The 600HP Turtle Miata

Okay, I will. Today we are here in Florida, right, right there, right in the Orlando area. The drive down here wasn't too bad. It was long, but it wasn't terrible. Funny story actually, we almost got kicked out last night when we showed up here because the bus isn't registered as an RV, so some places don't like that. We convinced them to let us stay, but that was almost as scary. We didn't know convincing, we just told them. Yeah, we just told them what's what. That's what Audrey said. We're meeting up with Mr. Matt Man, who has an awesome 600 horsepower Beata. Do I need to say any more? First things first, we got to clean this car. It's been sitting on a trailer for a thousand miles. It doesn't look so hot. My clutch pedal is squeaking. I need to get some WD-40. Another thing I'm noticing about Florida is that it's causing my car to run a bit lean. At full throttle, it runs around 12.5 to 1, which is, it's relatively lean, so hopefully that doesn't cause any issues, but we're still gonna send it. This car wash only accepts $1 bills. I only have one $1 bill. Thankfully I found some quarters. Jeez, that is crazy. Have you dyno'd it with a new setup yet? I have not. Okay. So yeah, you just went through a new setup, right? You want to put it in there? I just did a motor refresh. Okay. Just brings... Same thing as it was before though? Yeah. Okay. The only difference is getting a stronger head stud. That makes sense. So right now we got the head studs on, so we can turn the boost up a little bit more. The craziest thing about this car is that it's still the 1.6. It's a factory 1.6 block. That's crazy. The last motor setup lasted for a couple of years, didn't it? It was running for about two years. 10 something, right? On a blown head gasket. Nine's coming soon. Changing the tire size and turning the boost up, it'll easily go 990. That's what the stock's going to hit. That's awesome. Hopefully towards the end of the year we're gonna put another set of cams in it. That's ridiculous. Transmission and diff, is that all stock or it's turbo 2 stuff? It is all stock. Damn. No turbo 2. The differential's welded, but other than that it's a stock gearbox. I have a MazdaTrix shifter, so it's got nice... What does the rev do? 87. Jeez. Wow. Putting rotaries to shame. Just because the up on this car though, the RPM range is super. Wow. Okay. But the good thing is it also helps with traction on the street because the power is so linear. Yeah, it feels very linear and awesome. It just keeps pulling and then eventually you're like... Woo, that's fast. Oh, so quiet. It drives so awesome, it looks so awesome, and it's so clean. At first it was a show car. Now I just got bored and I want a bunch of power. Yeah, that's good. It's got a Honda intake manifold from a B16. Okay. Edelbrock Victor X, spunk 2 throttle body, Fab 9 intercooler, custom intercooler piping, the 60-62 precision, custom exhaust, custom manifold. Oh, ow. So that was so crazy. Thank you so much to Matt for taking me on the ride. It's been a so cool. Anyway, we're going to go get tacos. Yeah. Woo, tacos. This is so cool. Absolute goals here. Look at this. Oh my God. I'm slouching. I just lost the race. My car feels like incredibly slow now. It's kind of sad, but at the same time, it's so awesome. Miata only parking right here. They told me this is something special. I don't know what's about to happen. We were sitting here eating some tacos and some random guy came by and asked if we wanted to buy this. For $30. 30 bucks. Yeah. What the heck? So one of our friends bought this thing for 30 bucks. It's a ZXR? 5XR? I don't know. I don't know what it is, but for 30 bucks? Hey, man. Yeah. Oh yeah. We had a cop come and make sure it was legit. It was legit. Oh yeah. By the way, it doesn't run. That's why they're doing that. Some random person on the street asked for a taco. Give him a taco. All we had to do is jump it and it's running fine now. 30 bucks for a scooter with 700 miles on it. What the heck? What the heck? Just kidding. Oh ----. He's going to try this time.
