Bruins give MULTIPLE last minute updates ahead of Game 1...
Sep 30, 2026
We're going to be breaking that all down as well as going over a few quotes from Marco Sturm about his thoughts on this team heading into the season.
But folks, it is time. The NHL regular season is officially upon us and if you want to stay up to date with everything going on with this Boston Bruins team, be sure to drop us a sub here on the channel.
We have a lot of super exciting stuff coming this season. You will not want to miss it. We're going to have it all right here on the channel as it happens.
But I want to get straight into this video because there are a few things that we have to look at regarding the lineup for tonight's game and this is one thing to keep an eye on.
You see this here from Steve Conroy. Everything looks the same for the Bruins. Brunette and Acemont appear to be scratches and with that, we can conclude that this is going to be the look for our opening night lineup.
Pretty good on the forward side but when the defense is where it gets a bit sketchy.
Now a lot of people were wondering why Frederick Brunette was not in the lineup to start things off here.
But it's the first game of this season. You want to get some players who have some experience under their belt first. Get things going before you roll to make a few changes.
Although this is what we're looking at in game one, this is not necessarily what we're going to be looking at in game two.
The way the lineup looks right now, I'm very fine with it. I think this is a good looking offense.
Of course, you're going to see Matt Fletcher in here eventually when he does return healthy. A few other names that we're going to touch on here in just a moment.
Before we do though, folks, we have a word from the sponsor of this video, Anson Belt & Buckle.
You know what ruins a great outfit really fast? An old beat-up belt that doesn't fit right.
Most guys are still wearing the belt. Stretched out holes that either pin to your waist or snag and just throw off your whole look.
That's why I'm excited to have Anson Belt & Buckle as the sponsor of today's video.
Instead of poles, Anson uses the micro-adjustable track system with quarter-inch increments so your belt fits perfectly every single time.
Once you experience that kind of fit and comfort, trust me, you will never want to wear a regular belt again.
I've been wearing mine non-stop and honestly, it's the best I've ever owned.
Once you try it, trust me, you'll never go back to old belts.
If you're wondering why you should trust them, this company that has a proudly family-owned and operated has earned over 40,000 5-star reviews with a lifetime guarantee.
They stand behind every product they make and once you get one, you will see why.

Thank you again to Anson for sponsoring this video.
Now, obviously looking at tonight's lineup, the one you see on the bottom here, the starting lineup as well,
it's going to be interesting to see where they go from here because this is game one.
But I think there's a very busy part of the schedule that we're going to see.
And of course, tonight is the only game we're going to see in September.
And we look at the upcoming games right here for October.
You go right to Winnipeg, Minnesota, Ottawa, Utah, Philadelphia, San Jose, Anaheim, LA.
You're getting a very big West Coast trip to start it and a bunch of West Coast teams.
And I think it's going to be good for the Bruins, you know, to start the season obviously.
But you're going to get a really good look against some good teams about how this lineup will fare.
Because it's going to be an important season, not just in, you know, the Atlantic, but the entire NHL for the Bruins this year.
Because of how good the Atlantic division actually is now, you really can't afford to go down early.
And that may cause the Bruins to make some pretty early changes.
And there's a few names that have been already thrown into the mix for that that we've seen.
Borderline, you know, being able to make this team probably could have had there been some different scenarios.
And if you look at this right here from Mark Diver surrounding Providence Bruins practice just yesterday,
Lochmelis is centering Hallinan and Reichel.
That's going to be pretty interesting because we've seen Dance Lochmelis going to be set for that first line centerman.
From what we see, of course, you know, that's what it's looking like right now.
If it's the first line, still yet to be determined.
But with Lucas Reichel there as well, he is someone that now under this team, we saw a little bit of a spark of it last year,
is going to be an opportunity player for this team when it comes to not just injuries, but a performance change.
If you want speed, if you want puck control, if you want playmaking, Lucas Reichel can bring that to you.
And having Dance Lochmelis on his line, someone that, you know, just wants a bit of time in the AHL first before cracking an NHL roster.
These guys, as well as Matt Poitras when he does come off the IL, are going to be three players that are going to be
certainly thrown very much into the mix for an actual lineup spot.
Even though we're looking at already a pretty busy offense right now with this team.
But I think when we do actually go ahead and look at it right here, if we're looking at someone like Frazier Mitton,
Pawel Zaka, those two are certainly going to stay here.
Elias Lindholm, there's a lot of people talking about him, what's the plan, you know, is he going to be traded?
We saw the thoughts from Don Sweeney a couple days ago on him.
And although the center depth is very, very deep, I think that at this point right now where the Bruins are
and how this season has already kind of been set up throughout the preseason and offseason,
you're going to have to get whatever offense you can.
And you're really going to have to put a heavy focus on that to just be able to win games and control games.
That's a very big difference from this year to last year.
And on top of that right now, I really think there's no worry for the offense at all just yet.
It's a very good look.
And I think there's still a few things you may be able to change around, like throwing Geeky on the first line.
Excited to see Paterka there, but maybe just be a better fit with some different players.
So that's something we're going to see over the next couple of games.
But where things get a little bit more kind of nervy is on the defense.
And we're looking at a defense for an NHL lineup and a 100-point team from last season.
In the Atlantic this year, the defense needs to be better.
And there's a few extra defensemen that can have a chance.
I think Connor Clifton, a lot of NHL experience, of course, he's going to be someone that once again,
I think that's what they want first before they throw Frederick Burnett in there and things like that.
But if we're looking at the extra defensemen here on this team right now,
I have an asterisk next to Charlie McIlwood because he is suspended, so he can't play for six games.
But Yoki, how are you?
He's in the AHL.
Whether he comes up to the NHL, gets traded, to be determined.
Frederick Burnett is here.
Jordan Harris is in the AHL as well.
There's a lot of options they can use on defense.
And whether Mason Lowry's name still remains in the trade market,
you know, I think they certainly are going to be trying to find something.
I don't know if the Bruins want to keep him or not.
We still don't actually have a solid answer.
But if it's going back to how they have been all last season and this summer,
there's a very good chance we could see a Mason Lowry trade if they get the right deal.
But they have no worry on defense either.
When it gets healthy, when they actually figure out who's playing best, it's going to be in a good spot.
So while looking at, you know, the lineup for tonight's game,
it's really going to be just a lot of experimenting if things do not work out over the next couple of games to see.
How they can get to that win column and get things going.
But before we do clue this one up, I want to go over this quote from Marco Sturm surrounding his third year,
excuse me, second year as a coach.
I have the best job, I think, in Boston.
I am not kidding.
I know it can be very stressful, but I love what I do here.
And I can't be more excited to head into my second season as a Boston Bruin.
I know there's a high expectation for me too.
We all want to get better every day.
Being around more in Boston over the summer and hearing the feedback from people who live here,
the fans, is something I will never forget too.
That drives me actually more and more in my second year
because I'm not just doing it for the organization.
I also want to do it for our fans, for the people here in Boston.
So, now we can say a lot about the team, but another big part of this is going to be Marco Sturm.
See how he adjusts to a different lineup from last year.
And also see how we can, once again, kind of go about developing a lot of these younger guys
as he did in Ontario with the LA firm system.
So, let's hope that translates to this team as well.
And there's going to be a lot of young names that are going to be appearing all season long.
So, folks, if you want to stay up to date with all of your Boston Bruins news,
be sure to drop us a sub here on the channel.
