Video Summary
AI GeneratedThe Denver Nuggets are looking toward a potential breakout season from Julian Strother to bolster their bench and alleviate the immense pressure on Nikola Jokic. While the starting lineup remains strong, the team's championship aspirations depend on Strother's ability to provide consistent ball-handling, scoring, and improved defense.
This is perfect for the Denver Nuggets as a major player leap is incoming and Denver Nuggets head
coach David Adleman is going to have his hand forced into playing multiple players who he has
been a little bit hesitant to play over the years as head coach but we also have an update on Nikola
Jokic as well that is something that you really want to hear out of your best player especially
when so much falls on Jokic every year and this year there is a very good argument that he has
more pressure on him than ever and more of a workload on him than ever before to carry this
Denver Nuggets team to success and guys we're going to jump right into the video as usual
make sure to go ahead and subscribe to Nuggets Digest for all your Denver Nuggets news reports
updates and everything else under the sun. 70% of viewers are currently unsubscribed and it is
completely free to do but jumping into the video there is a lot to go over on the Nuggets right
now because where things stand there's been a lot of questions surrounding this Denver Nuggets bench
and just the unit as a whole I mean look the starting five if Christian Brown is able to be
healthy find his confidence and hit his shots again and play good defense it's a great starting
five Jamal Murray and Jokic are both all-star players Aaron Gordon's an excellent piece
while Cameron Johnson and Christian Brown both play important roles it's honestly not that
unsimilar from what the NBA champion New York Knicks have then we look at a bench that's headlined
by DeMar DeRozan, Marvin Bagley, Julian Strother and honestly that's one of the names that I want
to talk about look I've talked about how I like the Bagley signing I've talked about how DeMar DeRozan
kind of changes this team in a whole lot of ways but there is one man who everyone is forgetting
who's getting ready for a major leap that man is Julian Strother and the Denver Nuggets need him
to make a big leap this is not something that'll make the team better for the Nuggets to be true
contenders they need Julian Strother to do what he does best be a great ball handler for the team be
able to go out there and overall add everything that he typically can add to an NBA championship
contender because he's a great ball handler he's a really talented player and frankly he's the type
of guy that if he makes that leap it changes everything about the Nuggets bench because not
only can he handle the ball but he can score from three levels he gives the Nuggets a good
on-ball player and when you also still have DeMar DeRozan around there with Jokic and Murray
it does really change the way we look at the Denver Nuggets a Denver Nuggets team that truly
believes they can still win this upcoming NBA finals and turn everything around before things
feel like they are going to fall kind of by the wayside and we're gonna have to look at major
changes and guys I still do believe in the Nuggets which is why I'm thrilled to thank

where only four percent of traders on Calshi are buying yes on the Nuggets to win the 2027
championship meaning if you trade $25 on the Nuggets you have a great chance to make
$585 and guys if you're interested in trying out Calshi use the link in the description

taking a look at where the Nuggets are and taking a look at where this team wants to be
it does all or a lot fall on Nikoli Jokic we know that it's always going to be Jokic's world that
we're living in none of that is ever going to change from what it has been which has mainly
been Jokic's world even in 2023 the main reason the Nuggets won I mean they had a good bench
Cowboy Bruce was excellent Jeff Green was great they had good pieces around the team
Jamal Murray was obviously on a generational run MPJ he did great Aaron Gordon was of course great
KCP was awesome Christian Brown played well off the bench but it does still fall on Jokic
but they need more of a bench as well and straw there's the difference maker here as
Sports Illustrated said right here even we look at Sports Illustrated say that there is one Nuggets
player set with four odds with the most improved player that are less than plus 50,000 and that's
fourth-year wing Julian Strother who sits at plus 15,000 odds to be crowned as for the favorite to
come home with the most improved player only three players are better than the plus 1.5
thousand because it's an impossible award to really predict in a lot of what a reward
picking a lot of ways Brandon Miller is the favorite as it's now his world in Charlotte
between him and Conor Knipple San Antonio Spurs guard Dylan Harper and Boston Celtics guard Peyton
Richard but Strother he's got a better chance than people think because look is he going to be
the sixth man of this team no I mean and look maybe I'm wrong but I am pick I'm really picking
the bar to come off the bench I think it just makes more sense for the team because it's a
better fit all around you kind of get the ball right here with DeMar coming off the bench and
on top of that we do get to see the Jamal I mean he will get more pressure taken off of him once
DeMar and Strother come on the court because there's another ball handler DeMar I mean he'll come on
probably at points where he'll probably go in with Marvin Bagley and Julian Strother can go in and
honestly play some backup point guard duties especially if DeMar or Nicola Jokic are on the
floor Strother can absolutely bring the ball up he has that talent it's one of the things in his
bag I mean CT Fazio 24 says right here Strother only logged 18 total minutes in the 2026 playoffs
after helping the Nuggets to play in a game seven last year against the champion Oklahoma City
Thunder last playoff so look it's obvious Strother needs more minutes there's no doubt about that
with with this bench DeMar is going to be helpful Bagley's going to do his thing Spencer Jones
hopefully keeps it up now that he's on a six million dollar per year contract Julian Strother's
got to perform he's got to perform there's no way around that he has to and I think he will
he can handle the ball he can hit the three he can slash the one thing we've been waiting on with
Julian Strother is the defense why is the defense not better for Strother this is a man who usually
has shown every tool possible to be a good defender smart player he is athletic honestly
all it takes from this point on is to just completely keep working and I think it comes
with minutes as well his defensive numbers aren't good but he's never gotten court consistency
outside of the year that the Nuggets lost in seven to the Thunder one of the reasons is because Aaron
Gordon was injured as well so I think where things stand for the Nuggets right now it is totally
totally important that they don't just rely on DeMar DeRozan and Marvin Bagley to hold down the
fort they need another explosion of a younger guy and Strother coming into a season where this
really really matters I think it is the perfect time for him to go out there and for him to
completely and utterly ball out especially when there's so much pressure on Nikola Jokic as it is
with Jokic even saying this I want to play every game I played one season of 82 games maybe it
shouldn't be like that maybe you need to rest a little but I think that when you're in a certain
rhythm the game comes to you normally and in a way when even you enjoy it even when I was injured
when I was absent from the field for a long time for the first time I was nervous I can say that I
was really nervous maybe for the first time in my life and that reflected in his game he wasn't the
same way he wasn't hitting his shots partially because he was injured but at the same time
Jokic can't do it all himself as much as he says he wants to it's not a recipe for success what is
a recipe for success utilizing the bench and if David Adelman's not going to utilize the bench
with high potential guys like Strother and Jones while also using your definitive
options like Bagley and DeRozan well then Adelman's got to go I'm curious what you
guys think though let me know in the comments down below like this video
