So today we begin with the Timberwolves DiVincenzo story has a personal detail.
Today we have multiple reports about the Timberwolves Dante DiVincenzo's recovery,
which actually involves a Boston Celtic player, an Indiana Pacer player, and
believe it or not, a Portland Trailblazer player, welcome back to the Timberwolves
digest as always North America.
I'm Dave DuBois and I bring you the latest Minnesota Timberwolves news trade
reports, trade rumors, and of course, a whole lot of commentary.
Now, as I mentioned, we've got multiple reports, uh, spanning the national
basketball association about Dante DiVincenzo, we've got some comments for
you all coming up from Tim Connolly, the Timberwolves president as well.
Going to start today though, by asking you all a question, will Dante actually
be a factor for the Timberwolves in the upcoming season?
I want to know what your thoughts, your opinions are.
Of course, we all know that he went down with that ACL, that torn ACL injury
against the Denver Nuggets in round one.
Now DiVincenzo at this point has recently stated on numerous occasions that he
plans on actually playing in the upcoming season, which of course would be a great
thing for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Now, if it's anything like Jason Tatum's recovery, my guess is we won't see Dante
until after the all-star break, maybe about a month and a half to go in the
season, that's when I would expect Dante to actually play.
Now the Timberwolves haven't officially set a month yet in terms of when they
think Dante will come back, but there have been indicators indicating, because
that's what indicators do, indicating that it looks like he will be back, um,
sometime after the NBA all-star break.
He's, this is coming from Dante himself.
He said the process has gone even better than he thought, and he does plan to play
at some point this season for the Timberwolves.
Love to get your thoughts, your opinions on Dante.
Now, in terms of Dante's recovery, uh, as we all know, he tore his, uh, his ACL in
April, so Jason Tatum has actually been helping him through the rehab process.
And when I heard that, I thought, okay, that's great because we know Tatum
actually came back a little sooner, uh, actually significantly sooner than a lot
of people, uh, thought he would come back from.
In addition to Tatum, there were several other players in the National Basketball
Association of note that Dante has actually mentioned.
That includes Tyrese Halliburton of the Indiana Pacers and Damian
Lillard of the Portland Trailblazers.
I guess it takes a community to, uh, to build a league.
And apparently the community has rallied around Dante DiVincenzo in giving him
some advice as he actually goes through his rehab process.
Coming up, we've got some Tim Connolly statements as well for all of you.
But first I want to put a special shout out to our sponsor of the
Timberwolves Digest today.
And that of course is Calshi.
On Calshi, you're trading directly against other users, not the house
like traditional sports books.
You're buying yes or no contracts on the outcomes of events across sports,
politics, or even the weather.
For example, now this is a contract that I put together for the Timberwolves
winning the NBA championship this year.
They have a 5% chance.
At least when I put this together a couple of days ago on a $25 contract
north of $460 just wanted to show you an example of what you could do with Calshi.
Now, uh, on Calshi, if you're interested in trying out Calshi, use the link in
the description and pin comment code digest NBA to get $55 added to your
account instantly when you trade your first $25 once again, thanks to Calshi.
For sponsoring the Timberwolves Digest.
All right.
So back to, uh, Dante DiVincenzo.
Now we all know that he actually was one of the best players for the
Wolves down the stretch last season.
And I think it would absolutely be a big lift for this Minnesota
Timberwolves team post NBA all-star game to get a player of Dante's caliber back.
Especially if he comes back at, let's say 90% of where he was before
he went down with that injury.
Now we all know how these injuries go.
That's not always the case.
Sometimes it takes players a longer to come back.
Sometimes it takes them a couple years before they get back to that level, but
you just never know.
And the way, uh, Dante was down the clutch for this Timberwolves
team, it certainly could be interesting.
So this is coming from Tim Connolly.
He said, we didn't, we don't want to put any additional pressure on him, but
we're, uh, cautiously optimistic that we're going to see Dante this season.
And we know how much he brings to our team.
Dante absolutely brings a lot to this Minnesota Timberwolves roster.
And now I'm going to show you a picture of the starting roster.
And when you think about this particular starting roster, and then you start to
think about the players, um, that we have coming off of the bench and yes, I'm
going to start off by saying Bones Highland, because I absolutely love what
Bones Highland can do for the Minnesota Timberwolves, the other players that
need to be mentioned as well include TJ and IO, of course, there are several
other players on the Timberwolves roster who are going to make an impact on this
team, but if you end up north of the all-star break and you can get 20 minutes
out of Dante DiVincenzo a night, 20 quality minutes out of Dante DiVincenzo
a night, combine that with the twin turbos of Bones Highland and IO.
And then you mix in a little bit of TJ, Baron J and a couple of the other
players on this Timberwolves roster.
You have what could be an extraordinarily dangerous franchise
when the playoffs actually start.
All right.
I would love to know what your thoughts, your opinions are on Dante DiVincenzo,
assuming that he does come back post NBA all-star break.
Do you believe that Dante will have a significant impact on
the Minnesota Timberwolves team?
I want to know what your thoughts, your opinions are North America.
All right.
Thanks so much for tuning in to the Timberwolves Digest.
As always, I'm Dave DeBawe wishing you all a tremendous rest of your sports viewing day.
