7.37. Beautiful start to the day. We're in the 50s.
Makes you kind of feel like Christmas is
here. A holiday tradition returning to North Texas today.
Perfect timing. A new location,
a new immersive story,
a new Big Brothers Big Sisters partnership. Joining us this
morning is Ellen Brinsey with The Light Park.
Hey there, Ellen. Good to see you.
Hey, good morning. Merry Christmas. Yeah, I know.
Crazy. One of our viewers wrote us and
was like, this weather makes me feel like I need
to start decorating the house. And sure enough,
it'll be here before we know it.
This drive-thru experience is going to be in three different
locations this year. We got Riders Field in Frisco.
We got Hurricane Harbor in Arlington.
And now also at Samuel Farm in Mesquite, too.
Yeah, this is our fifth year in Dallas
and our first year at Samuel Farm, and if the presale
is any indication, the Mesquite location
is already off to a great start, so we're excited
to bring the light park to that area of DFW.
Okay, explain what guests will be able to see
when they wind through this magical
area.
So it's a little over a mile of an immersive LED light show.
Millions and millions of lights sync to holiday music.
What's new this year is that we're asking guests
to be a part of the experience.
All right.
Santa has tapped our very own DJ Polar Ice
to help bring the aura to power the North Pole.
So our guests...
As we call them, the Nomies are being asked to bring
the energy power for the park and help save Christmas
and DJ Polar Ice and Santa's mission for this year.
So we're really excited about the story.
Oh, that's adorable.
You know, this brings me back to to like COVID
when we were all in our cars.
But it seemed like this was something that families really liked.
Also, I think about the weather this time
of year as we move towards the holiday season.
It's kind of, you know, you never know
what you're going to get in Texas.
Like to have an experience like this where you can
do something fun, throw the kids in
the car and go through this and feel the magic is it's just awesome.
I can't tell you how whenever you leave the park,
you just feel immense joy.
It is the perfect antidote to get you right into the Christmas spirit.
I mean, when we were growing up, we, you know,
checked out Christmas lights all over neighborhoods.
This is that on steroids with an amazing polar bear.
And there's a lot, like I said, there's a lot for families to do,
food and beverage, merchandise.
Thank you.
Thank you.
There was this comment on social we had
that's really resonated with me.
Last year, she took her DJ Polar Ice.
Polar Bear home with her, and she's
been obsessed with Polar Bears the entire year.
So definitely something that sticks
with families beyond just the lights.
Yeah.
Now, is it a right, like, do you tune into a radio station?
Like, is there music, too?
Yes.
So you, whenever you pull in, you go to an FM station,
and then you are in, you are in
the world of the light park.
Music and DJ Polar Ice and the Head Elf
are all talking to you throughout your journey.
And how do you do this?
Is it like each person has a ticket or is it like one vehicle,
like everyone pile in this one car?
How does that work?
That's the best part about being a family,
budget-friendly experience for the holidays.
It's one price per car.
That can be a suburban, that can be a small car, it doesn't matter.
So we encourage you to bring grandma,
bring grandma, bring as many people, friends as
you can to enjoy this experience as a family.
Oh, fun.
Okay, tell me about the Big Brothers Big Sisters partnership this year.
So, giving back is a big part of the holidays,
and it's kind of a personal one for me.
I was a big sister many years ago
and just really love what Big Brothers Big Sisters
does to communities and especially for children in the communities,
and Christmas is for children.
So, we partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters across all
of our locations, even our newest
location in Oklahoma City,
and guests every day of our season have the opportunity to
to donate directly to Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
But on Tuesday, we have a special Big Brothers,
Big Sisters ticket that if guests purchase it,
$5 of the ticket goes to Big Brothers,
Big Sisters, and they get a free popcorn,
which is a $9.99 value.
And then beyond that, we're offering free tickets to all Big Brothers,
Big Sisters matches in all of our markets. So they can enjoy this.
All right, now's the time to get your tickets.
The light park opens today. It goes through January 3rd.
We have a link with all the information on our website, fox4news.com.
Thank you so much. Appreciate it.
