AI GeneratedThe Minnesota Timberwolves are making strategic roster and coaching adjustments. The team has hired Daniel Brady as a new assistant coach and is exploring a \"super sub\" role for Io, who could potentially contend for the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award due to the team's increased depth and the presence of Kaminga.
So today we begin with multiple Timberwolves updates.
This has serious implications with the addition of Kaminga.
It appears Io DeSumo could be a favorite for six man of the year in the NBA.
And yes, head coach Chris Finch actually has a new assistant coach and well, good
old Tom Thibodeau was somehow involved in all of that.
Welcome back to the Timberwolves Digest as always North America.
I'm Dave DeBaw and I bring you the latest Minnesota Timberwolves news, trade reports,
trade rumors, and of course, a whole lot of commentary and absolutely huge show for
you all today.
If you're new to the Timberwolves Digest, please go ahead and subscribe.
And as I always say, if you like the pod, well then go ahead and like it.
We begin with two questions.
Now, the first question I have for you all is do you actually trust head coach Chris
Finch? We're going to talk more about head coach Chris Finch in just a little bit, but
I want to know what your thoughts and opinions are about that.
In addition to that question, how important do you believe Io is actually going to be
for this Minnesota Timberwolves team?
I said it in the opening with Kaminga being on the team now, a good old Io could turn
into a super sub and if you will, could have a real legitimate shot at actually winning
the six man of the year award.
Now, before we get into the new assistant coach hire, I did want to show this picture
to you all.
I was particularly proud of this one.
This is the odd couple.
Can you imagine what it would be like if head coach Chris Finch and Tom Thibodeau
actually shared an apartment?
What would those conversations actually be like?
All right, so we're going to get into the new Timberwolves assistant head coach and
then we're going to talk extensively about head coach Chris Finch and Io as well.
So who am I?
Here's a picture of a guy that I'm sure many of you have never actually seen before.
Now, that is actually a gentleman named Daniel Brady.
Brady spent last season as an assistant coach with the Rio Grande, can't even say
Grande, right?
Valley Vipers in the NBA G League.
Have any of you actually ever caught a Rio Grande Valley Vipers game before?
Before that, he spent three seasons as an assistant under Tom Thibodeau with the
New York Knicks.
Of course, he spent time with Tom Thibodeau.
It's interesting that there is a relationship, actually, between Tom Thibodeau
and head coach Chris Finch.
We'll talk more about that as well as Io in just a little bit.
But first, a special shout out goes to our new sponsor of the Timberwolves
Digest.
That's right, folks.
It's Kelshi.
On Kelshi, you're trading directly against other users, not the house, like
traditional sports books.
You're buying yes or no contracts on the outcome of every event across sports,
politics, or even the weather.
Now, let me show you an example of what I put together for a pick that I placed for
the Minnesota Timberwolves to win 50 plus games in the upcoming season.
I went ahead and selected the green yes button.
And this is what Kelshi actually looks like.
Now, I do have a special discount code for you all.
If you're interested in trying out Kelshi, use the link in the description.

All right.
So that is our new sponsor, Kelshi.
I want to thank them for sponsoring the Big Pod.
On to the news around I.O.
Timberwolves roster changes will further highlight I.O.'s value.
He can now be a true super sub and a complement, a better roster.
At the end of the day, I believe I.O.
is going to have a significant role with this Minnesota Timberwolves team.
I believe head coach Chris Finch is going to use I.O.
correctly.
I think we saw how Chris Finch actually fell in love with I.O.'s game last season
when the Timberwolves actually did pick him up.
I.O.
is a true scorer, especially when other players are down.
Using him on a second team certainly will benefit the Timberwolves in a big way in
the upcoming season for sure.
I want to know what your thoughts and opinions are about I.O.
as well.
So we talked a little bit about the odd couple, which of course is head coach
Chris Finch.
As noted by John Krasinski, Tibbs and Chris Finch have a lot of mutual respect
for one another.
That's not saying they're sharing an apartment anytime soon, but I thought it
was an interesting statement.
Now head coach Chris Finch has been with the Timberwolves for five and a half
years now.
Remember he took over the team, ended up having a losing record.
I think it was like 16 and 26 in the first half of the season that he did
coach, but it's been all winning since then.
A 572 winning percentage for head coach Chris Finch in five and a half years with
the Timberwolves 258, 193 is his total record at this point.
I would love to know what your thoughts and your opinions are about head coach
Chris Finch.
Do you think head coach Chris Finch is still the right coach for this Minnesota
Timberwolves team?
I want to know what your thoughts and opinions are about that.
Please go ahead and drop them in when you have a chance.
And finally today, I did want to spend a little bit more time talking about IO and
I have to say I'm watching IO fit in with this team the way that he did.
I really wondered what was going on in Chicago.
Now we know that IO is from Chicago, wanted to be a Chicago Bulls, wanted to
play for the Bulls.
And yet the Bulls apparently did not utilize him correctly.
I understand it takes players time to develop in the National Basketball
Association and sometimes it takes players four or five years before they turn into
the players that we see today.
In IO's case, I think it was pretty obvious pretty early on that this kid could
potentially be the real deal sometime.
And if you were to put IO on 15 other NBA teams, you dropped him in on any of those
rosters, he would most likely be a starter on those teams.
It's just that this Minnesota Timberwolves team is so deep now we have the luxury of
actually working him in to that six man role.
I want to know what your thoughts and opinions are North America.
Hey, thanks so much for tuning in to the Timberwolves Digest.
As always, I'm Dave DeVaughn wishing you all a tremendous rest of your sports
viewing day.
