AI GeneratedThe Houston Texans are bolstering their roster with key players returning from injury just in time for their international matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. Despite a struggling start to the season, the team is optimistic that these reinforcements and the addition of Marvin Harrison Jr. will revitalize their offense and defense to keep playoff hopes alive.
The Houston Texans have a golden opportunity
as coming off of their first win of the season
multiple players are expected to return from injury.
How does this affect the Houston Texans
and can they still make the playoffs despite a one in four start?
What's up ladies and gentlemen
welcome back to Texans Digest.
I'm your host as always Isaac Estrada. Man we got a lot we need
to talk about today. Multiple players are coming back
from injury for the Houston Texans. I want
to talk about how that affects this Sunday against
the Jacksonville Jaguars in London
as well as if the Houston Texans can still make the playoffs man
so let's dive right into that
man but right before we get started I do want
to apologize man two days ago was the first time in
over two weeks that I did not upload
a daily video man I'm in my senior year of college all
that time is finally starting to catch up with me I had
to do my scheduling for my last semester of
college that plus a plethora of work finally caught up to me
and I know yesterday I was a
little bit late to the news about the Jacksonville Jaguars having
a player injury so I do apologize
guys, but I'm back, man, and I'm ready to get going
with these Houston Texans. So, man, right before
we dive into all that, 2,996 people have officially subscribed
to this channel. We are very quickly
approaching 3,000. I'm hoping to hit 3,000 by the end of the day.
So, if you're watching right now
and you are not subscribed, it would be greatly appreciated
if you were to do so, but regardless,
I appreciate you for watching this video.
Man, let's dive right into it. Multiple players are
expected to return from injury for the Houston Texans.
I want to start off with one of the
biggest names on that list. One of the names
that I looked at and saw, how in the world are they
already coming back? Henry Toa.
So if you guys remember, Henry Toa got injured week one against
the Buffalo Bills. The next day,
we kind of got the confirmation the next day, hey, Henry's going
to be placed on injury reserve.
Henry got a shoulder injury. Henry's probably not going to
play until at least week eight, probably around midpoint of the season.
We got this news. We got
this news recently from Aaron Wilson Texans
are designating linebacker Henry Toa for return to
practice after a sound recovery from shoulder injury
that is huge man that is huge for Henry
and it's huge for this defense man this defense needs a boost not just
because they struggled
against good teams like the Buffalo Bills like
the Cincinnati Bengals even though I think that
they get not enough credit for that Cincinnati game it's great
to have Henry back on this team
this this defense finally got a boost
of momentum whenever they put a whooping on the Tennessee
Titans this past Sunday
so you have them putting a whooping on the Tennessee Titans you get the
news a few days ago that Anton Harrison is going
to be injured for the Jacksonville Jaguars that
he will not be playing and now you get the boost
that Henry Toto starting to come back I I want to
point out very quickly though I don't think Henry
is going to play this Sunday he's designated to
return from injury soon I don't think it'll
be this Sunday I know we have our hopes up I just
I can't imagine him immediately hitting the 21 day window
and them saying yes you're gonna go
to London and you're gonna play I can't imagine
that but either way it is such it is crazy that
Henry's already back from injury
when we were sitting here saying okay hopefully week eight
or hopefully week nine because week eight
is our bye week hopefully around that time is when we're
gonna see Henry back and we're already starting
to get the reports that he's back that he's back
practicing and later we're gonna look
at the injury report because it says a lot about that
as well now I got even more news for you guys this one's
also big Tank Dell logs full practice
on Wednesday knee designated for return hey he had a full workout
so let's dive right into it man
we're gonna go very quick and fast today
on Texans Digest man we got a lot of players to talk about
Jonathan Alexander had reported this today
from Houston Texans training camp or from practice
a little bit of a lighter day practice today
but this was the first time that Tank Dell was a full
participant in practice since returning
so tank dell had his first official practice from returning
something else i want to talk about i wasn't able
to get it on my sheet today but tank dell is going
to go to london he's going to go to london he's going
to go overseas with the team and he will be
at that game we don't know if he's going to play we
are not sure 100% if he's going to play it's
great news hearing that he's going to be there
though because at the minimum they're like hey
let's get you there let's for sure going to know
that you're going to go and then we'll start to
decide as the week gets on as we get closer
if you're going to play we're right there though
it's Thursday already and we're talking about Tank Dell having
his first full practice and
possibly having his first international game
in London this is big for Tank Dell man this is big
for Tank Dell man like I said we're going to move very fast
and quickly we got another one man we
got another one Texans Jalen Pitre week to week
with shoulder injury no surgery needed this is
one of the big news today update
on Texans nickel Jalen Pitre left shoulder injury we know he was
having that left shoulder injury will not require surgery
or need to be placed on injury reserve
again I know I'm just a touch bit late to this news
but I want to go over everything over all
the injuries about the Houston Texans
so at the end we can say hey is this team still playoff
caliber this was a big one Jalen Pitre hurt
his shoulder a lot of people were saying hey
straight to injury reserve man straight
to injury reserve he goes it looks like he's going to have
shoulder injury or shoulder surgery excuse me
tongue twister there he didn't need it he didn't
need it and not only does he not need it it's
talking about it right here he's not going to
be placed on injury reserve that's a big one
when you talk about someone getting placed on injury
reserve you think dang hopefully in a few weeks hopefully
in four weeks time or whatever we will
see you no he's not going to be placed on injury reserve
is considered week to week again this is
another guy who I'm saying hey maybe it's
not 100% that we're going to play him this Sunday
but just knowing that he's not going
to have shoulder surgery it probably means he's done
for the season no he's not done for the season he's
not going on injury reserve he's week to week
over the next few days before traveling to London
so I think he will still be in London I'm not sure
but I don't think he's gonna be playing
but he still will be there supporting the team
obviously obviously great to see
that so Petrie something I want to talk about for his return
obviously at this point he is a seasoned vet
in the game last season he had one of the best seasons
of his pro football career obviously doesn't compare
to that 2022 season obviously I know that
but last season he had a great season
this season he was off to a pretty solid start but
faced that injury either way
when we get this guy back on the field it will be great all right like
I said guys like I said we're going
to be moving very fast paced today we're on to the next one
Texans linebacker Aziz Al-Shair misses practice
with growing injury expected to play versus the
Jaguars so we got this a few days ago actually I think we got
this around a week ago but we know
Aziz was struggling with the groin injury we weren't sure
if he was going to play this Sunday
internationally against the Jacksonville Jaguars
we're saying hey he's having a growing injury
that's one of those injuries that you can't necessarily rush
but it's also not necessarily
an injury that you expect someone to be gone
for for weeks at a time I get that Aziz so far
looking good didn't know if he was going
to travel internationally for this game against
the Jacksonville Jaguars we know we need him
in a big way we did get this though we did get this
Texans linebacker Aziz Al-Shaiy growing not practicing today
but look at the last part of
it guys this is from our good friend Aaron Wilson
you know he's always at those Texans practices
he's expected to play against
the Jacksonville Jaguars generational having Aziz playing again
is going to be big for us that defense they got
a boost of energy this past Sunday they were looking
good this past Sunday but you do it against
the Tennessee Titans so you're really wondering does
it really matter if it's against one of the worst teams
in the league? Either way, I think that win
gave them a huge boost of momentum.
You're doing that and now you're going into London. I'm going
to say a hot take right here. I think London is definitely,
it's become Jacksonville's home away
from home over the past few years.
They're always sending Jacksonville Jaguars to London. We know
they played there last week, obviously.
So I think if anything, it's going to be pro Jaguars, but
either way, having Aziz back on the field is going to be big.
All right, now on to the next one.
Houston Texans reported this very recently.
We have activated Braden Smith from injury reserve
and made other roster moves.
How are we feeling, you guys?
How are we feeling, Houston Texans fan?
Braden Smith is officially back from injury reserve.
Right before the season started,
when we were having joint practices with the Carolina Panthers,
Braden Smith got hurt.
He got hurt, and we said, hey,
we're probably not going to see him for a little bit.
Got placed on injury reserve.
We were hoping he would come back this past week.
Either way, it didn't seem like we really needed him.
Offense was rolling last week.
we're finally getting him back.
They've officially activated Braden Smith, and we need that in a big
way. I'm going to be real serious with you guys.
That offensive line, when I look at this team and
I say, hey, defense is finally starting to improve a little bit.
They're finally starting to get a
little bit of credit. We're starting to see these guys,
hey, Jalen Petrie isn't going to need season
ending shoulder surgery, or surgery in general.
Henry Toto should be coming back soon. Aziz is
for sure going to play this weekend, or expected to.
That offensive line is still trash. That
offensive line is still not good at all.
A lot of people were dogging on the Marvin Harrison trade
saying, hey, it doesn't matter if you trade
for Marvin Harrison Jr. when this offensive line is
terrible. That is why we signed Braden Smith.
That is why you give him that 20 plus million dollar
free agency contract. So that way he can do big plays.
And he's officially going to play. I think
he's going to play this weekend.
And we need that in a big way, man. This offensive line has been
putrid. David Montgomery
and Woody Marks have been having a terrible time behind the line
offensively this season.
And we saw, despite having a good win, we saw guys like Jeffrey
Simmons still have great games against
the Tennessee Titans because that offensive line
was still faltering I think having Braden Smith back
on the team is going to be big for them I
think he's going to replace Trent Brown I'm
not sure either way big for the Houston Texans to
finally get him back I think that's
also going to help Woody Marks we saw Woody Marks officially
have the best game of his season last week 62
rushing yards had himself a pretty solid game
I think that plus getting Braden Smith back
is definitely going to help the run game out a lot
more yeah man that is big now something i want
to talk about it's not injury related but i did
think it was very interesting polymarket reported
this today fans are speculating that texans wide
receiver marvin harrison jr isn't it
so great to hear that after all the speculations about no he's
not coming yes he is coming maybe it's
not us maybe it's las vegas finally hearing texans wide
receiver marvin harrison jr is showing more effort
and explosiveness in practice than he did in the
games for the Cardinals this season something I want
to point out I don't think it's the fact
that Marvin is because some people
are saying like oh he just didn't want to be in Arizona so
he wasn't trying so he could get traded I don't think
that that's the case at all I think Marvin
is a competitor what I think is going on is Marvin had
a rough time in Arizona this past season
the season before that he missed five games had
a bit of a dip from his rookie season
this season he had a real big struggle
the last time we saw him activated in Arizona for his last
game he had one catch and went for a touchdown
but one catch I think Marvin right now and this
photo was taken at practice him
and Keishawn Booty getting some routes going something I've noticed
from Marvin he knows he says hey I'm coming
into this league I was supposed to be a generational
wide receiver yet before my rookie contract season
was over I get traded now I'm on a team with a guy
who I know very well and CJ Stroud now I'm on a team with a guy
who's one of my good friends I'm
on the team with a great head coaching staff unlike I
was in Arizona there's no more excuses
I gotta show up and show out there's
no more excuses I think that's more like what's going
on with Marvin he knows that if he misses
this opportunity in Houston it might be bust for him
he might be seen as a bust hopefully we don't see
that I think it's going to be a great connection
so we're getting all these news we're getting
the news that Marvin Harrison Jr. is looking good at
practice Henry Turco is expected to come back soon we're
not sure on Tank Dell but he might be back
this weekend or he might be back next week Braden Smith
is officially back we should expect Jalen
Petry back he's week to week Houston Texans fans I'm going
to end the question with this
do these returns turn Houston
into a playoff team we keep talking about it hey is it still possible
0-4 start you turn around and finally get
a win you make a big trade for Marvin
now we're starting to see the injuries begin to play
in our favor in terms of getting players back
does this turn them into a playoff team I want
to know, tell me, do you guys think yes, do you guys
think no, or let's see how Sunday goes
because as much as some of us hate to say it, Jacksonville
Jaguars, they're still a competitive team, we saw it against
the Eagles last week, you can never count
them out, what was it, eight seconds left
and they were able to get in field goal range and kick that
field goal after the kick return, you can never count out Jacksonville
and especially in their
home away from home in the UK we know
that the NFL constantly sends them there, our good friend
Roger Goodell constantly sends them to the UK
that is their home away from home, is it still
possible, let me know what you guys think below, thank you guys
so much for watching today on
Texans Digest again, I'm back
to being consistent again, I'm balancing this amazing channel plus
being a senior in college, but I thank you guys regardless
for watching, have a great day, have a
blessed day. I'll see you guys tomorrow.
