AI GeneratedToday's weather starts mild with a high of 82°F and increasing clouds. While Friday remains mostly quiet, a shift occurs over the weekend. Rain is expected to arrive Saturday night and continue through Sunday, bringing significantly cooler temperatures and a risk of heavy downpours and flooding in areas southwest of Houston.
Welcome back. It's 646 and hey, it's Friday.
So kids, you know, hooray for you. You got the weekend coming up.
Let's talk about the school bus forecast.
So heading out to the bus stop this morning, about 64 degrees.
So what does that feel like? It was pretty nice, man.
I think you should probably still get away with short sleeves.
It'll just feel a little bit on the brisk side temporarily.
Clouds are going to start to pick up throughout the day today.
So we'll end up mostly cloudy, a mild afternoon, about 82 degrees,
which is a few degrees above average for this time of the year.
But still, obviously, you know,
Pretty comfortable.
What's going on with the allergens out there?
Well, I think in response to some of the rain that we had,
Some pretty decent downpours we had on Election Day.
Mold spores are up.
They're now into the heavy category.
They jumped from medium to heavy.
Ragweed pollen actually briefly got knocked down.
So, you know, hopefully it stays that way.
All right, a quiet Friday lies ahead for us.
Not as cool this morning.
Increasing clouds.
High temperatures in the low 80s for this afternoon.
And, you know, not a whole lot to worry about for the day today.
Temps out the door.
Lots of 60s out there.
Feeling pretty good.
About 57 degrees right now in Tomball.
57 in Cleveland.
All right, let's talk about what
What lies ahead for the weekend?
So today, not much going on, maybe a sprinkle.
Tomorrow, same thing.
Maybe just a couple of showers, but tomorrow night is when we start
to get the leading edge of some of this rain coming in.
Here's the latest run of our Fox weather model at 915 on Saturday night
going into the day on Sunday with some rain coming into the area.
And then look at this, just kind of waves
of rain moving across the area on Sunday.
The highest risk for some of the
accumulating heavy downpours will be 15.
Farther to the southwest of Houston, maybe from Wharton down
to Victoria and from Columbus out to San Antonio.
If you're headed to San Antonio or Austin, but especially San Antonio
this weekend, prepare yourself for some pretty heavy downpours there.
And with the fact that we're going to have some clouds and rain hanging
around through the day on Sunday and probably parts of Monday as well,
it's going to hold our temperatures down,
which is one good byproduct of rain.
The excessive rainfall outlook does show some potential for seeing some
flooding, especially from San Antonio southward to Laredo, Brownsville,
Corpus Christi as well.
Around here, notice that green line, which is where the cutoff
is basically for the threat for seeing some heavier downpours,
does include Wharton County, Matagorda County, Jackson County, and then
places like Fayette County and points out there toward the west.
A mild morning, rain-free, nice out there.
Later on today, I did include a 10% rain chance today.
I don't think we'll see a ton, but there certainly
is a chance for seeing some of those isolated sprinkles.
Some spotty fog possible overnight tonight,
so watch out for that in the lows in the 60s.
And then tomorrow, cooler.
A little bit cooler and kind of cloudy,
and then there comes some of the rain in from the southwest.
Here's your seven-day Fox Red forecast.
82 today.
How about 76 tomorrow with a few showers?
Rain comes in Saturday night into Sunday.
A 60% rain chance Sunday, and look at that high of 65 degrees.
