Something HUGE is brewing... | Atlanta Hawks News

Now I see everyone in the comments you make fun of how we title our videos But I promise you this is something you want to stick around for I have two Atlanta Hawks that I have to Highlight and also give props to because they are not only putting Atlanta on the map But I feel as though it is time to give them their flowers But before we get into all of that, I want to go ahead and christen the show what's going on everybody My name is Walter Pollard. I mean, this is Atlanta Hawks digest Of course when you get all your news and your Hawks information and all that good jazz, you know I'm glad that you guys have stopped by to keep watching. We are down to the last what seven eight seven games left in the season I mean it is crunch time. And again, I want to point out to you guys I'm keeping my eye out for that number six spot. I've kind of had this love-hate relationship for it I just kind of forgot about it a little bit a while ago mainly because I felt as if It was Detroit's and it was Detroit's alone. Well, Detroit has now moved up to the number five position Milwaukee has fell down to the number six position and in my honest hopes I feel as though they continue to fall down into the play in tournament Thrusting the Atlanta Hawks up as well as we are one game ahead of The Orlando Magic show again doesn't necessarily get us out of the woods From what it looks like we're still in the Atlanta Hawks invitational But if we can do what we need to do starting tonight versus the trailblazers if the Atlanta Hawks can do what they need to Do I feel as though this would be a great time to see what we got going on Now I have to start off today with some big news Trey young has a brand new position and I think it's time for you guys to take a listen I'm excited to announce that I'm accepting a role with with OU basketball And being an assistant GM As well as making a million donation a million dollar donation to help kickstart this whole thing Wow so it's exciting to be a part of this and being from Norman and Playing there obviously This is exciting times and I'm looking forward to being in this new role This is pretty incredible a million dollar donation and taking on the role of assistant general manager here at your alma mater And this is coming trade just weeks after Steph Curry became the first Active player in major United States professional sports to take an administrative job at a college So you're joining a very very small and exclusive fraternity here. What made this the right time to get involved? Well, I think I think obviously today that the game has changed and within I yelled and College basketball the way it's changed it's it's I think it's a perfect time for for guys to be more involved with the schools that I mean help I mean make them who they were or help just kind of push them to be who they were I know for someone like Steph and me. I mean, I mean we represent our schools Off off the court in the locker rooms and talk trash all the time. So now To be able to represent even more It's gonna be even it's gonna be even more special Course now, of course, that was Trey young talking to NBA today He basically just said it all young will assist the Oklahoma Sooners evaluating high school players transfer players transfer portal guys He's going to be negotiating different contracts and I yell contracts for these different players and I find it to be interesting mainly because This is something that we have seen in the last couple of months. We see that trait natural young, but um Steph Curry has become Davidson's General manager for that university and now he will be doing the same Well, of course he started it and Trey young is just following along in those footsteps And I would not be surprised if we see more of that Going down the line seeing big-name players like for instance I would not be surprised if what I would to see Draymond Green as a assistant general manager or general manager for Michigan State you dig what I'm saying these schools now are in a situation where the NIL is getting bigger and bigger and bigger and There needs to be someone to advocate not only for the students But also for the university and manage what's being given to whom you know It's given to so I like this move by Trey young I think what Trey young actually donated a million dollars to the school. So that's another that's a big thing shout out the trade young for that and Yeah, this is this is big. This is really big. This is really good. I like the move and I'm pretty I'm in all full support of this now Dyson Daniels new deal you dig I let's start off by Doing this first. Okay. Let me go ahead and first show you guys Trey young basically advocating for Dyson Daniels Getting the defensive player award Defensive player of the year award because I'm gonna dive into that after we talk about Dyson Daniels new deal Yeah, I don't think I'm gonna play with a guy like my Dyson with the way you can get steals and just reads on the defensive End, I mean, he's he's a one-on-one type of I mean defender on ball defender So he's uh, he's definitely unique in a lot of ways So him setting the franchise record and steals in his first year with us It's not surprising after getting to know him being around him playing playing with him for this year I break his own record next year. So this is good. He's in the bar for himself hot right now Yes, Dyson Daniels. I mean is a complete unit the first year that he has been here breaks up a franchise record That is something that should be highlighted and should be spoken about a lot more Around the league, but yeah, Dyson Daniels is definitely done his just do you know what I mean? But major shout out to Dyson Daniels Okay, this young man has signed a four-year endorsement deal with Adidas now no Amount of money or whatnot has been I guess said or whatnot. I don't know any information as far as how much money it is But I feel as though this is big for Dyson Daniels that I've been Chambering it from the rooftops. This guy needs to be the defensive player of the year And you see how I played earlier that Trey young basically said something about Dyson Daniels You know being that guy and doing what he's been doing and I feel as though it's time for me to talk about this Cuz it's starting to piss me off. Okay Why in the holy heaven is Dyson Daniels number three in the odds for defensive player of the year as a matter of fact, why is Draymond green ahead of Evan Mobley and Dyson Daniels as far as defensive player of the year and I remember prior to the Atlanta Hawks playing that playing the What was it the go to state warriors? Of course, this was when my Draymond and I dream of when Steph Curry was not playing and Draymond was there We're not he had kind of looked at it and had this little snarky Tom I just didn't like his tone, you know, he was talking about. Oh, he got all those deals. That's good or whatnot. I Just don't get it. What is it going to take? To get this young man defensive player of the year. He has a franchise record in Defensive like in defensive steals. I think he has In a crazy amount of stocks meaning steals and blocks together. He has an enormous amount I mean it trumps all of these guys on this list and but for some reason Some reason Dyson Daniels is number three. I need for you guys to explain to me like I'm four years old Why is Dyson Daniels? Again number three on this list as far as a player eyes to become the defensive player of you Please explain to me like I am a kid because I do not understand it I've spoken to somebody about it once before they said is it's historically been a Big man award power forward center award The only other guy that was a guard that one it was Marcus smart a few years back When he was with the Celtics and then prior to that it goes far. It goes as far back as Michael Jordan so those are the only two guards that I can even think of that has done that but since then again this guy has a Franchise record. He has been doing it now again. I will say I feel as though the media is starting to Get hip to this guy. I mean he was on the postgame show last night Talking with Maya Moore Vince Carter and in and crew so it was definitely cool to see them Talk to Dyson Daniels talk to him about his deal talk to him about how he plays the game so the national media is starting to get some type of recognition on this young man, but When we go back to the player odds dad gum it I don't it does and I'm trying my hardest not to cuss because it just doesn't make any sense I that's the one thing I I like to try to break things down to his most common denominator And this does not make sense. I'll give you guys another I'm gonna get these out of here real quick. Yeah, it just doesn't make any sense to me and I do not appreciate You know this aspect of how things are going I just don't appreciate how the media now I wouldn't say the media but just how in general everyone else is looking at Dyson Daniels in this because he is I Feel like he should be The defensive player the I don't see Draymond Green I Just don't see him. Please explain. I'm asking all of you in the comments. Definitely Please explain to me why you feel as though or explain to me why Dyson Daniels just doesn't deserve it But I'm just moving forward really quickly tonight's matchup versus the Portland Trailblazers I mean just being just putting it simply I wouldn't say that this is an evenly matched game But the Trailblazers there are no slouch. Okay, 32 and 43 Though they are on the bottom end of the Western Conference. There's still a team that could beat us Unfortunately, the last time we played them we actually lost to the Trailblazers. I want to say 114 and 111 Something like that. So again This is something that we definitely need Of course, the injury list is still long filled with names like Larry Nance jr Who's out for the season now? Kobe Buff can who's out for the season Clint Capella keep Wallace Jalen Johnson So yes, this list is extensive but looking on the brighter side of things the Trailblazers They're averaging about a hundred and twelve points while they're giving up about a hundred and fourteen points And then on the flip side you check out the Atlanta Hawks And I want to say yeah, the Atlanta Hawks. They are averaging Well, let's say this they're shooting about 47% from the field you dig I'm saying it's about a few like the half a point lower You dig and I'm saying dinner up then before when they played them But again, this is a game that the Atlanta Hawks definitely need especially if they want to find a way to the number six seed Again, I'm holding out as much hope until the the season is just over with completely But again tonight is the night that the Atlanta Hawks get on the road and they get started and they try to make it just Continue to make a push again, Milwaukee, I think They have some issues. They got some things that they need to need to deal with but it's definitely good that the Atlanta Hawks are On the move tonight, but with all that being said, I'm gonna relax I'm gonna take a breather go drink some water or something with some tea and calm down But please again, let me know in the comments and explain it to me. Like I am four years old. Why in the holy heaven? Is Draymond green ahead of Dyson Daniels in this year's defensive player of the year award because it just doesn't make sense Yeah, like I said without that being said, my name is Walter Pollard. This is Atlanta Hawks digest You know what? I is man. I'm signing out. Peace
