The Broncos are being blasted for this and it's not just a one-person problem. It's an offense problem at this point and
Everyone's looking for someone to blame someone to point at someone to you know, really
Just say that it's all their fault and it really in the end. It is a multifaceted problem, which no one wants to hear
I know that I get that but we're gonna be talking about maybe
Percentage wise who's more to blame than others and why I'm kind of resenting
A lot of the discourse going on right now when it comes to Bo Nix, Davis Webb, Sean Payton
The offense, Cortland Sutton, the running game, the offensive line
There is a lot to break down. So make sure to subscribe join this channel if you like the
Analysis that's going on here. We have a long season ahead of us that we I mean everyone's panicking after our second loss of the season
We're 2-2. This has been we are in the middle of the
Gauntlet, this is probably one of the hardest stretches of football that I can remember in the last
While the Broncos thankfully are facing a struggling Chargers team in LA this week
They have to take advantage of that. They cannot drop a dud. They can't take it easy because oh
This is the easiest game when it comes to just the level of difficulty in the gauntlet
You cannot fall behind a two and three going into a primetime game against Seattle the defending champs
It's just you can't do it
so the pressure is on everyone's looking for answers as we know that there's you know, hard game after hard game and
Not not much room to breathe
so when we talk about all of this down below and
Make sure to you you talk about it down below share your thoughts on everything down here and without further ado
Let's just kind of jump right into this. So first things first
Everyone's wondering is this a Bo Nix problem? Maybe it could be and it partially is it happened
I mean listen
There's no doubt in my mind that we would not be winning as much if we did not have Bo Nix
He is he has the clutch gene. This has been proven over and over and over again
Even partially in the 49ers game. We started to come back. We made a three-point game with four minutes left
We just needed the defense to make a stop. They weren't able to
But you know, I've seen several other people say it's not fair for the defense to try and keep you in the game
While the offense tries to figure it out for two to three quarters and just like make it a manageable
Comeback that's not fair to ask every single game and I agree and they know it the offense knows it Sean Payton
Bo, they all know that they've been addressing it and we're gonna be talking about like why?
This has become such a big deal for a lot of people
and we'll be
again, why all the different factors to look at so
RJ Harvey's
67 catches is the most by a Broncos running back in team history for a player for a players first 20 career games
He overtook Terrell Davis in that aspect
And then you know that good sports from Brandon Prentice said that in every catch
He has breaks for tackles just to gain four yards
Like the offensive line isn't doing what they need to be doing for in terms of like the screens
there just seems to be miscommunication when it comes to like who's supposed to be where and how to set up the blocks how to
Set up a manageable check down
Listen credit to Harvey
He's his hands are as sturdy as almost a wide receivers maybe more so than Corlin Sutton's but he's not able to break too many
You know plays off into a big game because of just the predictability of Bo dumping it off to him the offensive
But urge people just not being there to block. It is an unfortunate situation there
This is something that Dan Orlovsky posted that you know
He posted a video where several plays throughout the game Bo had wide open receivers
Like like, you know clear areas where he should be, you know throwing to that would be like 15-20 yard gains
Because his O-line was actually performing really really well giving him good pockets and Bo is just not seeing the field for some reason
He's like just immediately checking it down to the flat
And when he you know should and then when he's like should be
Checking it down to the flat. He chucks it down deep when there's no one open. It's like his mind is like in a reverse
I know psychology thing for the game plan. It's like I like what we don't know
What's not computing everyone just keeps, you know, the haters will just say he sucks
That's just I just I blatantly untrue because he wouldn't be coming in through in the clutch as many times as he had if he just
Sucked it's but the game plan is not jiving with him for some reason and again, I guess I cannot stress enough
We've been facing hard teams that doesn't give us a pass. You know, you lose games you are you mean?
We've lost both games by multiple scores
but
You know
These are some people who are saying the best four teams in the league that we face in the first four weeks
with the Niners Jags Rams and Chiefs, so it's like I
It is a tough challenge
The Broncos have been in every game really besides the the Chiefs game, especially in the second half of that game
So it's uh, I just I just don't want people to overreact and that's you know, Ryan Cozier said the Bo Nicks will be fine
Guys, we don't have to overreact to every game every week
Is but that goes both ways we can't call Bo like one of the greatest quarterbacks in franchise history when he makes all these
You know amazing comebacks
But then like, you know defend him every time things don't go well like in the 49ers game
That was not a good game by Bo Nicks and he knows it too
I mean it that no one was trying to make excuses for him
But you know, it's kind of crazy back to the RJ Harvey thing despite missing week two
Broncos RJ Harvey still has more receptions than Jalen Waddle, Corlin Sutton, Pat Bryant, Evan Ingram, Troy Franklin and Marvin Mims
Mims has missed a lot of games to be fair, but he only has one catch
Franklin only has two which is insane
but yeah, like you just like
Bo's not you know
Getting away from the check down emergent stuff when this is a stat through the first month of the season
That you're running back has the most catches on the team easily even over your star new receiver Jalen Waddle
Andrew Mason, he posted this that where Sean Payton was asked about Bo Nicks his mechanics. He's
Quote Sean Payton said so I would say this because it's a position I've coached for I don't know how many years
There are times where you have to be careful for how much you say like in other words
He's really good when he flushes out of the pocket
I think that was one of the there was one snap a week ago where he came out of the back instead of climbing
Up in the pocket, but he's pretty good
So he's pretty good relative to understanding the drop as it pertains to depth of the route
There are some times where you know, kill gore and Davis Webb will look closely with a route and say hey
Maybe watch a hitch here
But yeah
I think he's got a good feel for things and understands the routes and all of that
Whether it's in the gun or under center what it should feel like and look like Bo has an understanding that so Sean is basically
understanding and
Defending his guy and I you know, he's been that way for a while now when he has his guy
He's gonna defend him to death, but I do believe Bo has championship quality
You know winning in his DNA. He is a winner
Similar to Jalen Hurts, but Jalen Hurts gets you know
Doggone a lot this this might just come with the territory guys that like we're gonna have to deal with a lot of like
You know Bo
Defending Bo like oh how much is being a winner?
Equate to like being able to perform on the field consistently
I think when you have good players around you and a good system and a good offensive coordinator
It really does come together and staying healthy
Obviously that's a lot to ask but at the same time that's typically how championship teams end up winning it in the all day that they
Were the luckiest
They you know got some good matchups usually in the playoffs
They are well coached. They have you know, great clutch genes
And they just don't get rattled and probably home field advantage through the playoffs. Those are all great factors
Bo was talking about was asked about whether there's frustration on the offense
He said the frustration just comes within the losses
Obviously, we want to have a really explosive offense and I think that will come
I do think that's interesting that he's like not worried about it as much of in terms of like whether it'll happen or not
Same thing with our star guard Quinn Mirna's said that the Broncos are a lot closer than the numbers would project
He said keep chopping wood and it will come so they all seem to have this
New mindset that this is something that's on its way that it's like there's gonna be an explosion of offense
And maybe it's just you know
Like Davis Webb has you know
A lot of different things to be accounting for and it'll all start clicking the more they get used to the play calling style
Sean Payton on Davis Webb as Broncos play caller
And they were asked of whether he'd consider a change he said it's too early to consider that but it's a fair question
I appreciate it. It's tough to discuss any of that right now
That sounds like a quote that of someone who is considering it
which is not great in my opinion because I
Remain a Davis Webb defender that this is something that is going to click the players believe in him
Sean believed in him in the moment and and it's just something that's it's this is a gauntlet that he's been going through
There wasn't really any warm-up. He is going up against really good defenses and
That just makes it frustrating this the Chargers will be the easiest defense we've faced so far
That doesn't mean that it's gonna be a cakewalk. We usually make it harder on ourselves
most of the time but I would like to see the Broncos have their breakout games sooner rather than later because
It's time to you know, dominate from start to finish. It's just you know
You're putting way too much pressure on this defense in Vance Joseph who I think have been doing a great job this season so far but
what we might have to do another video when it comes to like Nick Benito and whether Jonathan Cooper was like way more
Important to this team than expected
But uh, yeah, so when it comes to Sarah Benninger predominately orange
He said with the Broncos having Super Bowl aspirations
Sean Payton is going to be forced to make an extremely difficult decision under these types of circumstances
Taking back play-calling duties would feel like a major indictment on Davis Webb and a contradiction to Peyton's own belief that he could be a
Great offensive play color in the NFL or the Broncos offense has been horrendous so far this season and pretty much in every possible way
I disagree with that. I don't think it's been horrendous. I mean we scored a lot of points
Against the Rams. I don't think that's easy when they had Aaron Donald
you know the only games where the Rams have won is
Well, they won like this past week and they didn't have Donald or miles Garrett and the other game was against the Giants so
Anyway, anyway, and then the other game at the Rams lost was against the Niners. So
Could Sean temporarily play called maybe you know Benninger went on to say that that is once again a brutal position to be in
Demoting Webb early in the season would be a huge blow to his reputation in the coaching world and might be a path
Where there's really no going back
It would likely be the beginning of the end of Davis Webb's time in Denver and that could cause palpable friction between Peyton Webb
And the and Bo Nix even facing that reality Peyton as the head coach of the team
Simply can't ask Webb to carry the burden of responsibility when things aren't working
Not with this much with this much at stake
He might have to make a decision to take back the keys to the car and give them back to Webb
When there is more margin for error, that is an interesting proposition
I
Don't think it should happen. Some people I just think that's too messy, you know, like when do you decide the margin for error is back?
Obviously, we're we're still in the middle of the gauntlet. We're almost, you know, technically towards the end
You know once we get to the bye week
I really feel like
That would be an appropriate time to make a decision if he's for the rest of the season Sean's gonna be calling plays or Davis
Is gonna be calling plays
But guys remember last year the beginning of the season wasn't too great either
Offensively that there was a lot of growing pains throughout the year the offense started to click towards the end of the season a bit more
It feels like there's something similar going on here
The operation honestly is not the problem and you know
Dan Orlovsky said this is basically this might be a Bo Nix problem
Who's just not reading and seeing the field like he you know was doing a little bit better of last year
I mean those numbers aren't as good this year at all, which is crazy because he has Sutton
He has waddle he had Pat Bryant at least for all four of these weeks until the injury
The defense has been playing well, so there's not really an excuse besides maybe the injury for Bo's ankle, but Bo is denied
That it's really, you know bothering him
Lance Sanderson from Sports Illustrated said that to be honest though
One of the biggest reasons for the Broncos offensive ineptitude is the quarterback Bo Nix
It's difficult to nail down all the culprits of the notorious slow starts for this offense
But there were several missed opportunities to push the ball downfield as Knicks opted for check downs
Especially in the first half. He has to get better at letting plays develop and fully opening the play designs
There was a lot of meat left on the bone this week, particularly in the first half. I typically don't like
Pausing plays before it died because it dilutes
The context but I did so at the top of Knicks drops
To show that the pocket route concept and the windows where Knicks misses some explosive plays and
there are some just some some dangling evidence that uh
Just Bo like I showed in that previous picture that Orlowski was looking at that
It's just like there are guys there are windows that are clearly open. It would be easy throws for Knicks
He has a strong arm, but he's just it's just not going through his head. It's not registering
I mean, he's it seems like he's made up his mind before the play even started
Sanderson went on to say that again
Not everything is Knicks's fault
Poor execution from the offensive line drops from his receivers and even some sequencing from his play caller have hampered the offense as a whole
But the fact is Knicks touches the football on every play and the offense can only go as far as he can take it
Even when the adversity strikes there is some magic in Knicks's play
But the frustrating consistency issues continue to be a problem bottom line and Knicks has to be better plain and simple
And I this is this is partially why I just believe that
Taking away the play calling from Davis Webb would be a mistake
I do think that he's had a lot of his own problems to work through
We did beat a great Jaguars team, you know outplayed them in the second half easily
The Rams again just a complete second half
Domination or not domination, but just an explosion like and that's not like an accident like, you know
Bo and this offense is capable of performing but it seems like in the first half
This is a mentality thing that Sean has to work on Davis Webb has to work on
These play there are plays waiting to be made. There are guys that are open
it feels like
we might
You know
It just seems like Bo is going through his reads too quickly
He's not able to see the field that we want him to be able to maybe we need to get him in a simulator or something
But there just seems to be something that's not jiving well with him regarding just you know anticipating
open areas
trusting the play calls
There there seems to be something missing there and I don't want that to be the case
I trust you know that they'll get it figured out
But again, the competition has been fierce and not a lot of room to try things out and try it
Some people have also like, you know brought up the possibility that Bo is just really trying to avoid turnovers as much as possible
It's you know
especially in close games when the defense is keeping it close that he only
Lets it loose when things are starting to get out of hand a little bit or when they need a ramp up from him
Otherwise, he wants to play it safe and not put his team in bad situations
But that that sounds like it's a confidence issue that like he feels like if he lets loose too early that he could put him
You know throw a pick six by accident or fumble the ball or something. I just I don't like
That mentality that there's like this, you know, you you have to become desperate in order to believe in yourself
That's not a good way to
operate
Anything much less an NFL offense. So
The running game also isn't doing him any favors that that comes to the offensive line not being able to block as well
But you know the running backs there's just guys can't break tackles we we really need Jonah Coleman back
I felt like he was a guy who you know at the end of that Jags game really offered
I don't know just a boost to this team. So
There's a lot of different just you know factors here. Hopefully Coleman comes back soon
We're still waiting to see on whether or not Pat Bryant and ps2 are gonna be put on IR or not
Fingers crossed that they won't be but we'll find out
So, what do you guys think about all this shot in the comments down below your thoughts about Bo Nix Davis Webb?
Whether Sean Payton should or shouldn't I take that play calls and if he does when should it happen?
Or if at all like me, I think Davis Webb should just keep calling plays and just ride this out
So, let me know what you guys think down in the comments down below and until next video. I will see you then
