The San Jose Sharks just got exposed as they go into this game without their star player
in Macklin Celebrini and they get absolutely torn apart by the Dallas Stars 5-0.
In this video we're going to break down everything that everybody in the locker room had to say
about this devastating loss, talk about how we can start to right this ship and so much
more.

It's completely free to do so, but yes, unfortunately we're back here talking about a devastating
loss to the Dallas Stars here 5-0 and there was a lot to be said in this locker room post
game that I think you guys are going to want to hear, so we're going to dive right into
it.
First, we got to talk a little bit about this loss and kind of set the scene to some of
these comments we're going to hear today.
Let's get into it here.
The Sharks fall apart in Dallas, their first road game of the year and they end up getting
tossed around by a team that was 0-2 heading into this.
They obviously start their season, they get a second overtime win here in their last game
and then Celebrity is scratched with a lower body injury before the game starts.
He leaves warm-ups early and it really just set the tone for this game.
Him being out of this lineup really took a toll on the morale in this locker room.
The team came out flat and they just could not get it back.
They were just getting beat up the whole game.
It was like the Dallas Stars had the power play the entire game for 60 minutes.
They were getting run out of town and unfortunately it was tough to see our team that we know
can do so much better than this have this type of performance and hopefully we can see
them start to regain something back from this and hopefully Celebrity isn't that injured
as we're hearing right now at this point as I'm recording this video.
He is day-to-day with a lower body injury.
The team is still kind of making their tests and trying to figure out what his situation
is but we haven't heard anything more than he is day-to-day at this point so we'll keep
you up to date when we hear more on the Celebrity front.
But let's just keep on talking about the bad start here.
The first period they were out shot 11-2 and then they obviously lost 5-0.
They couldn't get it back from there.
We were live on stream last night and we were saying going into this first intermission
we really needed someone to step up in this locker room, talk, try to get somebody fired
up, somebody to come out here and take control of this game to get back into it.
Unfortunately they didn't and they came out flat again the second and then that was kind
of it from there and it kind of got out of hand from there as well.
Unfortunately you know, back when Celebrity being out of this lineup really really hurt
this team last night.
You know obviously a star player, the captain, you don't want to go into a game without this
player and I know that if this had to happen in practice maybe it could have been different
last night.
Maybe people would have had time to deal with it and get their heads on straight but it
seemed like this just happens minutes before we get into the game like breaking news like
just before the game starts and you know unfortunately the team has to deal with this, switch their
game plan going into this game on the fly and they just couldn't get it back unfortunately
and it really sucked to see.
But one thing that we were talking about is Will Smith must help drive the response.
Last night we really didn't see Will Smith do anything.
You know he wasn't really taking control the way he needed to and step up in the absence
of the big star and he basically just said we've got to be better and that's true.
The team needs to be better in these situations.
You cannot go into these games and be getting blown out by nothing.
You can't do this.
Like if you do this all season you're not going to make the playoffs and ultimately
the goal this year is to get to the playoffs and we need when our guys are out, we need
our guys like Will Smith to step up here, take control of this game and take control
offensively for you know his best buddy Mac who just gets out.
You would want to hope that he takes some fire from this game and just saying going
forward when this happens I need to bite down, I need to be a better player and hopefully
we can see that from Smith and we all know he can create offense.
Like his strengths, his points per game per 60 are almost at 3 right now.
He's playing out of his mind but he just completely lost control last night and yes maybe it was
bad because you know Warsawski put De'Landri up on the top line instead of Misa and maybe
if we had Misa on the top line we could have seen a better game from the Sharks last night.
I think the miscoaching last night really led to this loss as well.
Celebrini being out, we're not putting Misa and Stember together, instead we're putting
De'Landri up on this top line, we're not even putting Smith to his national position in
the center, bringing a guy like Leeson in who really had to stand out preseason.
It was just some bad decisions by Ryan Warsawski last night no doubt but you know it's not
all on him.
The team has to respond in this situation as well and speaking on the Warsawski of it
all, this is what he had to say, he demands better connection in these type of games
basically saying we gotta control better going up the ice, saying we just gotta be more connected.
The passing needs to be better, we need to you know not just get it like lazy, flip it
out of the zone, tip it in and go for a change.
We gotta try to make something happen.
We gotta be connected better, going through the neutral zone, making our zone entries
and they were completely disconnected last night.
There was not one good entry into the zone last night.
It was downright, probably the worst, one of the worst hockey games I've ever watched
in my entire life so hopefully we can learn from this and get better and come into this
game on Thursday against St. Louis.
All cylinders firing, hoping to get back on the win sheet.
We're not going to win all 84 but you know we want to look better than this and basically
just Warsawski says we didn't have numbers on pucks, just basically saying we couldn't
get the puck at all.
We couldn't disrupt them coming down the neutral zone, we couldn't poke pucks off their stick,
we couldn't get it from them when they were hounding us in our zone.
We just couldn't get the puck on our stick at all last night.
The penalty kill looked good, was probably the bright spot, I think Stenberg out of every
single person that was on this ice looked the best and when your 18 year old rookie
in his third game is looking the best on the ice in this situation, it's not a good look
right?
So hopefully we can see the veterans and some of the bigger names in this locker room pick
it up for these guys.
This should light a fire under the team saying we got to win it for Mac, this is what the
mentality should be but unfortunately they just went out there and dropped the biggest
goose egg I've ever seen in a hockey game and you know Ryan Warsawski has to set a standard
in this locker room.
I know he's a respected coach in this locker room, a lot of people on the live stream with
me last night were calling for him to be fired but he needs to set the standard in this locker
room and really start to get a bit angry at this team.
Have a bit of fire within what he's saying within the locker room but try to ignite something
within these players when you're down, bad in this situation, you need to be yelling
at them to wake up and I don't think that's the type of coach Warsawski is but in these
situations someone needs to do it, whether it's an assistant captain like Darnell Nurse
or Toffoli, somebody needs to try to wake these guys up when they're in situations like
that and unfortunately we did not see anything like that last night and just keep it on going
here.
Delandria says he's got to bring more than that and you know he draws into this lineup,
he knows he wasn't expected to play coming into this game, he gets a last minute call
to get in here and I know he's probably not ready mentally to get into a game but like
he says he's just got to be better than that, like he's got to come into this game playing
on the top line, playing a big role, you know Macklin Celebrini's role and he comes in and
I mean he didn't look the best at all, I mean this is a guy who was the worst plus minus
in the league last year hoping to come back and show something and prove something and
he didn't and just looking his stats, his hits were up and his faceoff percentage was
up but his points were down and when your points go down we do not want to see that
so you know there just needs to be more accountability within this locker room and holding these
players to a higher standard because we're not in a rebuild anymore, we're coming out
of the better side of it and we're hoping to get back in the playoffs and getting smoked
by one of the top teams in the league 5-0 is not the way to do it and this is what Nurse
had to say, Nurse is calling for a team response and he's basically just saying we've got to
share the load, you know we've got to be better than this, like it's just the way it is in
this locker room and unfortunately we're not seeing anything happen here as Nurse says
it's by committee right, like we need a team response and a team saying okay our big guy
through our first two wins, we've got to go out and show the world that we're not just
a celebriny team, we can go out there and win games without our captain and they didn't,
they dropped a goose egg, they didn't even have a chance at getting a goal last night,
like it was brutal, like everybody that watched that game fully through last night, you know
I appreciate everybody who stuck in the stream with me last night because that was a horrible
game to watch and at one point in the stream we were talking about collecting hockey cards,
that's how bad the game was and when we're talking about that, you know it just shows
how bad they played and Nurse says we need to just by committee, people need this next
man up mentality and we did not see that last night and hopefully going into these next
games we can start to see this, start to see this team come together again and we're playing
the St. Louis Blues, a team that's been bad early in this season and we need to go into
enemy territory in St. Louis and just have an absolutely offensive you know firehouse
in there, we need to just get in there, set some fireworks off and just win this game,
score 3 goals, score 4 goals and get the momentum back on the side of the San Jose Sharks, get
some you know obviously instill the fans with you know we can do this, like we can actually
make the playoffs this year and hopefully we do get to see this and I really hope that
we can go into St. Louis and win this game but as all you guys know it was a tough game
to watch last night and you know you're not going to win all 84 but you don't want to
lose games that badly like we did last night so hopefully we can learn from this, hopefully
we go into St. Louis on Thursday and come out with a win and we're going to keep you
up to date on everything around this team, heading into the game on Thursday so to stay
up to date to that hit a like, subscribe to the channel as always, I've been your host
KC, keep your stick on the ice.
