I'm Enron St. Brown, and you're watching
Lions Game Day Live on Fox 2 Detroit.
Well, one thing is a constant for the Lions
is that Jared Goff has played really good football
and blocking like a madman.
He's pretty proud of that, too.
Last weekend, too.
We were trying to give him credit for one.
He said, no.
Scrimped down the field on the 30-yard run.
We've got to work on this technique.
We got to work on the technique.
I just told him, don't go with the right shoulder.
Don't go with the right shoulder.
That's the moneymaker.
That's the moneymaker.
You've got to let that thing go.
But he talked about the Dolphins this week.
And one thing is, look.
The record's 1-6, but if you look at their last four games,
they're all one-score games, including a win over the Jets,
so these guys are starting to figure it out a little bit.
I think what you notice is they do play very hard,
and I think over the last...
Three or four weeks they've gotten tremendously better and you can see
the improvement that typically happens with a young team like they have
and I think they have a lot of great players over there. I really do.
I think they're getting better and improving and they're a young team
but they're hungry and remind me a lot of us in the past years here
when we were that way and we got to come ready to go.
It brings us to our quarterback comparison, John Neo.
You've got brought to you by Wallside Windows, Goff Willis.
Go.
Jared Goff finally threw an interception,
and he joked with us this week.
He's kind of happy about
that because we'll stop asking about the streak.
But, no, like this offense, the pass offense,
is really humming right now.
And after surviving the Vikings blitz machine last week,
they're going to face what you said.
Go.
The worst pass defense in the league right here in Miami.
Thank you.
Thank you.
It's as much as they leaned on the run last week
and probably will try to today.
They can also lean on the pass and the explosives like
we talked about earlier today against this pass defense.
Malik Willis on the other side,
he's the only big free agent splash Miami made.
It hasn't gone well.
But that's not surprising to me
because his receivers are a bunch of rookies and Malik Washington.
His offensive line is young and growing.
This team is spending more on players
that don't play for them right now,
$180 million, than they are on the actual
$100 million they're spending on the roster.
They've ripped the Band-Aid off and they're rebuilding.
They're young, and like Dan Campbell said,
they do remind him a little bit of the 2021 Lions
just in terms of the toughness, the defense.
They're getting...
A foundation built here, but this is an opportunity
for this defense to get some takeaways today.
I think it's Malik was sort
of a poor man's Jordan Love right now, to be honest.
Yeah, and he can hurt you with his legs a little bit.
You've got to be mindful of that.
But again, it's an offense that has struggled.
They take a lot of deep shots.
They just don't complete many of them.
And Lomas, that Dolphin defense is giving up
a quarterback rating right now over 119.
It would be an NFL record if they stayed on that pace.
Yeah, and especially.
It's like they're facing...
Brandon used to say this back in the day
when the Lions were giving up on like a 1-14.
It's like you're facing the best quarterback in the league every week.
Yeah, that's true.
And especially versus play-action pass.
They are terrible.
They are the worst versus play-action.
And, of course, we know we'll have one
of the best quarterbacks with that.
So I'm telling you, I look at this game
as just a game of opportunities,
a game of opportunities, a get-right game for the Lions.
And I expect that.
That's what I expect.
Get in here.
Like you say, I like that.
What did you say?
Briefcase game.
Briefcase game, man.
Yeah, take care of your business and don't give them any hope
because we know teams that you let hang in there,
they get that confidence.
All right, we'll take a break.
We'll come right back.
Much more coming up.
Glad to have you with us.
It is game day.
Lions looking for a fourth straight victory
as they get set to take on the Dolphins.
