Holiday Beauty Tips with The Glam Doctor

Well, a smoky eye can feel very intimidating, but today we are making it simple for you. The Glam Doctor is here to show us how to add a little holiday glam. And I remember when you did a smoky eye on me for an event that I was emceeing, and I was like, ooh, a smoky eye. I don't know how this is going to turn out, but it came out amazing. So how do you make it so that it's not too much, too overpowering, and people can feel comfortable easing into it? So the thing about a smoky eye, it can be intimidating because you think all this little, so there are levels to smoky eyes. We're going to do the low-level smoky eye today, okay, for the everyday woman to be able to do it. So we're going to just take a deep brown shadow, okay? So you start with the brown. I start with the brown. So also what I do first, before I even do that, I prep the eye with a little concealer. Okay. Okay? Or you can use a little, what do you want to call it? Now, what does that do? Does that help the eye shadow? It helps the eye shadow. So, what happens, you can do some eye primer. Okay. Because every line has them, but I'm just using some concealer. This is what they got at home. We want to give you something you got at home. Okay? We're prepping the eye with a little concealer, and that's going to grab the shadow. It's going to grab it, and it's going to hold it. Okay. We like that. So, I'm taking my dark, a deep dark brown. I'm just putting it on the eye. Just putting it all over the lid. So why do you start with the brown instead of going right into the black? So I started with the brown because it's deep and it's gonna give me what I need, okay? It's gonna just give me the umph I need to the eye. Okay, and not be too overpowering. Yes, not gonna be too overpowering. Cuz guess what I'm doing? I'm doing one color. Okay. I'm showing y'all a simple. People are going to be loving me after this. Y'all need to make sure y'all tell me how much y'all love this. Right. Because it's so simple. And I'm just putting it on with a basic shadow brush, ladies. Just a basic shadow brush, okay? Now, how important is blending when it comes to this? Watch this. It's so important. Because we see how the final look is right now. So, let's see it going to do its own, right? Now, I'm going to take a blending brush. I'm going to take a little blending brush, and I'm going to take that. I'm going to blend that out. So you want to go windshield wiper motions, okay, and blend that out. Open your eyes, LaKeena, so people can see. Look how pretty it looks, okay? But then I'm not stopping there. I'm going at the bottom. And typically I would take and I would wet the bottom like a synthetic brush. Okay. But I'm going to take the bottom and I'm just going to take that little brush, almost like a smudger. Look up, LaKeena. And I'm going up under and I'm smudging out this at the bottom. Oh, that makes it pop. So it just makes it pop, okay? So this is something you can do at home and it's going to take you less than five minutes to do it. You know, well, maybe something, maybe seven minutes, but you know. You got to learn it and then get used to it and whatnot. Then to make this lip go where you need to go. So I'm going to, I prepped the lips already, but I use a lip. A lip moisturizer. Okay. You want to get that in all over your lips because we are in wintertime. Rubbing really good, LaKeena. You want to rub that in really good. Don't put a whole lot. Because you put too much, it's going to be too much. Okay. Because you want your lipstick to go on. I'm using a matte lipstick on her. To put this lip on, this red, this pretty red lip. Again, let me tell y'all something about a good holiday look. All you need is a good, pretty red lip. Nobody knows all your secrets. Nobody knows that you didn't really know. You know what I'm saying? And I'm just taking this lip. That's a pretty red, too. This is one of our favorite reds that everybody loves. And I'm just in the red lip. Y'all see I'm doing that lip? Yeah. So when you moisturize the lips beforehand, that makes it go on easier? Yes, it does. It makes it go on easier, yes. And really quickly, we got 30 seconds. I know you have a class coming up.
