Henry from \"Mowers and Blowers\" visits his friend Nick to collect a free lawn tractor carcass and two blown engines for parts. After acquiring the equipment and a vintage helmet, Henry also visits his neighbor Dan to help clear fallen tree limbs and collect free firewood using his Cub Cadet and an old trailer.
Hey guys, how you doing? It's Henry at Motion Blows!
Welcome to another episode. Today I'm on my way to my buddy Nick Trump-Delfort's house.
He's got a more modern craftsman-like lawn tractor, but it's a carcass. No deck, no engine,
no seat, and he has a couple of blown engines. Both those blown engines have blown connecting rods.
He was gonna throw them out, and while I don't really have any extra connecting rods to build
those two engines, good synchro balancers, good flywheels, good heads, they're worth money,
and also I could use a particular sump cover that has the half-moon kind that holds the
synchro balancer. So I'm just gonna go get them for parts, maybe put an engine on that and
eventually get a deck. I don't know, but he's gonna scrap them, so I'm gonna go get them.
And it's a nice day, and the Bobster came with me. Right, Bobster? He loves car rides, can't you tell?
All right, I'm at Nick's house. Of course, I had to take Boba out, sniff around Nick's yard, and
drop a couple of Boba brownies on his lawn, huh? How about that? This is Nick's recent creation,
and so he's giving me this. This is probably the newest carcass of crap that he's giving me.
Look at that. Look at that. Look at that hood. That's a T1600 hood.
That might be the best hood he's ever given me. Give zero free. Free. Free. Free. That's right,
free. Nick's giving me this helmet too. It's just his boyfriend. Yeah, but it don't fit my head.
Well, I'm gonna have to figure out. It's like a snowmobile helmet. I could take
that and go skiing with it. I don't know, it's kind of heavy.
I hope he doesn't have lice. No, only lice. People like Boba on the channel. Of course.
How can you not like Boba, right? A little doggie. Who doesn't like a little doggie?
Holy ----. Nah, too tight for you too? Oh, the ears. To the moon, Alice.
I've never seen you without glasses on.
Kind of like a football helmet. You never get it across your ears. Thanks, Nick. I shoved that
thing on my head once. I'm like, nah. He used to wear it like riding the quad or something,
but I put it up for 40 bucks. I tried to give it to my friend that snowmobiles. He goes,
those things only go for five years. What? Is it for the rating? Oh, you mean the plastic?
So it was made in 2000. It was made in 2000. So he's like, it's 25 years old. I don't want to
sell it to someone who's going to crack their head open. It's kind of cool. It's cool, right?
Yeah, look at that, like Iron Man. Yeah, you can paint it. All right, cool, thanks.
Do not care Paul. Do you want me to follow you with the camera?
Nick is the camera man.
See, look, I'm not going anywhere. All right, I'm still here.
All right, you want a refund? I want a refund, Nick, for all the free ---- you gave me.
Yeah, tired of getting your free ---- and selling it for $1,400.
Six wheeler I got $1,400 for, front and back, both from Nick. Damn, this one you're going to make
$5,000. So you never get a point of view of you actually doing it. Well, I guess you do, right?
I'm saying you never get this point of view because...
Hey, look at you.
So since I don't have a mailbox, I think Bobo's barking at his mailbox.
All right, here we go. Here we go. Here we go.
What a great idea, Nick. Yeah, leave the hook on.
You're giving out extra special brains. You need to be the one that...
So thanks again to Nick for giving me yet another tractor.
Has a bone motor in it and no seat. And the guy had taken the deck and the hangers and the
engagement handle and the height handle. And the guy blew a tranny.
Took me about five seconds to get that one. Blew a tranny, huh?
All right, I'm ready to go back now. Bobo's in the car
and I've got a couple of engines in there here. See you guys when I get home.
All right, so here's the carcass. No seat, no deck height adjusters, no PTO lever,
no battery, no deck, no hangers on the bottom. I guess whoever had this used this to fix another
one that had bad hangers or something because the whole mowing feature and its accompaniments
are gone-ski. The only good thing this thing has is tires that hold air,
which is a big deal already. Worth going to get it. And this hood, which appears to be an
excellent condition. This is the T1600 hood. It's nice. As you can see, Nick took the engine.
That's what he buys them for. He buys cheap tractors with good engines, takes the engine.
Ooh, gas tank with half a tank of gas. Scores! Pretty good body other than this part here.
Nick says the transmission's good, so it's good transmission, good body, good hood, good wheels.
But this would be a perfect candidate for a go-kart, or a mud mower, or a speedster.
It's got a key, and this has the variable drive. It's got three different belts just
to control the drive, depending on if he has change belts. Oh, it still says 247
on the model number. I can't tell what year. 2007? It's not a 2017. Could be. You experts out there,
decipher that serial number. Never mind. Bottom left, date of manufacture,
March 2014. I've never got one newer than 2014. So anyway, not much to tell you about this.
I'm just going to roll this into my backyard until I either come up with another MTD that
has exactly the same type of shifting transmission deck system and all that,
and I'll put it on this one because this is a, you know, it's red. Resale red.
Keep it for the hood, wheels, whatever, parts machine, gas. Nick also gave me two blown engines.
He kind of cannibalized some. Son of a bitch! Oh, who put that crowbar there?
That's going to leave a mark. So he took the flywheel, part of the valve covers and inside
of the head, rocker arms, all that. Took the head out of this one. Still has a flywheel there. One
of them has a motor, starter motor. I'm interested in the sump covers. I have a couple engines
somewhere that's partially built and I need sump covers for it. So maybe these two will come in
handy someday when I decide to put another engine together. Old carburetor too. So that's it. You
know, just spare parts is all. But yeah, when he said he was going to give me this, I said,
ooh, look at that hood. Nobody's ever given me a modern hood for free before. So thanks, Nick.
I'll roll this into the backyard and I don't know what I'm going to do with it.
I am in my neighbor's yard. He had a huge tree limb fall on his yard in the back and he's
cutting up some firewood. And who needs firewood? Me! So you guys remember Dan.
We went with him to go get a tractor, that tractor. He used it a bunch. And then there
was a battery issue, whatever. And then he got a new battery. Now it doesn't start.
And he doesn't care. So if he's not going to care, I'm not going to care.
So this is my old trailer. You guys remember it? Anyway, we're going to attach this trailer
onto my cub cadet. And that's a problem. I don't have a ball hitch, see?
We're going to have to figure something out. Anyway, we're going to take some wood and put
it in his trailer. And then I was going to take it home. And at the same time, he gets rid of the
wood. So it's a benefit for both of us. But now I have to figure out how to put the trailer onto
this. Maybe we just drill a bigger hole. That's what she said. This is Boba's friend, Gus. He's
about the same age as Boba. When Boba was a baby and he was a baby, they met around the neighborhood
and they're both about the same age. Unfortunately, Gus needs hip surgery.
Anyway, I brought my badger chainsaw to show Dan how nice it cuts logs instead of gas.
That's a decent size here. That's big. Can you imagine if this thing fell on somebody's house?
Tremendous. I'm trying to figure out where it came from. From there? No, it's too close to this. Aha!
Look at that, baby. Good size yard, huh? Actually, Dan needs this. 46 inch wide deck.
From the core. Put your finger in there, Henry. Do I have to? Yep. Oh my God.
Socks are for pussies. Overdoing it. It requires just a little bit more. Yeah,
but I think it'd be better if I came from up here. Oh, well, how are we going to do that? Can't do
that. Dan, the man with the tools. Oh, you're almost there, bro. Just a little bit more.
You had to work hard with me coming over, huh? You're doing all the work. Hey,
there you go. I wouldn't call this hard work. Fantastic.
So there we go. This is two trips to Dan's house. That's enough wood for two seasons.
Of course, it would need to sit for about a season for it to dry. It's really wet,
so it'd be really difficult to split. I don't know. I need a log splitter or something,
because that's a lot. My old trailer did great. I kind of miss it now, but honestly,
today is the most I've ever used this trailer before. It's not even mine anymore.
I got to tell you, this Cub Cadet, it worked great. Not a hiccup. It's a workhorse, man.
Really did a great job. I'm very impressed with it. That's it. Short episode today. Just picking
up this carcass. I'll figure out what to do with it. It's got two engine blocks. I'll figure out
what to do with it. Just another day in paradise living the dream. Hope you guys enjoyed the video
anyway. Remember to like, share, and subscribe, so I can continue to bring you, where do I get
this ---- from for free? Mostly, Nick from Bellport. Have a great day. We'll see you guys
next time on Mowers and Blowers. It's not bad. It's not good, but it's not bad. It's free.
See you guys next time on Mowers and Blowers.
