There is a huge wrestling event
that is happening tomorrow in Hamtramck.
It's international big-time wrestling.
They're having a wrestling extravaganza.
And so we're going to join Alan Huggabook.
Alan, how are you doing?
Hey, Brandon. How are you, man?
I'm good. I'm good. Hey, thank you for joining us.
Look, so how did this event come about?
Well, Big Time Wrestling has a long history here
in the state of Michigan, and our roots
go way back to the Cobo days with the original Sheik Bobo Brazil,
Panpero Firpo, and we just
want to bring that history to Michigan once again.
There are a lot of people
who may not know of the rich history that we have here in Detroit
in professional wrestling, a lot of the major stars that started.
Right here in Detroit with us here in International Big Time Wrestling.
Wrestlers that you see in the WWE.
But tomorrow at Planet Ant Theater, we're going to host something
that hasn't been done very often here in Detroit.
We're going to have legends.
We're going to have about seven matches, five championship matches.
Brandon, it's something that you don't want to miss.
Look, you got, I saw you had Roddy Piper,
he'll be there, Big Mama is going to be there,
you got some other legends that will also be there,
in addition to those future stars
that I just named, but what is it about Detroit,
and Metro Detroit, that has made it such a
hotbed when it comes to wrestling?
Like I mentioned, it's the history.
Detroit, for many years, hosted wrestling at Cobo Arena.
The original Sheik sold out every two weeks at Cobo Arena,
and I was a part of that as a very young kid,
and it's just been in my blood, in my heart.
It's been in Rude Boy's heart, and we just want to continue
that and bring something special to Detroit and to Hamtramck,
the historic Hamtramck, Michigan.
Planet Ant Theater has been kind enough to host us here,
and we're really looking forward to it, Brandon.
Look, and it's not just action in the ring.
You get a chance for people to meet those stars
that are going to be wrestling matches
or who have been wrestling for decades and decades.
So to be able to make that connection between the wrestlers
and the fans, how important is that?
It's really important. You need to know your history
if you're involved in professional wrestling.
We're going to have videos that we're going to show,
the house that the Sheik built,
the measure of a man about Chris Carter,
one of the legendary figures here in Detroit.
Not just here in Detroit, but Ohio, Indiana.
Chris Carter was all over the Midwest in the 80s.
A really big name at that time.
And he's going to be there live signing autographs.
We're going to have,
we're going to debut the Irish Mickey Doyle trading card.
This is something that you can't get anywhere else but here
at International Big Time Wrestling and at Throwdown Theater,
which is one of our sponsors.
And we've got a lot to look forward to tomorrow.
We're going to have autograph signings, like I said,
about seven big matches, meet and greet.
We're going to have live podcasts.
It's just going to be a whole day
of events there at Planet Ant Theater.
How long have you been covering wrestling
here in Detroit, Michigan, Detroit?
Me, myself, I've been actually involved
in professional wrestling going on 36 years now.
I started in 1991 at Azteca Hall.
My first match or my first main event
was Bobo Brazil and the original Sheik.
And from there, I went on to ECW.
I promoted wrestling here in Michigan,
Detroit area for a very long time.
Some of the biggest names that you can ever think
of worked right here in Detroit.
CM Punk.
Seth Rollins, Claudio Castagnoli, the list just goes on and on.
Daniel Bryan, Edge
and Christian really got their big start right here in Detroit with me.
You know, a lot of people may not know that it's
not really involved in the local scene.
But, man, we have so much, so much to offer.
And we're really looking forward to this event tomorrow.
Now, look, Alan, you've been a great resource
and a great connection to wrestling.
As we know, the stars of today and the stars before them,
as well as the stars that are coming up.
But give us a sense of some of the people that you're working with now.
Some of the guys that we may not know yet.
Or if you're connected in the community,
you may know, but they have a promising future
when it comes to some of the bigger promotions
with the AEWs, the WWEs, the TNAs.
Yes, yes, we do.
Roddy Swavino is the international
big-time wrestling heavyweight champion,
and he'll be going against one of the veterans here in the Midwest,
amazing Nate.
Nate, in my opinion, is pound for pound,
one of the best wrestlers in the country.
Also, we have a ladder match,
and that will feature Cade Monroe and Solo.
This is a match that would be a main event
on any card here in the state of Michigan.
Also, we have Big Mama,
who will be defending her heavyweight championship
or her women's championship against Ray Larson, Relentless Ray Larson.
We have the most dangerous man in Michigan, the DBA, who will
be defending his street fight championship against Chuck Stein.
And so much more is going on tomorrow.
And I got to hand it to you, Brandon.
You've been making your mark here in the state
of Michigan as a wrestler as well.
And we're looking forward to seeing more of you, Brandon.
I appreciate that, man.
Thanks so much.
I don't know if my body can continue to take it,
but I'm in it until the wheels fall off.
Alan, look, one last thing.
This is also fun for the family to be able to provide
this kind of family friendly entertainment that's affordable.
It was
What does that mean for you?
Oh, it means a lot.
affordable.
You know, the ticket prices around the spectrum in sports entertainment
and sports as well is just so high.
You know, you can't afford to take a family to events right now,
but the prices here at International Big Time Wrestling
are very affordable.
You can bring your family, take pictures,
just have such a great time at an affordable price.
Alan, it's good to see you.
Good to talk to you, man.
And have fun tomorrow.
And we will catch up again soon.
That's right.
Looking forward to you.
See you then.
All right.
Take care.
All right.
You got Alan Huggabook.
International Big Time Wrestling.
Big event tomorrow.
In Hamtramck at Planet Ant.
Wrestling extravaganza.
