actually go up by the way i love Jaden but i don't think jay he averages 18 15 tops all right I completely disagree with this particular comment. I think what we saw in the game against the Knicks is what you're going to see during the regular season. Now, the consistency that this particular person is talking about is certainly something that Jaden does need to address. Sometimes he gets, as I like to say, lost in the 60s. he sort of falls asleep out there but I think as we move forward with Jaden we are going to see less of that actually happening with Jaden this particular year now Jaden's making 26 million bucks per year uh I think when we see he'll get a bit of a raise but I think the value of Jaden McDaniels is awesome that's why the Timberwolves went ahead and signed him to a long-term deal before all right um we're gonna get into mailbag in just a second i did want to cover this quick thing here from Tim Connelly uh if it doesn't work out and it's my job i'll get fired Connelly confess that's uh that's fine but i don't ever want to be in a position where we're reluctant to take a big swing this is coming from john krasinski uh tim connelly quote from yesterday as well uh absolutely love the fact that we have a general or in this case a president of the minnesota timberwolves that is willing to take swings trust me that is what ultimately works in the National Basketball Association. All right, so we're going to get into some more of your comments. Ant is Jordan. Jaden is Pippen in this particular case. I thought that was a pretty funny comment. And then we've got a comment from you all about Rudy Gobert, a story we did yesterday on the Timberwolves Digest. The Wolves have all the offensive firepower one team needs. But where we're lacking in is rim protection and rebounding. So in that world, would we get rid of the main player that does both of those things on a high level? Okay, so this was in reference to a question about whether or not the Timberwolves should consider trading away Rudy Gobert. And I think, of course, the audience has spoken about that. clearly i think you want to keep gobert on this team back to our question of the day will jayden average 20 points per game this year drop your comments in north america hey thanks so much for all of your support uh please go ahead and subscribe if you haven't subscribed and as always for the timberwolves digest i'm an absolutely fired up minnesota timberwolves fan I'm Dave Duvall wishing you all a tremendous rest of your sports viewing day.
