Hey Bestie, can I ask you a question?
Eh, Carl, what's up?
Even though transgender people make up 0.6% of the U.S. population,
America's obsessed with making them a foundational platform for political issues.
Yeah, trans people are the main character for sure.
Now, I just learned a ton about women's health and history from Cheryl.
Slay.
But there's a lot of hubbub about trans people's ability to use bathrooms.
According to a 2016 survey by the National Center for Transgender Equality,
60% of transgender Americans have avoided using public restrooms.
I don't know how to feel about this issue.
I mean, on one hand, I shouldn't care at all about people peeing.
That's just weird.
On the other hand, I am afraid of people taking advantage of this and attacking women.
So you're afraid of men.
What?
You're not afraid of transgender people going into bathrooms.
You're afraid of a man dressing up as a trans woman to attack people in a bathroom.
The call is coming from inside of the house.
Jodi L. Harmon, a public policy scholar at the Williams Institute,
was a part of a study that found that transgender people are frequently
Oh my god, eh?
Title II of the Civil Rights Act protects access to public accommodations,
like hotels and restaurants, on the basis of race, color, religion, or national origin.
And yet, we have no federal law that protects people's right to access public spaces
on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
That's stupid.
Totally stupid, Carl.
Plus, let's really think about it, okay?
Let's analyze this fear.
Let's say you're a man who wants to dress up as a woman to attack people in the bathroom.
Ew.
What would your first step be?
I guess...
I guess I'd have to get women's clothes.
Okay, slay.
Then what, Carl?
Oh god, okay.
After I have a sick fit, then I guess I'd have to buy makeup.
Man, I have no idea where to start with that.
You're giving deep winter.
Okay, then I'd have to figure out how to actually put the makeup on.
I'd have to buy a wig, of course.
Hair theory myself.
And after you shave your sweet little hard-earned mustache and curl your curtain bangs, Carl,
what do you do next?
I would have to go into a public restroom and I'd have to wait to attack someone.
However, maybe a girly would come up to me and tell me that my outfit's really nice and
my makeup looks really good and I'd feel a warming in my heart as I get the validation
that I've never had my whole life as a man.
Let me ask you this, Carl.
Would you do all that work, spend money on a sick fit, learn how to apply your fire makeup,
or would you just walk into a restroom to attack people?
Would you see the sign for women and go,
Oh no, I'm not allowed in here.
I guess I can't assault anyone today.
I was gonna do something illegal and immoral, but this here sign, it hasn't stopped me.
Yeah, I guess if I were a fiend who was gonna attack people in a bathroom,
I don't know if I'd put a lot of effort into the pre-production of being said fiend.
Look, we have other things to worry about, Carl.
Like how the new tariffs are imposing nearly $80 billion worth of taxes on Americans,
one of the largest tax increases in decades.
Oh my god, it's inflation.
Inflation is right, Carl.
We have another four years of relentlessly defending democracy.
We can't be distracted by where people pee.
That's ludicrosity.
I don't, yeah, I don't care about where people pee.
I don't, I don't actually give a shit where people pee.
It makes no sense.
That doesn't affect me.
I'm gonna stall.
Why would I care where you pee?
I'm gonna stall peeing.
As long as you don't pee on the toilet seat.
It's not me.
100% of transgender people who are peeing on the toilet seat and leaving it that way,
that would be a political issue.
That would be a social crisis.
But they're not.
They're not.
You know who's doing that?
I don't know.
Is it you doing that?
Stop doing that.
How come every time I walk into a public restroom, there's pee on the seat?
What is that?
Because I'm not a monster.
